Maintaining account security Connecting to the Remote Desktop To connect to VPS hosting, you need to take the following steps: 1. Start All Programs Accessories Remote Desktop Connection.
VPS instruction 2. In the window that opens, enter the IP address you received by email. 3. To make working with VPS hosting easier, select Options (the screen shot below shows what the dialog window looks like) and go to the Advanced tab. Under the item: If server authentication fails, select the option Connect and don't warn me.
4. Still in the Options window, allow Expert Advisor to be imported from your work computer by selecting the Local Resources tab. Under Local devices and resources, click More. 5. In the window that opens, put a checkmark next to the local disk where you want to save Expert Advisor. In our example, we use Local Disk (Ñ:). Then click OK. Important! Connected local disks are only available to a connected client, not to company employees. Company employees do not have access to the list of files on the connected disk and cannot copy data from it.
6. Now close the Options window and click Connect. You will be asked to enter your username and password to connect to the remote desktop. By default you will be offered your current Windows 7 account. Click Switch user and enter the VPS username and password you received by email. Then click OK.
7. If you entered your information correctly, you will see a window with your remote desktop on the EXNESS VPS server with the ÌÒ4 terminal already installed.
Installing Expert Advisor with VPS Hosting 1. To install Expert Advisor, log in to your account on the VPS server. 2. If you have already entered your settings for viewing local disks from your account, proceed to Step 3. If not, enter the settings as explained in Steps 4 and 5 under Connect to the Remote Desktop above. 3. To install Expert Advisor on your remote desktop, click Start Computer.
4. In the window that opens, under Other open your local disk, which looks as follows: <Disk name> on <Local computer name>.
5. Next, find the Expert Advisor files on your local disk and copy them to the folder Computer/ Local Disk (C:)/Program Files (x86)/metatrader-exness/experts, located on the VPS server. 6. Launch MetaTrader from the shortcut on your VPS server desktop and enter your Expert Advisor settings. 7. If your Expert Advisor is in the form of an installer file (with the extension.exe), save it to your remote desktop and inform our Technical Support team that you need Expert Advisor installed. Please provide your account number and the IP address of your remote desktop. Expert Advisor will be installed within one business day, after which you will receive a confirmation email.
1. Change Your VPS Password To change the password you use to access your remote desktop, go to the Control Panel: Start Control Panel.
2. In the window that opens, select User Accounts. 3. In the window that opens, select Change your Windows password.
4. Then select Change your password and follow the system's instructions. 5. Once you change your password, company employees will no longer be able to recover the password for you. From this moment on, you alone control access to your VPS desktop. Important! If you lose your VPS password, you will lose access to all the data on your VPS desktop.
