1. Preface Kony Visualizer Enterprise Install Guide for Windows 1. Preface Kony Platform provides an integrated approach in the design, development and management of mobile applications. The Platform facilitates the design and development of mobile applications in a device independent manner and delivers them in different formats that run on all the major device platforms. 1.1 Purpose This document explains how to install Kony Platform, including Kony Visualizer and additional software on your Windows computer, using an installer program. 1.2 Intended Audience This document is intended for engineers or developers who are responsible for installing and configuring Kony Visualizer. 3. Prerequisites Kony Visualizer Enterprise Install Guide for Windows 3. Prerequisites The following are the requirements needed to complete the installation process. They include the hardware, software, and other general and specific prerequisites required to complete the process. 3.1 System Requirements This section helps you to understand the system requirements and necessary software before installing Kony Visualizer. 3.1.1 Software Requirements Download the Kony Visualizer Enterprise Installer from the community site. Operating System Software Requirements Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, and Windows 7. Supports 64-bit Operating Systems KonyVisualizerInstall.exe (Mandatory) SDKs and Emulators (Optional) Note: Download only those SDKs for which you would develop applications. Relevant download URLs are provided in the Installing SDKs and Configuring Emulators section. 3.1.2 Hardware Requirements Component Requirement Processor and Architecture Dual Core processor, 64-bit Memory 8 GB 2017 by Kony, Inc. Prerequisites Kony Visualizer Enterprise Install Guide for Windows Component Requirement Internal Storage 150 GB Network Ethernet Port 3.2 General Prerequisites Administrative rights on your computer to install Kony Visualizer. The default installation folder for Kony Visualizer is C:\KonyVisualizer. During the installation, you can choose a different location if you wish. The available space in the system should be at least three times the size of the installer. The Visualizer installer requires HTTP (direct or proxied) access during the execution of the installation process. 3.2.1 Android Specific Following are the prerequisites to build an Android N app: JDK version must be 1.8.0_112 JDK install location must be <Install Drive>:\KonyVisualizerEnterprise8.x.x\Java\jdk Note: By default, Kony Visualizer Enterprise installs JDK 1.8.0_112. The default installation folder for JDK is <Install Drive>:\KonyVisualizerEnterprise8.x.x\Java\jdk 2017 by Kony, Inc. All rights reserved 9 of 38

Prerequisites Kony Visualizer Enterprise Install Guide for Windows 3.3 Install SDKs and Configuring Emulators In Kony Visualizer to build and test applications, you must install platform specific software development kits (SDKs). The platform specific SDKs which are supported in Kony are Android SDK, ios SDK, and Windows SDK. You must also install the emulators for each platform. Installation of SDKs is mandatory for building your applications, you may install them even before you install Kony Visualizer. When you are installing Kony Visualizer, the installation wizard checks for the availability of the Android SDK. In the Prerequisites window that appears during the installation of Kony Visualizer, provide the path where the Android SDK is installed. Click a platform for instructions on how to install and configure it. ios SDK and Emulator Android SDK and Emulator Windows SDK and Emulator Note: You can install SDKs and Emulators after Kony Visualizer is installed. However, you must install the corresponding SDK before you build and test an application. Important: If you installed Kony Visualizer before installing Android SDK, add Android SDK environment variables manually. If Android SDK was installed before installing Kony Visualizer, Visualizer detects the presence of the Android SDK and adds the necessary environment variables automatically. Download the Kony Visualizer Enterprise Installer from the community site. The installer is downloaded as a zip file to your computer. 2. Extract the contents of the zip file. 3. Double-click KonyVisualizerEnterprise-<version>.exe file. The installer extracts the files. After few minutes, the Kony Visualizer Introduction pane appears. 4. Click Next. The License Agreement pane appears. 5. Read the License Agreement. If you accept the terms of the agreement, click I accept the terms of the License Agreement radio button and then click Next. The Prerequisites pane appears. 6. The Prerequisites pane displays the prerequisites needed to install and use Kony Visualizer. Choose - Click Choose... to select the folder on the drive where Android SDK is installed. b. Restore Default Folder - After you chose a folder, if you want to install the SDK in the default folder provided by the installer, click this button. c. Click Next. Important: The SDK availability information provided in this pane is for information only and is not required to install Kony Visualizer. You can install the required SDKs after finishing the installation. 7. Ensure the information in Prerequisites page is correct and click Next. If SDK is not present in the provided path, an Invalid SDK Path dialog appears. 8. Click Proceed to continue without installing Android SDK. The Download Sources pane appears. The pane provides links to the required platform SDKs. Click on the links to download and install the SDKs. 9. Click Next. The Choose Install Folder pane appears. 10. Type or select the path to install the Kony Visualizer. The default location is the C:\KonyVisualizerEnterprise<version> folder. 2017 by Kony, Inc. All rights reserved 13 of 38

