SYSTIMAX Structured Cabling Systems Family of Cords Quality Stranded and Solid Cords That Connect Data and Voice Circuits Lucent Technologies Family of Stranded Cords includes 110 patch, modular and adapter cords. The 110 Patch Cords, D8SA Modular Cords, and various Adapter Cords provide for the administration and interconnection of data and voice circuits. Designed for straightforward administration, these cords meet the increasing demand for reliability and the transmission performance requirements of evolving bandwidth hungry network applications. These cords are better 110 Patch Cords, D8SA Modular Cords, and Adapter Cords matched to the impedance of the 1061C+/ 2061B+/2061D+ cable, minimizing signal reflections, and creating more robust data transmission. Low Structural Return Loss of the cords improves cable balance which lowers the magnitude of signal reflections and contributes to better transmission. These cords are manufactured with Lucent Technologies data grade 1074 cordage. This cordage consists of 24 gauge, stranded copper conductors insulated with high density polyethylene.

The insulated conductors are tightly twisted into individual pairs and jacketed with flame retardant PVC. The 1074 cordage exceeds TIA/EIA 568A Category 5 requirements for cords used for patching and also in the work area and telecommunications closet as equipment cables. To take this one step further, the 1074 cordage exceeds Pair-to-Pair Near End Crosstalk (NEXT) to the extent that, even when using the more stringent Power Sum calculation method for backbone cable, the cordage still passes the NEXT requirements. The extra performance margin of these cords ensures that your network will be ready for today s applications and emerging technology such as 622 Mbps ATM using parallel transmission schemes. 110 Patch Cord 110 Patch Cords The Category 5 110 Patch Cords, available in 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-pair sizes, mate with the front of the 110 Connecting Block and feature a built-in exclusion to prevent accidental polarity reversals and split pairs. Each plug includes an international symbol marking 1 to indicate the side of the plug that faces up. The 110 Patch Cord plugs incorporate Lucent Technologies 110P8CAT5 Patch Cord on 110 Patch Panel Terminal Block patented cross-over concept which employs crosstalk cancellation techniques within the plug body to provide superior NEXT performance. The 110 Patch Cords are ideal for high activity patching environments. Modular Cords The D8SA Modular Cords utilize 1074 cordage and are factory connectorized with 8-pin modular plugs. These modular cords can be used for 8-position modular patching applications to interconnect various data terminal devices and to connect high-speed data terminal devices to information outlets. Adapter Cords Adapter Cords are factory connectorized with your choice of an 8-pin modular plug, an MIC connector, and/or a 110 patch cord plug. These cords also feature 1074 cordage and can be used to interconnect various electronic devices and connect consolidation point to information outlets. The number of conductors and the length of cordage, including an unterminated option, is based on the anticipated use of the cord. The wiring assignment for the modular plug (T568B) is: light blue on pin 5 blue on pin 4 white on pin 1 orange on pin 2 light green on pin 3 green on pin 6 light brown on pin 7 brown on pin 8 The wiring assignment for the 120 adapter cord from the 110 patch plug to the modular plug is pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2, pin 3 to pin 3 and pin 4 to pin 6. The wiring assignment for the MIC connector is light blue on the green pin, blue on the red pin, light green on the black pin, green on the orange pin. The 110 patch plug is wired with the straight color code. Adapter Cords Cord Number Connection 114 MIC to MIC 115 MIC to unterminated end 117 8 pin modular plug to unterminated end 118 MIC to 8 pin modular plug 119 4 pair 110 patch plug to 8 pin modular plug 120 2 pair 110 patch plug to 8 pin modular plug

Open Office Architecture Modular Cords Modular Cords That Support Distribution Hardware and Information Outlets D8NA nonplenum and D8PA plenum cords are solid conductor connectorized cords designed for use in open office cabling applications as are the stranded D8SA and 117 cords. These Category 5 cords are designed to support both the distribution hardware and information outlets required in an open office environment. The information outlets are connected to consolidation point distribution hardware allowing for 25 pair cable to be extended from the telecommunication closet to the consolidation point distribution hardware. D8NA Patch Cord The individual four pair cords extend to the work station from the consolidation point hardware. The D8PA modular plug is clear light blue in color and has D8PA molded into the plug along with Lucent Technologies. The D8NA modular plug is clear in color and has D8NA molded into the plug along with Lucent Technologies. Solid Cord Features Complies with the Category 5 requirements specified in TIA/EIA 568A Certified SYSTIMAX Structured Cabling Systems (SCS) Components UL listed, CSA and Austel approved Meets SYSTIMAX SCS Power Sum specifications D8PA Patch Cord Solid Cord Advantages Fully supports data rates @ 100 meters over UTP for applications with data rates up to 155 Mbps Reliable connection for high data rate transmission and high-activity environments Line moves and circuit rearrangements are quick and simple
