It has been divided int 3 manageable sectins; Old Server, New Server, Wrkstatins. If at any stage yu encunter any errrs please cntact MedicalDirectr Custmer Care n 1300 788 802. This guide nly cvers the installatin and mving f MedicalDirectr-related data and cmpnents. Yu may need t install ther third-party sftware such as that used fr dwnlading pathlgy results. Mving yur MedicalDirectr Clinical / PracSft Data t a New Server Befre yu Begin Please cntact yur System Administratr if yu need assistance with the fllwing: External hard drive r ther media fr mving the data frm the ld server t the new server Ensure yu have the latest full MedicalDirectr Clinical/PracSft disc/iso release Ensure yu have lgged int Windws with lcal Administrative privileges Yur MedicalDirectr PracSft Stre passwrd, r Medicare Australia Lcatin Certificate disc and PIC Passphrase If yu participate in MedicalDirectr GPRN yu will need the MedicalDirectr GPRN Installer. If yu use a Secure Message Delivery (SMD) service, please cntact yur prvider fr assistance with recnfiguring the service. If yu receive investigatins results electrnically, please cntact yur prvider fr assistance with recnfiguring the service. Determine yur installed versin f MedicalDirectr Clinical/PracSft 1. Open MedicalDirectr Clinical r PracSft 2. Select Help > Abut, and nte the Installed versin Determine yur installed versin f the MDref drug database 1. Open MedicalDirectr Clinical 2. Select Resurces > What s New in MDref, and nte the Mnth (which indicates the installed versin) Please Nte: If the ld server is t becme a wrkstatin please cntact MedicalDirectr Custmer Care fr the apprpriate dcument Cnverting a Server int a Wrkstatin. On the Old Server 1. Turn ff Scheduled Dcument Imprt (SDI) 1.1. Open MedicalDirectr Maintenance 1.2. Select Database Tasks > MedicalDirectr Clinical 1.3. Run the Manage Cmmunicatins utility 1.4. Within the Manage Cmmunicatins utility, set Imprt Database t Disabled 2. Turn ff Online Appintments 2.1. Open Services.msc 2.2. Lcate and right-click HCN Online Appintments 2.3. Chse Prperties 2.4. Change Start-up Type t Disabled 2.5. Press Stp t stp the service and OK t save and clse 3. Clear the MD Exchange Registratin 3.1. Yu will need t cntact MedicalDirectr Custmer Care n 1300 788 802 3.2. Prvide the Old Server Name and New Server Name 4. Backup the MedicalDirectr Data 4.1. Open MedicalDirectr Maintenance 4.2. Select Maintenance Tasks > Cmmn 4.3. Mving yur MedicalDirectr Clinical / PracSft Data t a New Server 5. Cpy the HCN backup t External Media 5.1. Cpy the HCN Backup t an external drive Default backup lcatin is C:\HCN\Backups. 6. Backup the HIC.PSI (MedicalDirectr PracSft users nly) 6.1. Cpy the hic.psi file t the external drive (MedicalDirectr PracSft users nly) 6.2. Default installed lcatin 32 Bit OS - C:\Prgram Files\Cmmn Files\ PKI 64 Bit OS - C:\Prgram Files x86\cmmn Files\PKI On the New Server 1. Install MedicalDirectr Clinical/PracSft 1.1. Install the sftware using the latest full versin release disc/iso. 1.2. Apply any applicatin updates t match the current versin installed n the wrkstatins As determined in the Befre yu Begin sectin abve Update via MedicalDirectr Autmatic Update, r by dwnlading frm the MedicalDirectr website 1.3. Apply MDref updates t match the wrkstatin s current MDref versin As determined in the Befre yu Begin sectin abve Update via MedicalDirectr Autmatic Update, r by dwnlading frm the MedicalDirectr Website Please Nte: If the installed versin is n lnger available fr dwnlad via MedicalDirectr Autmatic Update r frm the MedicalDirectr website, yu will need t update the server and wrkstatins t the current versin, manually. 2. Restre the HCN Data 2.1. Cpy the backup frm the external media t the lcal machine 2.2. Open HCN Maintenance 2.3. Select Maintenance Tasks > Cmmn 2.4. Run the Restre utility 3. Reset the Manage Ezy Paths 3.1. Open HCN Maintenance 3.2. Select Maintenance Tasks 3.3. Run the Cnfiguratin utility 3.4. Within the Cnfiguratin list, select yur Live Data, and then; Fr MD/PS 3.14 and later: Click the Update buttn, and then when prmpted click the Use UNC Path buttn. MD/PS 3.12 and earlier: Select the ManageEzy Tab. Click the Update buttn, and then when prmpted click the Use UNC Path buttn. 4. Restre the MedicalDirectr PracSft HIC.PSI (MedicalDirectr PracSft users nly) 4.1. Mving yur MedicalDirectr Clinical / PracSft Data t a New Server 5. Cnfigure Schedule Dcument Imprt (SDI) 5.1. Open HCN Maintenance 5.2. Select Database Tasks > MedicalDirectr Clinical 5.3. Run the Manage Cmmunicatins utility 5.4. Set the Imprt Database t HCN Live Data 5.5. Setup Data Transfer tab, ensure the fllwing are ticked fr SDI and Manual MD Messages MDX MD Directry Yu may need t setup mre cnfiguratins in the future nce yur pathlgy sftware is installed. 6. Register MD Exchange This can be cmpleted when pening MedicalDirectr Clinical, r 6.1. Select Tls > MD Exchange > Register fr MD Exchange 6.2. Fllw the prmpts t cmplete the registratin 7. Cnfigure MedicalDirectr PracSft fr Online Claiming 7.1. Open MedicalDirectr PracSft. If yu are presented with errrs regarding nline claiming, click OK t these. 7.2. Within MedicalDirectr PracSft select Setup > Wrkstatin Settings. 7.3. Select the Online Claiming tab. 7.4. Click the ellipse buttn and brwse t the lcatin f the hic.psi n the New Server. 7.5. Select Save > Clse and repen MedicalDirectr PracSft. MedicalDirectr PracSft shuld nw pen withut errrs. If yu are presented with any errr, please cntact MedicalDirectr Custmer Care n 1300 788 802. On the Wrkstatins 1. Update the Wrkstatin Cnfiguratin 1.1. Open HCN Maintenance 1.2. Select Maintenance Tasks 1.3. Run the Cnfiguratin utility 1.4. Select Live Data. Yu shuld receive an errr. Click OK t the prmpt. 1.5. Change the fllwing: Database server: New Server Name\HCNSQL07 MD Plus Server ESP Server: New Server Name\ESP Dcument Server: \\New Server Name\ManageEzy\ 1.6. Update the ManageEzy Cnfiguratin; Fr MD/PS 3.14 and later: Click the Update buttn. Fr MD/PS 3.12 and earlier: Select the ManageEzy tab, and click the Update buttn. 1.7. Cnfigure MedicalDirectr PracSft fr Online Claiming 3.1. Open MedicalDirectr PracSft. If yu are presented with errrs regarding nline claiming, click OK t these. 3.2. Within MedicalDirectr PracSft select Setup > Wrkstatin Settings 3.3. Select the Online Claiming tab 3.4. Click the ellipse buttn and brwse t the lcatin f the hic.psi n the New Server 3.5.
