Panasonic Security System Configuration Tool (PSSCT) Operating Instructions Before attempting to connect or operate this product, please read these instructions carefully and save this manual for future use. No model number suffix is shown in this Operating Instructions. Preface Panasonic Security System Configuration Tool (PSSCT) is the software that is designed to configure the settings of network disk recorders, network interface units (encoders) and network cameras using a PC via a network. It is possible to configure IP addresses of recorders, encoders, and cameras at once. It is also possible to upload the edited settings to the devices and download the current settings from the devices. Refer to the provided Setting items of each device (PDF file) about the compatible devices. System configuration diagram

About these operating instructions These operating instructions provide instructions of how to install this software and of how to configure the settings of each device using this software. The descriptions in the following pages are based on the assumption that Microsoft Windows 7 Professional runs on a PC. Operation windows may not be the same as those appearing on the pages when a different OS is used or different settings are applied. When using other OS, refer to the operating instructions of the respective OS. System requirements for a PC It is recommended to install this software on a PC that meets the following system requirements. Note: Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 SP1 is required to run this software. Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 SP1 and Microsoft Windows Installer are required to run this software. When they are not installed on a PC, additional 210 MB of disk space is necessary for installation. 1 024 x 768 pixels or more 24-bit True color or better Network interface 10/100 Mbps Network interface card must be installed *3. 2

*1: This software is designed based on the default style or the font size of Microsoft Windows Vista,Microsoft Windows 7,Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Windows 8.1. It is not recommended to change the display style or the font size from the default. When the display style or the font size is changed from the default, it may be possible that the layout of this software collapses. *2: The network settings on the PC must meet those of the network environment where the PC is connected. *3: Operates in WOW64 (32-bit mode). Important: This software must be installed or started by an administrator of the PC. Otherwise, any problems will not be covered by the warranty. Do not use other applications, especially heavy load types, while this software is running. Otherwise, the CPU overload and the shortage of resources will cause malfunction and insufficient performance. You can not use it with this software EasyIpSetup(include Camera s CD) WV-ASM100 WV-ASM200 Enter 1-byte alphanumeric characters for user names. If 2-byte characters are included, installation may fail. Network Security As you will use this product connected to a network, your attention is called to the following security risks. (1) Leakage or theft of information through this product (2) Use of this product for illegal operations by persons with malicious intent (3) Interference with or stoppage of this product by persons with malicious intent It is your responsibility to take precautions such as those described below to protect yourself against the above network security risks. Use this product in a network secured by a firewall, etc. If this product is connected to a network that includes PCs, make sure that the system is not infected by computer viruses or other malicious entities (using a regularly upgraded anti-virus program, anti-spyware program, etc.). Protect your network against unauthorized access by restricting users to those who log in with an authorized user name and password. Apply measures such as user authentication to protect your network against leakage or theft of information, including image data, authentication information (user names and passwords), alarm mail information, FTP server information. 5

Preparation Installation Install this software by following the message in the dialog box. Important: Do not edit, delete and move the files copied upon installation. Otherwise, this software may not work correctly. When reinstalling this version, reinstall after confirming the old version is uninstalled. And when using Windows Vista,Windows 7,Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, remove the following folder (C:\Users\"User Name"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramFiles\Panasonic\AdminConsole). When reinstalling this software, reinstall after confirming the software is uninstalled. 1 Contact your dealer and download the software onto a PC. 2 Double-click "setup. exe". The confirmation window will be displayed. 3 Click [OK] button. Follow the instructions of the wizard to complete the installation. When starting installation after selecting the standard installation, a new folder will be created and the files of this software will be copied in the created folder. (The directory path is "C:\Program Files\Panasonic\AdminConsole".) When the installation is completed, the program will be added to the "start" menu. Note: When the installer of Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 is launched, install it by following the instructions of the wizard. Reboot the PC after completing the installation, and then double-click the "setup.exe" icon on the desktop. Install the setup software of ND300 or ND200(it is contained in CD of a recorder) in advance if you select ND300 or ND200 from Setup Software of the Recorder. 7