Choose - Click Choose... to select a folder on the drive where you want to install Kony Visualizer. b. Restore Default Folder - After you chose a folder for installation, if you want to install Kony Visualizer in the default folder provided by the installer, click this button. 11. Click Next. A Summary pane appears to help you review the selected settings. Ensure that the information that appears is correct. If not, click Previous and go back to correct what needs to be corrected. 12. Click Install. The Installing pane appears. 13. After the installation is complete, the Proxy Settings pane appears. The pane provides a QR code to download the Kony Visualizer App Viewer application. Scan the QR code to download the app. Note: The QR code is developed using a third party library, QRCode.js (version 0.0.1 & license). This is not bundled with the app. This library is bundled with Kony Visualizer Installer. 15. You can choose to select Launch Kony Visualizer and click Done. Kony Visualizer sends anonymous usage data to Kony. The intent is to use this data to help Kony better understand how the application is being used. To turn off anonymous usage data collection in Kony Visualizer, deselect the necessary check box under Window> Preferences> Kony Visualizer. 2017 by Kony, Inc. All rights reserved 15 of 38

Post Installation Tasks Launch Kony Visualizer Update Kony Visualizer Enterprise Auto Update Process Memory Cleaning Revert to Previous Version 5.1 Launch Kony Visualizer Enterprise The installer creates shortcuts to the Kony Visualizer on the desktop and in the install folder. You can launch Kony Visualizer using the shortcut. To launch Kony Visualizer, follow these steps: 1. Double-click the Kony Visualizer shortcut on the desktop. Note: You could also navigate to the folder where Kony Visualizer is installed and doubleclick the Kony Visualizer shortcut to launch Kony Visualizer. 2. The applications you create in the IDE are saved in the workspace. A workspace can have any number of applications. The default workspace has some sample applications. 3. The default workspace is C:/Users/<User Folder>/Kony/VizEWS. It is a good idea to choose this workspace as this contains the sample applications to start with. The workspace is created only once, even if you install multiple instances of Kony Visualizer and is not deleted when you uninstall Kony Visualizer (allowing you to use the applications created in the workspace in another instance of Kony Visualizer). If you are an advanced user, you can create your own workspace. 4. Click OK. The launch process continues. 5. On launching Kony Visualizer Enterprise, the Kony Cloud Sign in screen appears for license validation. Enter your Kony Cloud credentials and click Login. Kony Visualizer Enterprise validates the Enterprise license associated with your Kony Cloud account. 2017 by Kony, Inc. All rights reserved 18 of 38

The screen provides a QR code to download the Kony Visualizer App Viewer application. Scan the QR code to download the app. Note: The QR code is developed using a third party library, QRCode.js (version 0.0.1 & license). This is not bundled with the app. This library is bundled with Kony Visualizer Installer. 7. Next, a welcome screen appears. The welcome screen displays links to videos that explain the features of Kony Visualizer. 8. Close the welcome screen. After the screen guide is complete a Sample application loads in the application canvas. Note: For more information on working with Kony Visualizer, see Visualizer User Guide. 5.2 Update Kony Visualizer Enterprise This part of the Kony Visualizer Install Guide provides you with the information you need to update Kony Visualizer. 5.2.1 Auto Update Process This section explains about the auto update feature in Kony Visualizer. Kony releases an update package with consolidated plug-ins on a regular basis. When Kony releases an update, you will receive an update notification on Visualizer instance which prompts you to update Kony Visualizer. There are two kinds of updates mandatory and non-mandatory. The grace period for mandatory updates is five days. For non-mandatory updates, there is no grace period, however, you will see clear visual indication of how out of date your visualizer is. Automatic updates can be turned off but this is not recommended because this causes visualizer to go out of sync with regular product updates. 2017 by Kony, Inc. All rights reserved 20 of 38

