Introduction Easy Site Maintenance Extension helps Online Merchants to put their Online Store in Maintenance Mode for Specified Time Span from frontend where Online Merchants can configure it from Back-End. The Online Store is kept on maintenance mode due to some technical or server related issues, or to update or change some features or theme of the website. Benefits of Easy Site Maintenance Registers Visit Visitors can mark their visit by filling in the contact us form and can contact the admin anytime even if the site is under maintenance. Timely and Easy Access to Website Visitors don t need to visit the site under speculation, but they can be sure of accessing the website after receiving the notification from the website admin that the site is back for access! Opts for Notification The option of receiving notification when the site is accessible helps customers to access the site at right time without spending time and efforts on trying to access the site when it is on maintenance mode. Helps to keep your online store in maintenance mode for specific period of time. Allows user to get notification when site is made live. Installation Installation Steps Step 1: Check Permissions Make sure the ''app'' and ''skin'' directories of your Magento and all directories inside it have full written permissions or set permissions on the each directory equal to 777 or 0777. Important! Change all permissions back after installation. Read more about permission at http://www.magentocommerce.com/wiki/magento_filesystem_permissions Step 2: Disable Compilation Log into Magento Admin Panel and go to System Tools Compilation and disable the compilation. After step 5 you can run the compilation process again. Step 3: Upload Files Upload all folders from the extension package to the installation directory of your Magento software using an FTP client. Step 4: Clear cache Go to System Cache Management. Clear the store cache. Step 5: Re-login Log out and log back into Magento Admin Panel. Installation (Custom Theme) Please do the next steps after the Installation: Step1: Copy layout and template folders from app/design/frontend/default/default folder to app/design/ frontend/your_package/your_theme folder Step 2: Copy css and images folders from skin/frontend/default/default folder to skin/ frontend/ your_package/your_theme folder You are now ready to use the Easy Site Maintenance extension. www.appjetty.com 3
Configuration Please follow the below steps to enable Easy Site Maintenance extension. Go to System -> Configuration In the left column you will see the tab Advanced -> Easy Site Maintenance. www.appjetty.com 4
Step 1: Maintenance Configuration Site Maintenance: Enable or disable Site Maintenance. Allow Frontend for Admin: Yes then frontend will be allowed for logged in admin. Page Title: Define site maintenance page title. Allowed IPs: IPs that can access the site when site is under maintenance. Log file: Create log file to know who access while site is under maintenance mode. Logo: upload Company or website logo. Logo Height: Enter logo height for slider. Logo Width: Enter logo Width for slider. Background Image: Upload background image. Redirect URL: Define URL(s) can be accessed while site is under maintenance. Maintenance Page HTML: Defined HTML content will be show when site is under maintenance. www.appjetty.com 5
Step 2: Timer Configurations Timer? : Enable or disable timer. Make site live when Timer expires: Select Yes to make site live by itself when timer expires. Timer text: Add text for timer Start Date: Add Start Date for timer. (Defined date timer will get set) End Date: Add End Date for timer. (Defined date timer will get set) Start Hour: Add hour when you want to start up timer. End Hour: Add hour when you want to finish up timer. Start Minute: Add Start minute when you want to start up timer. End Minute: Add End minute when you want to finish up timer. Alert Minutes: Add minutes when timer comes to an end. Step 3: Contact Us Configuration Enable: Enable/disable contact us form. Recipient Email: Define Recipient email to which email will be send. Step 4: Notify Configuration Enable: Enable/disable notify form. Notify Title: Define title, which will be shown on notification form Notify Message: Define message, will be shown on notification form Email Template Content: Define content, which will be used while sending notification email to customer, when site is off to maintenance You have to define Hour and Minute for start and finish up timer. www.appjetty.com 7
