Preface Thank you for purchasing our digital MP3 player and USB flash drive. We hope it will bring you many years of music enjoyment and make your transferring of files easy. We hope this manual will help guide you through the general operation of your device. While flash memory is one of the most reliable forms of storage available today, it is strongly recommended that you do not use this device as a sole source for backing up data. The manufacturer will not be held responsible for any manual misprints, loss of data, or damages caused by this device. Please read this manual in its entirety before operating your MP3 player to avoid confusion and any unintended loss of data. Once again, thank you for your purchase. Functions: Supports various audio files such as MP3, WMA, and WAV No driver required (Windows 2000 and above) Win98 drivers are included on disk Encrypted file mode partitions the disk into a public and a private sector DVR (Digital Voice Recorder) Your MP3 player can also act as a voice recorder, utilizing the integrated microphone. Recognizes WAV and ACT file extensions 7 preset equalizer tones -- normal, rock, pop, classic, soft, jazz, bass Different play modes -- general mode, repeat one, folder, repeat in catalog, repeat all, random, preview Auto Off Set your own sleep mode to conserve battery life. Preset animation Chose from 3 different welcome/goodbye animation screens. LED backlight easily adjust the background lighting for different conditions. Quick Start Guide 1. It is recommended you read the Explanation of buttons in the next section to help you understand this quick guide section. 2. Place your battery into the MP3 Player (back of player, other side of display), the positive (+) end will face AWAY from the spring. 3. Hold down the Play/Pause button on the player until the player turns on (3 seconds) 4. If your player is displaying the correct language, please go to step 5. If your player is in the incorrect language please see below: When your player turns on, use the mode switch to navigate to the system icon. This icon will look like 3 boxes connected by a line. This icon looks similar to the networking icon that may appear on your network card. Press and release the mode key to bring you to the sub menu. Navigate to the right to the icon that has an E in the upper left and a box with a line THROUGH it in the center. Press and release the mode key to select this icon Navigate to the Icon that says US (if you are looking for English) and select by pressing the menu key once. This should change your language to English 5. Plug your player into an available USB port on you computer. Your computer should recognize the device and install the proper drivers. If you are running an older Operating System (OS), please install the proper drivers. 6. Your OS will create a drive labeled removable disk 7. Drag and drop you MP3 files to this disk You are ready to go! **** Hint**** At this time you can also create sub folders on this disk ( slow songs, hard rock, fun music) simply right click in this drive and select new then folder drag the appropriate songs into each folder. Explanation of Buttons: Mode Switch (Toggle switch on side of player) This switch will be used to help you navigate through the menu system on your MP3 player. There are 4 basic functions you can accomplish with this switch:

Moving Toggle to the right or left This will navigate you through the menu system selecting the next icon that in the menu system. This switch also acts as the Next or Back button on a CD player while in music mode. Press once Pressing and releasing this button acts as an Enter key on a computer. Press and hold - Holding down this button for a few seconds it will bring you back to the main menu. Play/Pause button This button will play or pause music during MP3 playback. Also works as an enter key in some menus Press and hold to turn your MP3 player on or off Will work as start and stop during voice record mode. Hold switch Works as a key lock to avoid accidental powering on or off. No buttons will function while the hold switch is in the Hold mode. The hold switch also acts as a write protect function in USB flash memory mode. Volume Adjusts audio output.. From the main menu there are four options: (please note that depending on the version of firmware (software) you are using, your display may look different) Main Menu MSC Music Mode REC Voice record RPL Voice replay SYS System settings Use mode switch to highlight a menu item. Press mode switch once to select the menu item. Music Mode Press Play/Pause to listen to or pause music Mode switch (left/right) will select next or previous song. Pressing mode switch once while music is playing will select the music sub menu. Pressing mode switch while song is paused will select file menu. Recording Mode Press play/pause button to start and stop recording Press and hold mode switch to save recording and return to previous menu. Playing Mode Press Play/Pause to listen to or pause voice recording Mode switch (left/right) will select next or previous recording. Pressing mode switch once while voice is playing will select the music sub menu. Pressing mode switch while voice is paused will select file menu. System Settings

In this area you can change or adjust system settings such as time and date, backlight, back color, language, power off, replay mode, contrast, and other general settings. Transferring an ACT recording file to WAV recording format: The ACT format file in the player can be transferred to WAV format by using the installation software. 1. Run Sound Converter program, click the Open button 2. Choose the ACT file for transfer 3. Click Transfer or Open button, then change to WAV file.

Accept the transfer function from ACT to WAV. This tool can also play WAV and MP3 files Using the USB disk Your MP3 player also acts as a standard USB flash drive. Simply plug the player directly into the USB port into your computer. No drivers are necessary for Windows 2000 or XP. (Win98 drivers are included on the driver disk). The USB function also supports Mac OS 10.3 and higher as well as Linux Red Hat 8.0 and above. Your drive will show up in the explorer bar (My Computer) as a removable drive. Updating the player: Caution: Updating of firmware should be done by advanced users only. Incorrect updating of firmware can cause loss of data and void your warranty. Please visit our website for updated firmware settings and directions for updating your firmware. Generally, there is no need for firmware updates if your MP3 player is operating correctly. Encrypting files: The encryption program is located on your driver disk. This program is used to password protect a partition of the USB flash disk. Please refer to our website for complete instructions on using this program. 1. Plug the player into the USB port of your computer. 2. ****Make sure you have backed up all data on the device. Partitioning a device will lose all data on that device.*** 3. Make sure the computer recognizes the disk and that all drivers are installed (if applicable). 4. Run the MP3 player disk utility.
