Running a case and saving output to local machine Note: Output cannot be saved on the web server. It can be saved to your local computer or shared drive. Life Illustrator on the web has the same look and feel, and functions the same as the Life Illustrator desktop. Saving a case to the web system database Note: This saves the illustration as a case file on the web server. Only case files (illustration input) are saved on the web server. PDF output is not. Case files will only be retained on the server for one year. You can save case files to the web system database. When you have created your illustration, click the Save Case button in the Life Illustrator ribbon. The Save Case dialog will appear. Name your illustration and click Save. LAW-0175AO.4 (07/18) 5
Downloading current case from web version to desktop version You can download cases from the web version and open them in the desktop version. To save the case that is currently open, click File and then click Download Case. In the File Download confirmation window, click Save. LAW-0175AO.4 (07/18) 6
Choose the location where you typically save your case files, and click Save. Downloading saved cases from web version to desktop version You can also download cases saved on the web server and save them to your computer. To do this, click Open Case, select your cases with the check boxes, click Case, and then choose Download. LAW-0175AO.4 (07/18) 7
Web Life Illustrator will take all the selected cases and package them in a zip file. Click Save, and then choose a location to save the file in the same manner as saving an individual file. As mentioned earlier, case files will only be retained on the server for one year. If you want to save your cases past one year, you will want to download them for Web Life Illustrator to your local computer or shared drive. Uploading saved cases from desktop version to web version To upload a single case saved from the desktop version on your local computer or shared drive into the web version, click File and then click Upload Case. Click Browse to select location of saved case files. Select the case you want to upload and click Open. LAW-0175AO.4 (07/18) 9
Click Upload to import the case file into Life Illustrator. You can also upload multiple cases from your local computer or shared drive into Web Life Illustrator. To do this, click Open Case, then click Case and then Upload. LAW-0175AO.4 (07/18) 10
Click the Browse button and select cases as described earlier. Organizing saved cases in web version It s easy to organize your saved cases in Web Life Illustrator. You can create folders in Web Life Illustrator based on how you like to organize your cases (product, Advisor, Client, etc). To create a folder, click Open Case and then click Folder. Enter a folder name and then click OK. You will now see the new folder in your folder list. You can move cases from folder to folder in the web version by selecting the case(s) you want to move, click Case, and then click Move to Folder. LAW-0175AO.4 (07/18) 12
Then choose the folder you want to move the cases(s) to, and click OK. The selected file(s) will now be in the selected folder. Viewing Options You can set up Web Life Illustrator to display the output as a PDF file, or to display it as a link. PDF display: Display as link: LAW-0175AO.4 (07/18) 13
