HOMEPAGE The Home Page provides the opportunity to create a job, access existing jobs, modify your profile, perform a system diagnostic, or access your administration area, if you have admin rights. At any time within the interface you see the radial button with a?, simply click it and you will be directed to the online help specific to the page or area you need help with. Note the? radial button next to your name at the upper right of this screenshot. 10/8/ 9/27/ Clicking the System Diagnostics link will review your computer for compliance with the interface. 1
SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS The messages, indicated in this graphic, is how your report should read. If not, you may need to contact your system administrator for assistance or click the Email Results button to contact us and we will attempt to get you up and running in short order. By clicking the Email Results button, your system settings are emailed directly to the InSite Administrator at The Badger Group who, in most cases, will be able to assist in getting your problem diagnosed quickly. HOW TO CREATE A JOB On the Home page users, with the appropriate permissions, are given the ability to create a job. The Create Job window opens and you are prompted to name your job and click the Create button. 2
UPLOADING FILES TO YOUR JOB Creating a job will automatically generate a folder structure on our server. Your next step is to upload a file, InSite at Badger Press is configured to begin automatic processing of all PDF files that are submitted through this portal, providing you the opportunity to begin the review or proofing cycle of your workflow. 10/31/ 1. Click the Upload Files button to begin. 2. You may name the upload to help keep track of which file has been transferred, though, this is not a requirement. 3. You are asked to drag your file into the area on the bottom of this window, you also have the option of browsing for your file, by clicking the icon with the green plus and page symbol. 4. After you click the Upload button, you are able to follow the progress of that upload. 5. Processing of your file begins immediately after the upload process is complete. Jobs are preflighted for any potential problems and a report is generated which gives the user the opportunity to make necessary corrections before proceeding further. 3
VIEWING YOUR JOB Back on the Home Page you are able to see all the jobs that you have permissions to view. Click on the job that you would like to review. 10/8/ 9/27/ Summary Tab You will see that there are four tabs which guide you through the interface. We begin with the Summary tab. Here a list of the total pages and the status of those pages is seen under the Approval Summary. By clicking on any of the links you are taken to the Pages tab. 9/27/ Pages Tab The Pages tab provides you with access to various abilities how you would like to see the pages displayed, the size of the thumbnail you prefer. You may upload files, approve and reject pages, download proofs, view reports and access the Smart Review. By clicking on the Smart Review button or the page you are given the ability to review the RIPPED version of the file. Smart Review Within Smart Review you are given the option to set your user preferences, providing greater control of the interface. Choose your unit of measure preference, the number of decimal points used for measurements, behavior within the Full Screen mode & Safety Line settings. 4
SMART REVIEW View The View pull-down provides control over which items you wish to see during a Smart Review session. Display trim lines, turn the bleed on or off, use safety lines to see whether your copy is too close to the page trim. Choose your viewing preference, thumbnail or list view. SMART REVIEW The Window pull-down menu gives the user control over which palettes are to be displayed. Annotation Manager The Annotation Manager allows control over which annotations/comments are displayed. You gain access to the Annotation Manager under the Window pull-down or quickly from the bottom palette area. Note the highlighted yellow area, a Rule annotation has been turned off. Number of current viewers 10/29/11 Requests for changes are saved, with user time and date stamps Freehand draw tool allows you to highlight an area of concern. Toggle between pages. Check color builds within the file. Switch between Full and Window views. The Stamp tool allows the user to choose from a list of predefined annotations, improving productivity. 10/30/11 6
SMART VIEW APPROVING/REJECTING Pages can be approved or rejected in the Smart Review window by clicking on the appropriate icon. Multiple pages can be selected in the Pages tab and then be approved or rejected as a group, facilitating the process for the reviewer.
