Purple Briefcase Faculty/Staff User Guide 1. Log into Purple Briefcase via the Applied Learning and Career Center s homepage or via https://app.purplebriefcase.com/pb/account/login?s=sunybroome 2. If you have already logged into your Purple Briefcase account before, enter your login information. If this is your first time logging into purple briefcase, click New Student.
3. Once you have clicked New Student, click the drop down bar next to I am a/an and select Faculty/Staff. Then enter your information and click, FIND ME. 4. From here, enter your information and click, Create a Pending Account.
5. Enter the information prompted, then click Submit. Your pending account will be created and then approved by the ALCC. 6. Once you are logged into your Purple Briefcase account and brought to the home screen below. From here you can navigate to the different areas through the tiles or the my briefcase sidebar.
7. Click on My Profile to get things started. From here to you can add headshot, add your elevator pitch, skills, job preferences and more. To add a photo, click on the Add a Photo Tile and a screen will pop up, click choose file. Once you have chosen your photo, click upload photo.
To add a tile, click on Add Tile, then select the type of tile you would like to add and any other information prompted.
Click the About You tile to edit it and make it personal.
8. At the bottom of the My Profile page there are more ways to customize your profile. Click here to add an alternate email address Click here to link your website, LinkedIn or a class website Click here to bookmark a resume Click here to edit your settings, including changing your password. Once you are finished setting up your profile, click Settings to make your profile Visible 9. Utilize the various tools on the side bar to build your profile. As you do so, your score percentage will increase. To check your progress, click My Score on the toolbar.
10. Click on Career Path to use the O*Net Interest Profiler. Students can have their results analyzed by making an appointment with a Career Counselor in Student Services 210. 11. Click on My Events to see career related events happening on or off campus.
12. Click Companies to see the various employers and companies registered in Purple Briefcase. Click under My Internships or My Jobs to search for internship and job opportunities that may be of interest to your students. Jobs - use this tab to see jobs employers have posted specifically for SUNY Broome students Internships - use this tab to see internships posted specifically for SUNY Broome students On Campus Interviewing - use this tab to see any on campus interviews being hosted by local employers. Search Indeed - use this tab to search jobs through indeed.com, which is a national job posting site. My Activity - use this tab to keep track or your current applications and activity.
13. If you are utilizing the experiential learning component of Purple Briefcase, click on Experiential Learning. Here you can view your current activities, create email templates, and create communication plans. If you have questions, contact Gina Chase at chasegm@sunybroom.edu or 607-778-5717 14. To create an email template, click email templates. Click Create an Email Template. Then, enter the information prompted including email name, who to send the email to, the date and time to send it, the email subject, and the email body. When you are done, click save email.
15. To create a communication plan, click communication plan, then click Create a Plan. From here you can create communication plans using email templates you have already created. When done, click save plan. 16. Click on My Prep to find tools to help your students or yourself prep for an interview.
17. Click on My Links, My Channels, and Career Chats to find different resources in relation to applied learning and career readiness.
18. Students looking to make an appointment with the ALCC should click on Career Experts to contact an expert here in the Applied Learning and Career Center. Meet with Gina if you are: STEM- Eng.
