Allow enough space to perform the voltage measurements without obstructions. Keep other people a safe distance away from the appliance to prevent potential injury. IPC: Induction Power Control Board NTC: Negative Temperature Coefficient Acronyms and Abbreviations Failure/Error Codes UI: User Interface Board If all the lights on one or both of the EGO cooktop controls are off and there is no response from the cooktop, complete the following steps: 1. Disconnect power. 7. Replace all parts and panels before operating.. Check the wires and connector P3 to the right cooktop control. Check 8. Reconnect power. the wires and P9 connectors on both of the EGO cooktop controls. 9. Check that it is working. If it is not, go to Step 10. 3. Reconnect power. 10. Disconnect power. 4. Check that it is working. If it is not, go to Step 5. 11. Replace the left cooktop EGO control board. 5. Disconnect power. 1. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 6. Replace the right cooktop EGO control board. 13. Reconnect power. 1. Ensure that both cooktop (EGO) controls are OFF (idle mode).. Touch OFF>OFF>ON for the selected control. The power level LEDs for the rear and front elements will light up. 3. Touch ON to display the first error code if it is not already displayed as a series of bars. To interpret the display to identify the error code, refer to the EGO Cooktop Control Error Code Display section. 1. The top and bottom displays will light the single and dual circles (element indicators) sequentially as well as, a number of bars.. When the single circle is displayed, the bars represent the F code. When the dual circle is displayed, the bars represent the E code associated with the F code. Diagnostics Mode for Cooktop Controls EGO Cooktop Control Error Code Display 4. Touch ON to display the next error code (10 may be saved in memory). 5. Touch and hold the ON key for 5 seconds to clear the error codes. 6. Touch OFF to exit the Diagnostics Mode. Diagnostics Mode will automatically take a time-out to the idle state after minutes. Repeat Step to return to Diagnostics Mode. 3. Bars on the top display represent tens, so three top bars are 30. Bars on the bottom display are 1s, so six bottom bars are 6, thus the total displayed in this case is 36. If the number of bars remains the same as the single and dual circles sequence, the error code is F-36 E-36. There are 3 types of failures associated with the cooktop. The description of these failures and the impact they will have on the rest of the cooktop are listed in the following. Failure Type 1 Failure type 1 comes from the power control board. This failure will affect only one burner. The user may continue to use the other burners. Failure Type Failure type usually comes from the power control board (there could be some exceptions). These failures affect all burners associated with that power control board; the user may continue to use the burners that belong to the other power control board. Failure Type 3 Failure type 3 comes from the User Interface. This failure disables the entire cooktop. When this type of failure occurs, all the burners are switched Off by the User Interface. Check for the correct connections at TA - TB or T3A - T3B on the power control board (whichever connection the burner is plugged into). If connections are correct, go to Step 3. 3. Replace the burner coil. 4. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 5. Reconnect power. 6. Check for proper operation. 7. If everything operates, end service. If error code still appears, disconnect power and go to Step 8. 8. Replace the power control board. 9. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 10. Reconnect power. F-1 E-00 Supply power frequency Type 1. Disconnect power.. Replace the power control board. 5. If the issue is not fixed, contact a qualified electrician to verify the frequency of the home power supply is 60 Hz.

Check that the temperature sensor is between 184,000 Ω and 9,000 Ω at room temperature and is firmly plugged in. If the sensor is not between 184,000 Ω and 9,000 Ω, replace the coil and go to Step 5. If the sensor is between 184,000 Ω and 9,000 Ω and the electrical connection is good, go to Step 3. 4. Reconnect power and check that the coil is working. If it is not working, disconnect power and replace the non-working coil and the power control board. 5. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 6. Reconnect power. F-40 E-XX Power control board failure error where XX will describe one of 13 possible causes. The repair suggestion is the same in all cases. Type 1 or Type 1. Disconnect power.. Check that the cable between the User Interface and the power control board is not damaged and is firmly plugged in. 5. Verify if error is still present. If yes, disconnect power. 6. Replace the power control board. 7. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 8. Reconnect power. F-4 F-43 E-00 E-00 Power supply Type 1. Check for 40 volts AC at the main incoming power supply connection by completing the following steps.. Disconnect power. 3. Connect voltage measurement equipment. 4. Reconnect power and check for 40 volts at J1 L to N, and then J L to N at the EMI filter board, and then J1 L to N at both power control boards. If voltage is correct, disconnect power, replace the power control board and go to Step 5. If voltage is not correct, disconnect power and check for an open fuse on the EMI filter board. If there is not an open fuse, have a qualified electrician check the home power supply. 5. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 6. Reconnect power. F-47 E-35 E-39 E-47 Power supply from power control board to User Interface is missing or WIDE communication error between UI and power control board or an open fuse on the filter board Type 1. Disconnect power.. Check that the cables between the User Interface and the power control board are not damaged and are firmly plugged in. 4. Reconnect power and check that it is working. If it is not working, disconnect power and replace the cables between the User Interface and the power control board. 5. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 6. Reconnect power and check that it is working. If it is not working, go to Step 7. 7. Disconnect power. 8. Check the continuity of the fuses on the EMI board. If either of the fuses is blown, replace with a new one. 9. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 10. Reconnect power and check that it is working. If it is not working, go to Step 11. 11.
