Inserting the microsd card Operation Instructions This camera only works with a microsd card properly installed. (Not included) In order the keep the camera body small the microsd card socket is very basic. It won t broke with the use but it also requires some little extra care at the moment of inserting the card. This step is critical. Please take a minute to read these instructions and follow step by step. When inserting the microsd card, the golden-colored metallic contacts of the card must face the front of the camera, as seen on the following image: Consider using a tip plier or similar tool to insert the card; because, even if your fingers are very thin, you risk missing the socket and the card going loose inside the camera body. We strongly recommend that you insert the card and don t ever remove it. Use the provided USB cable to transfer the recorded video files. If the card goes into the camera, it will require to unscrew and open the camera body to retrieve the microsd card. Charging This camera includes a built-in rechargeable battery. Please give it a full charge before using the camera for the first time. Charge with a regular USB charger or by connecting to the computer using the provided USB cable. Please read Auto Recording bellow for an important note. While charging, the status led will blink red. When fully charged, the status led will stay solid red. Notes: 1. When the battery is close to empty or the microsd card is full, the status led will alternate on red and blue for 5 seconds and shutdown the camera after saving the current video file 2. Special USB-TV Cable Included The included USB-TV cable can be used to connect the camera to the computer for charging and data transmission. It will also work with an standard USB charger. Recording Modes 720p Video Turn on the camera by pressing the power button for 2 seconds. The status led will turn blue, blink once and stay solid blue. This is the standby mode. Start recording by pressing the power button once. The status led will blink three times then turn off. This is 720p recording mode. The camera will record and save 5 minutes clips on different files. These video files will be named as: MOVI0000.avi, MOVI0001.avi, MOVI0002.avi, and so on. If the microsd cards is full, the older videos will be overwritten by the new ones. Stop recording by pressing the power button once. The status led will turn solid blue (standby mode). Please read Auto Recording bellow for an important note. Notes: 1. On standby mode, the camera will auto shutdown after being idle for one minute 2. At 720p the video files will use around 650 MB of microsd card space for 5 minutes of video 1080p Video Turn on the camera by pressing the power button for 2 seconds. The status led will turn blue, blink once and stay solid blue. This is the standby mode. On standby mode, press the Mode button and the status led will turn solid red and blue. To start recording press the button power. The status led will blink red and blue three times and turn of. This is 1080p recording mode. At 1080p the files will use around 1GB of microsd card space for 5 minutes of video Pictures Turn on the camera by pressing the power button for 2 seconds. The status led will turn blue, blink once and stay solid blue. This is the standby mode. Press Mode button two times. The status led will turn solid red. This is photography mode. To shoot pictures press the power button. The status led will blink once for picture. The pictures will be saved with a 4032x3024 resolution. The camera is 12 megapixels. Press Mode button once to go back to standby mode. Night Vision Mode (Infrared) Turn on the camera and change to 720p or 1080p standby mode. To start the infrared mode, press the power button for 2 seconds. The status led will turn red and blink twice and turn solid blue again. This is Infrared standby mode. Turn off the infrared mode by pressing the power button for 2 seconds. The status led will turn red, blink 3 times and turn solid blue again. This is regular standby mode. Motion Detection Mode In this mode, when the camera sensor detects movement, it will record for 2:15 minutes, stop, save the recording in an individual file and wait for further movement. When the sensor detects movement again, the camera will wake up and record 2:15 minutes, stop, save the file and wait again. These video files will be named as: MOVI0000.avi, MOVI0001.avi, MOVI0002.avi, and so on. If the microsd cards is full, the older videos will be overwritten by the new ones. The status led will turn blue, blink once and turn off again when movement has been detected. Consider covering the led status if recording on stealth conditions. Please, cover it using some removable way as tape or inserting a piece of a toothpick (keep a piece of the toothpick long enough to be able remove it later). Please read Long Term Motion Detection Mode bellow for an important note. 720p In standby mode, press the Mode button for 3 seconds. The status led will alternate red and blue for 3 seconds and then turn off. Motion detection is activated. The camera will record an initial 2:15 minutes and wait for further movement. To stop Motion detection, press the power button once. The led will turn solid blue (standby mode). 1080p In 1080p standby mode press the Mode button for 3 seconds. The status led will blink red, alternate red and blue for 3 seconds and then turn off. Motion detection is activated. The camera will record an initial 2:15 minutes and wait for further movement. To stop Motion detection, press the power button once. The led will turn solid blue and red (1080p standby mode). Auto Recording To start recording automatically, insert the microsd card and plug to an USB charger. The camera will start recording on 720p mode. The status led will turn blue, blink, turn red, then blue again, blink blue 3 times and turn off (720p recording mode). Press power button once to stop recording. The status led will start to blink red (charging mode). This mode is useful when using the camera as a car dash camera. Long Term Motion Detection Mode For recording in Motion Detection mode for more than 40-60 minutes (for example if you want to record your pets while you are at work or for nanny monitoring, etc.) the camera needs to be plugged to an USB charger, because the battery will run out. When the camera is plugged to an USB charger it will automatically start Auto Recording. It is necessary to stop Auto Recording and set Motion detection Mode for long time use: 1. Plug the camera into the USB charger 2. It will start on Auto Recording mode 3. Press the power button once to stop Auto Recording. The status led will turn blinking red (charging mode) or solid red (full charged). 4. Press the Mode button for 3 seconds. The status led will alternate red and blue for 3 seconds and then turn off. Motion detection is activated. TV Mode The yellow plug in the included Special USB cable will output video to a TV. The camera will output to a TV in standby mode, when recording, taking pictures and in Motion Detection mode. Resetting a Hanged Camera If the camera becomes unresponsive, you can hard reset it inserting a metallic clip or similar object in the Reset hole. Power Off Turn off the camera by pressing the power button for 8 seconds in any mode. The status led will blink 3 times and turn off. On standby mode, the camera will auto shutdown after being idle for one minute. Connection to a Computer Using the Special USB Cable provided, connect the camera to the computer. The camera must be off or in standby mode. It will be recognized as a removable USB disk. The camera can be used as any USB storage. It is possible to copy, cut, move and delete the files in the microsd card with your standard computer operating system tools. While the camera is connected to the computer the battery will charge. Time Setting & Watermarking for Video Files To set the date & time in the videos, connect the camera to the computer and edit or create a file named TIMERSET.txt. The timerset.txt file must have the contents in this format: YYYYMMDDHHMMSS Y date & time watermark the videos (y / n) For example: 20180101000000 Y Will set the date to 2018 Jan 1st and the time to midnight. The Y part will watermark the videos with the date and time stamp of recording. Specially useful when recording in Motion detection mode. Set the date & time to any date if you choose N as the second part.
