Checking Your Firmware Check your current PeerAir Wireless Multimedia Systems Firmware version: 1. Ensure that the HDS-WHDI100 (original wireless system) is on and the Receiver and Transmitter are connected and content is streaming. 2. At the Receiver side, make sure that the HDTV is turned on. 3. Press the Source button on the Receiver for about 5 seconds. 5 sec. 4. Firmware version for the Receiver and Transmitter will display in the upper left-hand corner of the HDTV. Most Current version of Firmware is: Transmitter: WHD200TU03133112 Receiver: WHDCMNRU03133112 If the Firmware does not match the above continue following this guide to update the Firmware. Downloading and Installing Wireless Device Driver The Peerless-AV HDS-WHDI100 Wireless Device Driver is required to update the Firmware on your wireless device. Click below to download the Wireless Device Driver. Follow the installation instructions provided. https://info.peerless-av.com/pico/hds-whdi100_driver.zip Download Wireless Device Driver CLICK HERE Notes: - Ensure that you are logged on to the computer using an account with Administrative privileges. - Ensure that the computer is connected to the Internet. Installing Wireless Device Drivers STEP 1. After downloading the drivers from the link: https://info.peerless-av.com/pico/hds-whdi100_driver.zip locate the downloaded Wireless Device Driver folder HDS-WHDI100_driver. STEP 2. Open the HDS-WHDI100_driver folder. STEP 3. Locate and open InstallDriver application. 3
Downloading and Installing Wireless Device Driver STEP 4. Once the InstallDriver application has been launched the following Security Warning may appear depending on your computer security settings. If the Security Warning is displayed, click Run. This will open an installation wizard. STEP 5. Click Next to continue. STEP 6. After clicking Next the software will begin to install and a screen similar to the one below will appear. 4
Downloading and Installing Wireless Device Driver STEP 7. Once the Wireless Device Driver installation is complete the following screen will appear. Click Finish. Downloading and Applying Firmware Do not disconnect the wireless device from the computer and/or power until the Firmware update is fully complete. The Firmware update is not fully finished until ALL steps in this guide have been completed. Disconnecting the wireless device before the Firmware update is finished may render the wireless device inoperable. Firmware Download Instructions Download the latest Firmware for your HDS-WHDI100 system and follow the provided instructions for applying the Firmware. Updating Firmware on the Receiver Required Items: Computer running Windows XP, Windows 7 32/64bit, Windows 8 USB A Male to Mini USB B Male cable (not included) HDS-WHDI100 Receiver STEP 1. Plug-in the USB end of the USB A Male to Mini USB B Male cable to an open USB port on the computer. Do not connect the Mini USB B Male side of the cable to the Receiver at this time. STEP 2. STEP 2A. Hold down the Source button on the Receiver. SOURCE While holding the Source button plug the Mini USB B Male side of the cable into the power port on the Receiver. Receiver Power Port 7
Updating Firmware on the Receiver STEP 3. Once the Receiver is connected to the computer, the computer will recognize the Receiver automatically. At this time release the Source button. All lights on the Receiver will be off. SOURCE NEXT STEP 4. 8
Updating Firmware on the Receiver STEP 4. Locate the downloaded Firmware folder HDS-WHDI100_Firmware. STEP 5. Open the HDS-WHDI100_Firmware folder. STEP 6. Locate the HDS-WHDI100_RXUpgrade folder. STEP 7. Open the HDS-WHDI100_RXUpgrade folder. STEP 8. Double click on the Upgrade_Rx and choose Extract all. STEP 9. Once the file is engaged the following Security Warning may appear depending on your computer security settings. Click Run to continue. Files must be unzipped/extracted prior to performing firmware update. The firmware may not allow for communication with device if files that have not been extracted are being used. 9
Updating Firmware on the Receiver STEP 10. Once past the security message you are ready to update the Receiver Firmware. The screen below will be displayed. To start the update, click the Update button. The progress bar will show the status of the update. During the update process DO NOT unplug the device or power down the computer. Once the update is complete the Update button will become the OK button. STEP 11. Click the OK button. At this time the Firmware on the Receiver has been upgraded. STEP 12. Updating Firmware on the Transmitter Required Items: Computer running Windows XP, Windows 7 32/64bit, Windows 8 HDS-WHDI100 Transmitter USB A Male to Mini USB B Male cable (not included) HDS-WHDI100 Transmitter Power Supply STEP 1. Plug-in the HDS-WHDI100 Transmitter Power Supply to an available outlet. STEP 2. Plug-in the USB end of the USB A Male to Mini USB B Male cable to an open USB port on the computer. Do not connect the Mini USB B Male side of the cable to the Transmitter at this time. 11
Updating Firmware on the Transmitter STEP 3. STEP 3A. STEP 3B. Hold down the Source button on the Transmitter. While holding the Source button plug the power supply into the power port on the Transmitter. Plug the Mini USB B Male side of the cable into the USB/HID service port on the Transmitter. SOURCE Power Port USB-HID/Service Port SOURCE STEP 4. Once the Transmitter is connected to the computer, the computer will recognize the Transmitter automatically. At this time release the Source button. All lights on the Transmitter will be off. 12
Updating Firmware on the Transmitter STEP 5. STEP 6. Locate the downloaded Firmware folder HDS-WHDI100_Firmware. Open the HDS-WHDI100_Firmware folder. STEP 7. Locate the HDS-WHDI100_TXUpgrade folder. STEP 8. Open the HDS-WHDI100_TXUpgrade folder. STEP 9. Run the Upgrade_Tx by double clicking on the file. STEP 11. Once the file is engaged the following Security Warning may appear depending on your computer security settings. Click Run to continue. It is recommended to use the already extracted files for this procedure. Please reference Note in step 8 on page 9 of this guide. 13
Updating Firmware on the Transmitter STEP 12. Once past the security message you are ready to update the Transmitter Firmware. The screen below will be displayed. To start the update, click the Update button. The progress bar will show the status of the update. During the update process DO NOT unplug the device or power down the computer. Once the update is complete the Update button will become the OK button. STEP 13. Click the OK button. At this time the Firmware on the Transmitter has been upgraded. STEP 14.
