EXPERTISE INDUSTRY PARTNERS - POYNTING www.poyntingcommercial.com www.temic.co.za EXPERTISE INDUSTRY PARTNERS - TEMIC Poynting Antennas (Pty) Ltd Founded by Dr André Fourie in 2001, Poynting has roughly 50 employees with 2 Ph.D engineers and a strong R&D team. Poynting designs, manufactures and sells cellular antenna products and related equipment mainly to the telecommunications, broadcasting and related industries. With extensive Intellectual Property (IP) with over 50 patents, trademarks and registered designs, Poynting has grown to become one of the leading antenna manufacturers in South Africa. Poynting specialises in the Cellular and Wireless Data markets and supplies antennas and associated products to large scale users and wireless data networks covering: Cellular or Fixed Wireless Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) antennas and access products for 2G/3G/4G and LTE to provide superior data/internet and voice services. These products comprise omni and directional antennas using innovative antenna designs to cover extremely wide frequency bands and MIMO dual antenna systems for LTE and 4G systems. The Poynting CCS division specialises in Small cell base station technology solutions - designed to address network and throughput challenges. These base station concealment solutions are designed to serve as fillers - to drive and deliver throughput in high density areas. Poynting s Skunkworks Division serves as the innovation hub for Poynting, From a solar powered television kit and affordable routers to smartphones for Africa, this division is responsible for furthering Poynting s promise of Making Wireless Happen. TEMIC was established through a joint venture undertaking between Poynting (PTY) Ltd and Lawrence Global Manufacturing primarily for the local production of the DigiAnt digital TV antenna. The production of the DigiAnt, which was recently chosen as one of the products that will be supplied as part of the USAASA digital migration tender, marks a milestone in South Africa s progress towards digital migration and it brings great opportunity for social and economic development in the Tshwane East area. Economic Development through Incubation: Tshwane East Manufacturing Incubation Centre The Incubation Centre is strategically located to be accessible for the Eersterust, Mamelodi, Nellmaphius and surrounding areas. Through the enterprise development programme of TEMIC, SMMEs will be incubated to partake meaningfully in the business and manufacturing opportunities emanating from the massive Broadcasting Digital Migration to be implemented in South Africa as well as other African countries. The Incubation Centre also promotes the development of small businesses involved in the production of high pressure aluminium die casting and steel fabrication products. TEMIC is accelerating SMME development by providing support to small, medium and micro enterprises over a three year incubation period. PROUD TO DELIVER GOVERNANCE TEAM PROUD TO DELIVER GOVERNANCE TEAM Landi Radebe Founder and Director With a National Diploma in Cost & Management Accounting from Wits Technikon, Landi also furthered his education through doing a BCTA at UJ. For the last 15 years, he held various financial positions within companies such as Vodacom, PRASA and Transnet. Imabase was born after Landi, who worked within the telecommunications and infrastructure industries, became passionate about finding better solutions to provide infrastructure services and connectivity for Africa. Beth Komu Chief Technology Officer Beth is a telecommunications engineer at Poynting specialising in technology research and technical test and analysis in product development. She holds an MTech in Electrical Engineering majoring in Telecommunications from Tshwane University of Technology and an MSc in Electronic Engineering from French graduate school of engineering, ESIEE Paris. She has extensive professional knowledge and experience of digital TV technologies and mobile networks. Dr André Fourie Technology Partner Tsholofelo Ndlovu Chief Financial Officer Dr Fourie has a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering as well as a Ph.D. from Wits University. He is the founder and CEO of Poynting with more than 25 years experience in the engineering and telecommunications industries. Tsholofelo holds a BCom degree in Internal Auditing and Accounting from the University of Pretoria and is the Financial Manager for Poynting Direct. She has more than 5 years experience in auditing and financial management. Eduard Walker Non-Executive Business Development and Sales With a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Eduard is currently the SkunkWorks Business Unit Director at Poynting as well as the CEO of TEMIC. His experience includes project engineering, general management and extensive business development with the fulfilment of various roles within Poynting over the last 12 years.
