Device: Power Supply (9-36V) Yellow LED (Traffic) Green LED (Router Device) Blue LED (Coordinator Device) RS232/485 Connector Power Indication LED Technical Specifications: Input Power: DC 9-36V Temperature:-40 O C 85 O C Interface: RS232 / RS485 UART baud rate:9600bps(default), Selectable 9600bps, 19200bps, 38400bps, 115200bps. Wireless Frequency:2.4GHz Wireless Protocol:ZigBee2007 / PRO Transfer Distance:500 meters for in sighted distance MAX Send current:34ma MAX receiving current:25ma Receiving sensitivity:-97dbm Core: ZigBee certified Microcontroller from Texas Instruments Based on certified Zigbee Stack from Texas Instruments.
Configuration GUI Tool: Device Type: In this Device type User can configure the ZigBee device in 3 ways as ZigBee to RS232 Coordinator device, ZigBee to RS232 Router device or ZigBee Router Only device.
ZigBee to RS232 Coordinator device => if user selects this option then the device forms the network and also acts as ZigBee<->RS232 Converter. ZigBee to RS232 Router device =>if user selects this option then the device can only join the network and enables also acts as ZigBee<->RS232 Converter. ZigBee Router Only device => If user selects this option, then the device can join the network but CANNOT act as ZigBee<->RS232 Converter. it just acts as signal Repeater. Network Name (PAN ID): This field provides the user to assign a name for the ZigBee network. Each device in the network should be assigned the same name. If Auto option is selected for ZigBee Coordinator device, then the ZigBee coordinator automatically forms a network with a random name. If Auto option is selected for ZigBee Router device then it automatically joins the nearest detectable network. Channel Number: The user can choose any one of the channel frequency from 11 to 26 for the ZigBee device. If Auto option is selected for the ZigBee coordinator device then it will automatically choose best channel frequency available and will form a new network. If Auto option is selected for ZigBee Router device then it will automatically join the nearest network which matches the network name provided.
Node Name: For ZigBee Router RS232 & ZigBee Router Only device the user can choose node Name from A to Z. When we configure the ZigBee device as Coordinator RS232 then the Node name is by default 0. Mode Type: When user selects Transparent Mode of operation Then the data received from UART at Coordinator device, will be sent to all Router RS232 devices through ZigBee. The data received from UART at any Router RS232 device will be sent to Coordinator through ZigBee. When user selects P2P (point2point) Mode of operation then user can send data between any two nodes. Antenna Transmit Power Level: User can select Antenna Power level from 0dB to +19 db
Serial Port Selection: When user clicks on find button then the GUI automatically detects the COM PORT to which the device is plugged, if nothing is connected to the Port then it displays NONE. Baud Rate : MODE: User can select Baud Rate for ZigBee <->RS232 data transfer from this list. Parity, Data Bit, Stop Bit, Flow control values are fixed. There are two data transfer methods in MODE Type 1. Transparent Mode. 2. Point2point Mode.
Transparent Mode: The data received from RS232 at Coordinator device, will be sent to all Router RS232 devices automatically. Receive: 01 02 Receive: 01 02 R2 R1 Send: 01 02 C Receive: 01 02 Receive: 01 02 R3. R4 The data received from UART at any Router RS232 device will be sent to Coordinator device automatically. The Transparent mode can also be called as One to Many and Many to One. Send: 01 R2 R1 Send: 02 Receive: 01 02 03 04 Send: 03 C R3 R4 Send: 04
Transparent Mode - Transmission performance: Direction Length of Data package Fastest Interval Coordinator->Router 80 Bytes 1000 ms Router->Coordinator 80 Bytes 1000 ms Point2point Mode. When user selects P2P (point2point) Mode then user can send data between any two points. NODE (B) R1 Receive: 0x01 0x02 0x03 0x04 R4 Node (A) C R2 R3 NODE (C) NODE (D) Send: 0x41 0x04 0x01 0x02 0x03 0x04 ASCII (A) DATA Number of Data Bytes
Point2Point Mode Transmission Performance: Direction Length of Data Package Fastest Interval Router ->Router 80Bytes 100ms Coordinator->Router 80Bytes 100ms Router->Coordinator 80Bytes 100ms Packet Format in Point to Point Mode: Target Node Name + Length In Bytes + Data (Max 80 Bytes).