Uninstallation Uninstall this software as follows. 1 Click the "Programs and Features" icon in "Control Panel". The "Programs and Features" window will be displayed. 2 Select "Panasonic Security System Configuration Tool (PSSCT)", and then click [Uninstall] button. Uninstall the program by following instructions. Note: When using Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, remove the following directory. C:\Users\ User Name \AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramFiles\Panasonic\AdminConsole\Datas Connections Connect PCs and devices. Refer to the operating instructions of each device in use for how to connect them. 8

Start the software Start this software to configure the network settings after connecting a PC and devices. The following instructions begin from the screen displayed just after the PC is booted. 1 Select "AdminConsole" from "start" menu ("start" - "All Programs" - "Panasonic" - " Panasonic Security System Configuration Tool (PSSCT)" - " Panasonic Security System Configuration Tool (PSSCT)"). This software will be launched, and then the login window will be displayed. Important: Do not edit, delete and move the files copied upon installation. Otherwise, this software may not work correctly. 2 Enter registered user name and password. The default user name and password are "ADMIN" and "12345" respectively. Important: To enhance the security, change from the default user name and password. It is also recommended to change them periodically. 3 Click [OK] button. The top page of the software will be displayed. Start operation by selecting each menu item of this page. To quit operation of this software and exit, click [ ] button at the top right of the setup page. 9

About the top page The page displayed first after launching this software is the top page. Click each button to operate the respective functions. ( page 42) Note: Up to 8 recorders can be registered and up to 256 cameras/encoders can be registered. (2) Up to 256 cameras can be registered. (3, 4, 5, 6) Up to 256 recorders/cameras/encoders can be registered. 10

Description Initial Setup Configure IP addresses of the system (recorders, encoders and cameras) at once. Important: The "Windows Security Alert" window may be displayed when this software is launched. In this case, click the "Unblock" button on the displayed "Windows Security Alert" window. For security enhancement, the MAC address and the IP address of the connected camera will disappear configuration of the settings will become unavailable when 20 minutes have passed after turning on the power of it. According to your needs, click [Search] button to confirm that the settings may be completed. It is impossible to operate this software when the PC is routed in the different subnet using a router. 1 Click [Initial Setup] button. The setup window will be displayed. 2 Click [Search] button. Detection of IP addresses of the devices will start automatically. If some devices are failed to detect, please extend the Search time, and then try again. Note: If you can t find the device, confirm the following. (1) Reboot the device. (2) Confirm the power supply, the connection to the NW switch and start-up. (3) Click [Search] button. 11

3 Configure the IP address When "Manual" is selected for [Assign IP address] button. Click [Details] button to open the detailed setting page. Configure the Network setting, IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and HTTP port according to your need. When [Assign IP address] button is clicked, an IP address will be assigned to the device. When "Auto(Assign available IP addresses automatically)" is selected for [Assign IP address] button. When [Assign IP address] button is clicked, IP address setting page will be displayed. Enter the IP address to be given to the device as the first address and click [OK] button, and then, an available IP address will be assigned to the device. And the same net mask and default gateway as PC will be assigned to the device. 4 Click [Completed] button. Exit this software by closing this window. 12

Configure IP address This setting page will be displayed when [Initial Setup] button is clicked. The IP address of i-pro products can be detected/configured. (2) [Search] button Click this button to detect available devices on the network. (Search time : 30 300sec) (3) [Details] button Click this button to display the setting page to configure the detailed settings (Network setting, IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, HTTP port) of the selected device. ( page 14) (4) [Assign IP address] Click this button to assign IP addresses to the devices. Manual Auto(Assign available IP addresses automatically) The designated IP address will be assigned to the device. IP address setting page will be displayed. Available IP addresses on the network will be assigned to the devices automatically. (5) [Completed] button Exit this software by closing this window. 13

