1 Loading Software on to USB Flash Drive 1. The latest Pixel software can be downloaded from the Elevator Controls website (elevatorcontrols.com/downloads/download) a user name and password is required. Please contact technical support for user name and password (800-829-8106). The software can also be sent via email in a zip file, typically named Pixel(version #).zip (approximate size 3-10MB) 2. Once you have received the file from Elevator Controls, copy the attached Pixel(version).zip file to your USB Flash drive (USB Flash drive minimum size 256MB). Example: 3. Using your mouse right click the Pixel(version).zip file and select Extract All (Windows XP unzip wizard shown below), then follow the on screen instructions on the Extraction Wizard or you may use another program to unzip the folder (Winzip, Winrar, 7-Zip etc.). Note: This is very important as the files are compressed and must be unzipped prior to using for updating Pixel Controller software. 4. Select Next button on the Extraction Wizard window. Page 1 of 12
5. Change the directory that the files will be extracted to so that they are placed directly onto the USB Flash Drive. In this example the USB is on the E: drive. Then select the Next button. The Extraction Complete window will appear and select the Finish button. Extract directly onto USB Flash Drive 6. A window will be displayed called Pixel. Verify this folder has the files required for updating the software. The approximate size of the Pixel folder once unzipped is 10-16MB. Double click the version.txt file and it will give you the Pixel software version. Note: If possible use a USB Flash drive that is 2 inches or less in length. This small form factor installs into the USB port on the P-MP board more easily. The extracted folder must be named Pixel Typical files located in the extracted Pixel folder Page 2 of 12
