New features for Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Introduction to Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Release 10.0(1) Note If you do not find a document for a specific release, use the document from the previous release. New versions of documents are posted only when the content changes between releases. New features for Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Support for Live Data Reports Unified Intelligence Center supports Live Data reports. Live Data reports are updated asynchronously from the Java Message Service (JMS) bus. Live Data reports are supported only for Packaged CCE and Unified CCX deployments. Note Ensure that you set the client time synchronized to your Live Data server time through NTP server to get accurate data. Support for Java Message Service (JMS) data source Unified Intelligence Center supports the Java Message Service (JMS) as a data source for Live Data reporting. Time zone enhancement Unified Intelligence Center supports relative dates formatted to the user time zone. Changed features for Cisco Unified Intelligence Center The following features have changed in this release: Cisco Security Agent The Cisco Security Agent (CSA) is no longer available for use. If you enter a command to enable, disable, or check the status of the CSA, a message appears informing you that the command cannot be executed. Refresh of collection values in Report filter In Report filter page, the refresh list will be disabled if the user does not have permission to access the value lists. Support of collections as variable parameter in Permalink Unified Intelligence Center supports inclusion of collection names as variable parameters to the existing permalink. 2

Introduction to Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Release 10.0(1) Unsupported features for Live Data reporting Unsupported features for Live Data reporting The following features are not available for Live Data reporting in the 10.0(1) release: Grouping Scheduling Exporting to Excel Print Drilldown Customizing Live Data reports Gauge and Charts for Live Data reports XML and Excel permalinks System requirements Live Data reports does not support horizontal scrolling. Cisco recommends that you remove few columns from the report using the column selector icon or resize the columns manually. The Hardware and System Software Specification (Bill of Materials) for Cisco Unified Intelligence Center is posted on the Cisco.com website. You can find the Cisco Unified Communications Compatibility Tool for the various Cisco Unified Communications System (UCS) releases at: http://tools.cisco.com/itdit/vtgsca/vtgservlet. Download installation file from Cisco website Important notes You can download the installation ISO file and Stock Templates from the Download Software page on Cisco.com. Upgrading VMware tools This process of upgrading VMware tools is applicable only for Unified Intelligence Center Systems running on Unified Communications System virtualized hardware. VMware Tools are specialized drivers for virtual hardware that are installed in the Unified Communications (UC) applications when they are running in the virtualized environment. The VMware tools version running in the UC application must be in sync with the version of ESXi being used. The methods that the UC applications use to upgrade the VMware Tools are given in the UCS Virtualization Wiki. Unified Intelligence Center supports upgrading VMware Tools using the command: utils vmtools upgrade. To know more about the command syntax, see Appendix A: Command Line Interface in the Administration Console User Guide for Cisco Unified Intelligence Center. 3

Important notes Introduction to Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Release 10.0(1) Upgrade from Unified Intelligence Center 9.0(x) to Unified Intelligence Center 10.0(1) When upgrading from Unified Intelligence Center 9.0(x) to 10.0(1) through the CLI, the upgrade can hang displaying the following status: [Accessing the file. Please wait ], requiring a fresh install of the system before the upgrade can be completed. A workaround is to initiate an upgrade from the cmplatform web interface. Perform the following steps to ensure that the upgrade from the CLI does not hang. 1 Log in to Unified Intelligence Center using the root user access and run the following command: cp /usr/local/platform/jar/ciscocommon.jar /opt/cisco/cuic/lib/ciscocommon.jar. 2 In a virtual machine (VM) environment, before upgrading from Unified Intelligence Center 9.0(x) to Unified Intelligence Center 10.0(1), ensure that you upgrade the VMware Tools. Follow these steps to upgrade VMware Tools on ESXi 5.1: a b c d e Use the CLI command "utils vmtools status", before VMTools upgrade, to verify the current version of the tool. Check whether it displays the version 4.0.0-164007. Mount Guest: Right click the VM Machine > Guest > Install/Upgrade VMware Tools. From the Administration console, run the CLI command utils vmtools upgrade, and restart the VM. Verify that the VMware Tools status shows Running (Current). After the successful VMtool upgrade, use the CLI command utils vmtools status to verify the VMware Tool upgraded version. It should display: 9.0.0-782409. f Start upgrade from Unified Intelligence Center 9.0(x) to Unified Intelligence Center 10.0(1). Note If Step 2 is not performed in a VM deployment before an upgrade is started, the upgrade cannot be completed unless the Unified Intelligence Center server is freshly installed with Unified Intelligence Center 9.0(x). 3 When the VMware Tools is upgraded, use the CLI to start the upgrade. Reports for Non-Daylight savings time In Unified Intelligence Center, if you execute a historical report during the daylight savings time period to get data for a non-daylight savings time period, the report fields will display data that is early by an hour. For example, if you execute a report on April 12, 2013 with date time filter set from 1:00:00 a.m. to 1:59:59 a.m., December 12, 2012, the report will display information from 12:00:00 a.m. to 12:59:59 a.m. on December 12 2012, that is one hour earlier. You will notice the same behavior for the entire day when the daylight savings time is set back to the non-daylight savings time period. The reports will have the correct date time range only from the day after that midnight. IE 9.0 support Unified Intelligence Center supports only the IE 9.0 Standard mode and not the IE 9.0 Compatibility mode. To turn off the Compatibility mode settings, choose Tools and uncheck the Compatibility View option. Performance degradation is noticed in Live Data reports having more than 200 rows. For example, the Agent Skill Group report with more than 30 agents, each assigned to 15 skill groups may experience slowness while 4

Introduction to Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Release 10.0(1) Bug search tool scrolling and during other interactions with the report. For best performance, ensure that you limit the number of rows in a report by selecting smaller groups of agents and skills to fit in a single page. XSS vulnerability Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability is addressed in Unified Intelligence Center for release 10.0(1). If a malicious script, pattern, or input is entered into Unified Intelligence Center server, then the server displays a warning message "Malicious Input data detected". For more information, see the 'Security Guidelines' section at: Cisco Unified Intelligence Center Report Customization Guide. Localization The user interface is localized in the following languages: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, European and Canadian French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, and Turkish. Bug search tool Open caveats If you have an account with Cisco.com, you can use the Bug Search tool to find caveats of any severity for any release. Access the Bug Search tool at https://www.cisco.com/cisco/psn/bssprt/bss. Enter the bug identifier in the search box and press return or click Search.
