The goal of the application is to increase sales by positively impacting the customer's in store experience. Sales Assist empowers the associate to upsell, search for items, and tender credit and debit transactions on the sales floor. In addition, Pay Stations can be employed to speed checkout through the checkout queue for cash transactions or in cases where the merchant POS system will only allow checkout through cashier equipment. The specific connectivity settings for the WiFi dictate the connectivity requirements. The Zebra QLn220 must also be configured to the Wireless LAN: RW220 Printer with WiFi radio Motorola AP 6532 Motorola ET1 Tablet with WiFi radio All items to be scanned and included in the simulated receipt or queue-busting chit are stored in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (or 2008). In addition, a SQL database table is used to contain the printing templates employed for formatting these short documents. 3
Networking & Connectivity Requirements Please detail any networking (TCP/IP, Bluetooth or otherwise) and direct cable connection requirements below. Wired: Please indicate wired networking validation requirements including: the types of hub, switches, routers, bridges, wiring, LAN/WAN, routing technologies etc. Wireless: Please indicate the wireless validation requirements including types and number of access points, 802.11 standards, security, environmental expectations, etc. For this test, wireless connections are made on a 802.11g network with WPA TKIP security. The actual wireless settings are immaterial to the test, as only the Hand-Held client and QLn220 need to be on the same network as the server. Note: For Bluetooth, if possible, include the stack used on the host (master) side (example: Stonestreet, Toshiba, Microsoft). Security: Please indicate the network security validation requirements including: authentication, encryption, etc. WPA TKIP w/passphrase for this test. Addressing/Segmenting: Please indicate any addressing scheme requirements or how the network should be segmented. Hand-held Android tablet, Server and QLn220 must be on same network.
