It supports all measurement types (TPS, GNSS and level data) and is the ideal tool to view, process, quality-check and archive data before exporting it to virtually any format required by subsequent mapping or engineering software packages. While LEICA Geo Office is the perfect partner for Viva GNSS and TPS instruments, it also supports the FlexLine series as well as the existing range of TPS, GNSS and Level instruments. 2 What s new in Version 8.2 OVERVIEW Leica Geo Office version 8.2 includes a number of improvements and corrections. INSTALLATION NOTE FOR FLOATING LICENSES To be able to use a floating license of LGO 8.2 it is required to update the CLM Administrator tools on your server, first. To do so run the Server Package 1.1, which is available on your LEICA Geo Office DVD or can be downloaded from the Leica Geosystems website. 2.1 Offline Activation For the initial installation and activation of LEICA Geo Office an Internet connection used to be required. Now, LGO 8.2 includes new CLM Tools which enable an Offline License Transfer. Offline License Transfer offers the customer who cannot establish an internet connection the chance to activate/ return or update a software license offline. There are several cases when an internet connection may not be available or possible: Companies/ Institutions that only allow email. Special Networks that are offline on purpose. Problems with the network connection (e.g. due to Proxy servers or Firewalls). To overcome such problems we offer you the chance to activate/ return or update an LGO license offline via a second PC or any other device that must at least have email connection to the internet (e.g. a smartphone). 3/7
After receiving an Entitlement ID the following steps have to be taken to activate/ return or update your Entitlement offline: 1. On a computer or other device with an internet connection get a Start file either via email or via the myworld customer portal and transfer it via a portable storage device, e.g. a USB stick, to the target PC (i.e. the PC where the software shall be activated). 2. Install the software on the target PC to get the CLM Administration tools installed and create a Request file. 3. Transfer the Request file via a portable storage device, e.g. a USB stick to a computer or other device with an internet connection and request Leica Geosystems for a Response file either via the myworld customer portal or via email. 4. Transfer the Response file via a portable storage device, e.g. a USB stick, back to the target PC and process the Response file. INTRODUCTION & INSTALLATION Leica Geosystems provides a detailed manual that explains the Leica Software Licensing including the new Offline License Transfer and guides you through the software installation and license activation process step-by-step. This installation guide is available on your LEICA Geo Office DVD or can be downloaded from the Leica Geosystems website. 4/7
2.2 Additional Code Information With SmartWorx Viva 4.0 it is possible to enter additional code information when measuring points. This may be useful when the surveyed points are imported into a CAD package which can automatically create lineworks based on the additional code information entered in the field. LGO 8.2 supports the additional Code information for the points: The new Code information is imported into LGO using SmartWorx Viva raw data import. The Code information can be displayed in LGO in an additional column in the Points view and/or in the Point Properties. You can modify/delete/enter and export Code information from within LGO. The Code information can be exported via the ASCII Export. 5/7
2.3 Phase xrtk xrtk is a new position type available with the SmartWorx Viva firmware version 4.0. It is designed to give fixed positions with lower accuracy for canopy and difficult environment GNSS surveys. LGO 8.2 imports xrtk positions and shows: the 'Point Class' as 'Measured' the 'Point SubClass' as 'Phase xrtk' The new subclass can be exported via the Custom ASCII Export. LGO versions older than 8.2 import all xrtk position types as 'Code Only'. 2.4 Panoramic Images It is now possible to view panoramic images captured with the TS imaging total stations. The panoramic images can be linked, unlinked and exported as any other images. 6/7
2.5 Other improvements NEW SENSORS The new Leica GS25, GR25 and GM10 Receivers are now supported within LGO8.2. FORMAT MANAGER New export variables are available for the SmartWorx Viva and the Office template. Point Code information is available in the SmartWorx Viva and in the Office template. New RoadRunner variables are available for the SmartWorx Viva template. To successfully export the new variables the SmartWorx Viva firmware version 4.0 and the Custom ASCII Export of LGO version 8.2 respectively have to be used. 7/7
