Customer Case Studies CUSTOMER CHALLENGE: A National Oil Company in Scandinavia wanted to have Wi-Fi coverage on their new build offshore platform to accommodate mobile computing as well as CCTV. Statoil also wanted the ability to quickly deploy lick and stick gas detectors to protect better protect people during construction, commissioning, maintenance activities and special events. HONEYWELL SOLUTION: Honeywell OneWireless network including 29 marine grade Access Points each configured as RAP. CUSTOMER RESULTS: By utilizing wireless enabled remote collaboration technology the Oil Company will be able to reduce the amount of people present on the platform and at the same time dramatically reduce start-up and troubleshooting time. By deploying wireless gas detectors personal safety risk will be reduced to minimum levels. 3
Customer Case Studies CUSTOMER CHALLENGE: Abu Dhabi s $10 billion Shah natural gas project, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. and Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY) needs to protect people from the effects of possible sour gas leaks at the earlier possible time during all phases of the project. HONEYWELL SOLUTION: Honeywell site wide OneWireless network, SafetyNex personal safety solutions, existing of wireless connected personal gas detectors enabling location identification, man down function and 2 way real time text communication. FEED services, project management and start-up services, operator training. CUSTOMER RESULTS: By utilizing these advanced wireless enabled technologies the safety risks to human beings associate to deploy the sour gas field came down to acceptable levels. 4
Customer Case Studies CUSTOMER CHALLENGE: Sinopec wanted to save 50% costs and reduce 60 working days on the project schedule at their Wuhan Ethylene Project. HONEYWELL SOLUTION: Honeywell site wide OneWireless network, 7 redundant gateways, 290 XYR6000 wireless transmitters natively integrated into Experion DCS, wireless enabled Mobile Station. CUSTOMER RESULTS: On time to schedule, project costs within budget, reduced opex by increased operator efficiency thanks to wireless enabled mobile station technology. 5
Customer Case Studies CUSTOMER CHALLENGE: A refinery owned by a JV between a major Saudi Arabian and an American Oil Company wanted to increase effectiveness on emergency response. The wireless surveillance solution has to enable tracking unforeseen incidents at its Yanbu refinery in Saudi Arabia. The solution captures and records video of any plant safety incidents such as fires and accidents, to help continuously improve plant safety. HONEYWELL SOLUTION: Honeywell site wide OneWireless network, 38 Access Points, vehicle mounted camera, DVM, FEED services, project management and start-up services, operator training. CUSTOMER RESULTS: Increased effectiveness on emergency response, improved plant safety records. 6