Important: Wait for a while until the settings are completed. For security enhancement, the MAC address and the IP address of the connected camera will disappear and configuration of the settings will become unavailable when 20 minutes have passed after turning on the power of it. According to your needs, click [Search] button to confirm that the settings may be completed. When [Assign IP address] button is clicked after selecting "Assign available IP addresses automatically", the same subnet mask and the default gateway of the PC on which this software is running will be assigned to the device. If IP address already used it, set another IP address. When using a firewall (including software), allow access to all UDP ports. Detailed setting page Select a device on the "01. IP address" page, and then click [Details] button. The detailed setting page will be displayed. Configure the Network setting, IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and HTTP port. (1) (2) (3) (4) No. Item Description (1) [Copy the settings and apply them to all devices.] checkbox When the checkbox is checked, the same values will be applied to all devices. (Network setting, subnet mask, default gateway, HTTP port number) (2) Manual Select IPv6 address setting. (If device support IPv6 address, you can select this item) (3) [Set] button Click this button to save the settings. (4) [Cancel] button Click this button to cancel the edited settings. * Refer to the operating instructions of the device in use for information about each setting item. 14

Configure Cameras Important: The "Windows Security Alert" window may be displayed when this software is launched. In this case, click the "Unblock" button on the displayed "Windows Security Alert" window. Wait for a while until camera configuration changes are completed. This software may fail to connect the device when the destination device is in operation. Then try again. Refer to the operating instructions of the device in use for information about each setting item. When the saved file is edited such by other tools, reading will become impossible. Do not access concurrently to the same device from multiple PCs using this software. Otherwise, device errors may occur. When using a firewall (including software), allow access to all UDP ports. 1 Click [Configure Cameras] button. The selection page will be displayed. 2 [STEP1] Search / Add / Delete Cameras When [Search] button is clicked, searching IP addresses of cameras will start automatically. If some devices are failed to search, please extend Search time, and then try again. 15

When [Add] button is clicked, camera registration page will be displayed. Input the following items. Model (blank space enabled) IP address (Start, End) User name Password HTTP port When [Del] button is clicked, the registered camera will be deleted from the list. When [Download] button is clicked, download the settings from checked the camera, and then the parameters are copied to Camera Configuration List. When right-clicking on the list, the pop-up menu will be displayed. When [Display] is selected, the image from the camera will be displayed with web browser. Note: If you can t find the device, confirm the following. (1) Reboot cameras. (2) Confirm the power supply, the connection to the NW switch and start-up. (3) Click [Search] button 3 [STEP2]Select Camera Parameters. When these menu labels are clicked, the selected menu will be displayed in this area. Note: The saved settings (Camera Parameters) can be opened by clicking [Open] button. Click [Save] button to save the settings of Camera Parameters. Refer to "Setting items of each device (PDF file)" about each setting item. 16

4 [STEP3]Copy Parameters to Right List. Checked parameters are copied to checked cameras on Camera Configuration List. Note: When parameters copy failed to the list, display a message window. Correct the items according to the message. 5 [STEP4]Send Listed Configurations to Selected Cameras. When [Start] button is clicked, selected cameras configuration changes will start. Wait for a while. When configuration changes are completed, a dialog box will be displayed. 6 Complete the upload. Click [OK] button. Note: Download camera configuration files and change report will be saved. Select a location to save on [Options] page. 17

Launch the setup software of recorders Launch the setup software of recorders. 1 Display the top page, and then click [Configure Recorders]. The "New" page will be displayed. 2 Choose the function When "New Setup File" is selected. When [OK] button is clicked after selecting the model number and the version, the setup software of the selected device will launch. When configuring the settings of ND200 Select The setup software of ND200 and select the version on the setup software of ND200.Refer to the operating instructions of the recorder. When configuring the settings of ND300. Select The setup software of ND300 and select the version on the setup software of ND300.Refer to the operating instructions of the recorder. When configuring the settings of ND400 The setup software of ND400 will launch. When configuring the settings of HD616 The setup software of HD616 will launch. When configuring the settings of HD716 The setup software of HD716 will launch. Refer to the operating instructions of the device in use for information about each setting item. 20

When "Convert Setup file (Binary data) into Text data" is selected. When [OK] button is clicked after selecting Model, Recorder Setup file (Binary data) and Language, the selected data will be converted into Text data. 21