Click Updates from Kony Visualizer drop-down. The Updates pane appears. The pane displays a list of options which enable you to update Kony Visualizer according to the respective time lines. These settings apply only for non-mandatory updates. The default value is Moderate, but you can choose Early to receive updates immediately upon release and Late to receive an update after 60 days of the plugin's release. 2017 by Kony, Inc. Post Installation Tasks Kony Visualizer Enterprise Install Guide for Windows If you have chosen Moderate or Late as your option, you can still install the latest plugin by going to Help > Check for Updates and download the latest update if available. If you want to disable the auto update feature, check the Turn off auto updates option. Turning off auto updates will ensure that no forced updates occur. This is not recommended as mentioned before. Note: Even if you turn off the Auto updates, you will still receive a reminder every time you launch Kony Visualizer that you are xx days out of date. 4. Click Apply. 5. Click OK to dismiss the Preferences pane. 6. Restart Kony Visualizer for the changes to take effect. Note: Kony Visualizer displays a notification when the new updates are available. To update Kony Visualizer, follow these steps: 1. Click Update Now on the notification bar. The Install pane appears. For mandatory updates, you can skip the update for five days. After five days, you must update to access the build features in Kony Visualizer. When you click View Release Notes, information on New Features, a list of Fixed issues, and Known issues (if any) for the recommended Kony Visualizer update appears in a web browser. You can find release notes information for the current version of Kony Visualizer installed on your computer by navigating to Help > Release Notes in Kony Visualizer File menu. 2017 by Kony, Inc. Important: If you are a mandatory user and if you do not update Visualizer within the stipulated time period, you will not be able to use Visualizer. 5.2.2 Memory Cleaning In this section you will understand how to remove any older versions of Kony Visualizer. In case you feel that the Kony Visualizer is occupying a lot of space, you can reduce the bloat by using the plugin-cleaner.jar. The default is the absolute path to <source>/duplicates-<timestamp>. -r, --remove: Removes unused plug-ins. -t, --test: Enables a dry run mode, where, no action will be taken. (For example: Version 8 Service Pack 1 Fix Pack 8 = 8.1.8) To backup unused plug-ins: java -jar plugin-cleaner.jar -d "backup" -v 8.X.X To delete unused plug-ins: java -jar plugin-cleaner.jar -r -v 8.X.X 5.2.2.2 Known Limitations of the plugin After you do the cleanup of plug-ins using this tool, navigate to Eclipse, choose `Window > Show View > Error Log` and check if any required bundles are missing as you have completed the cleanup. If so, simply move the missing required plug-ins from the unused plug-ins folder back to your Kony_Visualizer_Enterprise\plugins folders. This script should be used only when you are on the latest version of Visualizer Enterprise and not on a reverted version. Problems with Kony Visualizer installation In case there were problems with your installation, install complete page shows a warning and the logs location i.e. path to the installation directory In case the installation is canceled, the logs are generated in either desktop or installation path. o If you cancel the installation before Choose Install Folder screen, the logs are generated in desktop. o If you cancel the installation after Choose Install Folder screen, the logs are generated in the installation folder. Visualizer displays improper Workspace Error You may encounter this issue when you accidentally click on the launch button twice. An Improper Workspace error is displayed as two instances try to access the same workspace. To resolve the error, close the error window and any other related window that is open and re-launch Kony Visualizer. Kony Visualizer does not reflect the latest Android SDK available You will encounter this issue only if you are using an Android SDK version that is currently not supported by Kony Visualizer.
