ICPM is the largest management certifying body in the United States Thank you for your interest in becoming an ICPM Authorized Instructional Partner to deliver ICPM management development programs. Through successful partnerships with private training organizations and academic institutions, ICPM has trained and certified over 12,000 managers, supervisors, and leaders worldwide. Potential partners must meet professional and experience qualifications, plus possess a commitment to increasing the competency and professionalism of managers. Submission of an ICPM Instructional Partner Questionnaire, references, and a $125 application fee begins the review process. To be authorized as an ICPM Instructional Partner, organizations must undergo a thorough review of organizational experience, reputation, business practices, instructional staff, training facilities, and professional network. The Basics The Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) is a not-for-profit, educational institute and business center of James Madison University located in Harrisonburg, VA. Founded in 1974 by the National Management Association, ICPM has been training and certifying managers for over 40 years. ICPM offers two management and leadership development programs: (1) Foundations of Management certificate a 45 hour certificate program for entry level managers, supervisors and team leads. Training materials consist of a custom published study book, e-learning Center, and a 90 item exam to validate learning. Instructors have access to online resources to facilitate classroom instruction to include: learning objectives, key terms, lecture notes/ teaching tips, discussion questions and cases, PowerPoint slides, and quizzes. Training (2) Certified Manager (CM ) certification a 90 hour certification program for mid-level managers that meet eligibility requirements for education and experience. Training materials consist of 3 custom published study books, ICPM s e-learning Center, and 3 certification exams. Instructors have access to online resources to facilitate classroom instruction to include: a leader s guide, chapter outlines, PowerPoint slides, quizzes and videos. ICPM Instructional Partners add value to ICPM s programs by delivering classroom or online training using ICPM approved instructors who meet the following qualifications: Education--minimum of an undergraduate degree in business/management and/or CM certified. An MBA or master s degree in a specialty business field is preferred. Experience-a minimum of 5 years of management experience, plus 2 years training/presentation or mentoring experience. A resume or vitae must be submitted to ICPM for approval prior to commencing program instruction. Training is intended to add clarity and relevance to ICPM s programs and not teach to the test. Accordingly, program exams are not shared with partners or instructors. Training materials for applicants and instructors are available exclusively from ICPM. Each applicant must purchase a personal set of training materials. In observance of US copyright law, training materials may not be copied, shared, reused or resold. Classroom Training Partners may adopt a training format that meets the needs of their customers. Small to medium size classes (15-20) are recommended to facilitate productive and meaningful discussion. Content delivery should include a mix of instruction, discussion, and application, enabling participants to share experiences with other managers in the program and apply concepts to the workplace. Proctored exams are to be administered at the end of the program, or for the CM certification, at the end of each of each of the 3 modules. Applicants can use a live proctor or ICPM s online proctor, Proctor U (for a fee). Exams are administered online, time limited, and taken closed-book. Failed exams can be retaken at a reduced exam fee of $75. Fact Sheet pg 3
Pricing ICPM s programs present an excellent opportunity to generate revenues through training fees and ongoing continuing education. Training organizations and institutions set their own pricing for training based on per credit hour fees or competitive training rates charged in their local area. ICPM s comprehensive fee for all program training materials, exams, administration and support is as follows: Foundations of Management Certified Manager Bundle (1 payment) $325* US dollars (per applicant) $745* US dollars (per applicant) Modules (3 payments) Not Available $265* US dollars (per applicant) * Shipping & handling is extra and based on volume of purchase. Fees are subject to change periodically with 45 days notice. Orders for training materials are placed directly with ICPM by phone or email a minimum or 10 business days before a program start date. ICPM will produce an invoice which must be prepaid before materials will be shipped. Payment can be made by check, credit card, or wire transfer. A $30 fee is charged to process wire transfers. Additional Information Partners are responsible for upholding the high standards and ethics of ICPM in administering learning programs. Violation of such standards is grounds for discontinuing the Partner relationship. Partners are responsible for their own costs of administering and marketing ICPM s programs. ICPM will assist with promotions by providing logos, graphics, and electronic templates. ICPM s learning programs are non-credit programs, however, colleges and universities may pursue approval to grant college credits that can be used toward degree programs offered at their own institution. Business Territories ICPM Authorized Instructional Partners will be assigned a geographic area in which they can administer ICPM s learning programs and an annual sales quota. Provided the annual sales quota is met, only one instructional partner will be assigned per geographic area. Partners may request an expansion of their geographic area after having consistently met their sales quota for a minimum of one year.