About the start page of the setup software This page will be displayed when [Configure Recorders] button on the top page is clicked. The following are descriptions about the screen and the setup items. The following are instructions when using the WJ-ND400. (1) (3) (2) No. Item Description (1) Tool bar New Click this button to create a new setup file. Open Click this button to open a setup file. Save Click this button to save the settings. Download Click this button to Download Configuration Files from the device. ( page 23) Upload Click this button to Upload Configuration Files to the device. Upload Configuration Files to devices. Important: Wait for a while until the upload completes. When the saved setup file is edited such by text edit software, uploading it to the device will become impossible. Do not access concurrently to the same device from multiple PCs using this software. Upgrade Firmware Important: Wait until the software firmware completes. When designating the directory to save the upgrade firmware, enter 1-byte alphanumeric characters. Other Troubleshooting Check the following before requesting repair. Symptom Cause/solution Page Is the Ethernet cable firmly connected to the 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX port? - Is the connection indicator of the device lit? Is the connection indicator of the device lit? When it is not lit, connection to a LAN is not established or a network is not working correctly. Confirm that the connection indicator of the - 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX port is lit. Refer to a system administrator if it is not lit. Is the valid IP address set? Refer to a system administrator for further information. - Are you accessing the wrong IP address? Cannot access the device from this software. Check the connection as follows: >ping IP address of the device If there is reply from the device, the connection is normal. If not, check the settings of the IP address and the subnet mask. - Is the same IP address provided to other devices? Refer to a system administrator for further information. - Are there contradictions between the address and the network subnet to be accessed? When the device and the client (PC) are on the same subnet, is the same subnet set for the IP addresses of the device and the PC? Is "Use Proxy Server" for the settings of the browser - checked? When accessing the device in the same subnet, entering the address of the device in the "Don t Use Proxy For These Addresses" box is recommended. Cannot log in. Is the correct password entered? Confirm that the correct password is entered. - The installer is launched when starting this software. The message saying that it is necessary to reinstall the software is displayed. It may be possible that the files copied onto the PC upon the installation are deleted, moved or edited. Reinstall by following the displayed instructions or uninstall the software and install it again. - 43

Symptom Cause/solution Page Have 20 minutes passed after turning on the power of the device? For security enhancement, the MAC address/ip address of the device will disappear and configuration of the settings will become unavailable when 20 minutes have passed after turning on the power of it. (1)Reboot the device. - (2)Confirm the power supply, the connection to the NW switch and start-up. (3)Click [Start] or [Refresh] button. Refer to the setup instructions of the device for information on how to reboot it. The firewall function of the anti-virus software may be filtering the port of the camera. - Allow access to all UDP and HTTP ports. Cannot detect the device or configure the IP address. Are the incompatible devices (no camera, recorder, switch and operation PC) connected in the same subnet? - Remove the incompatible devices from the same subnet. The connected Ethernet cable may be defective. Exchange it for the others. - When the DHCP server is not found and camera's "Network Settings" is selected, the IP address may not be configured. - Please run the DHCP server or change the mode. When the same Network Information was set, a error message may be displayed. It is shown that the message does not have changes. - Please continue a job. 44

Cautions when using the software The following phenomena may occur when using this software on Windows. If it occurs, follow the provided instructions below. Note that the operation shall be made by an administrator. The following instructions are tested and confirmed. However, note that an phenomenon may not be exactly the same as described according to the PC environment, OS, etc. The following are the instructions and restrictions for each phenomena. <Phenomena 1> No detection result is displayed on this software. * Check the edited settings within 20 minutes after turning on the power of the device. Solution Check the settings of the firewall. When the firewall is active, add this software to the exceptions. 1 Open "Control Panel" and click "Security Center". 2 Click "Windows Firewall" under "Security".(See the diagram on the right) 3 Click "Allow a program through Windows Firewall". 4 Click [Continue] button on the "User Account Control" window. 5 Click [Exceptions] tab on the "Windows Firewall Settings" window. Check the checkbox of "SystemAdmin", and then click [OK] button. (See the diagram on the right) 45
