AQUA 808 Beltpack Transmitter Power Indication Low Battery Indicator Power Button Input Connector Transmitter Initial Usage The AQUA 808 Transmitter is a 16 channel, frequency agile, wireless transmitter. Before initial use the batteries should be charged for 12 hours. It is important to note, that in order for the unit to be waterproof, the detachable headset cable must be in place and locked on the transmitter. To accomplish this, follow these steps: First, notice that on the detachable headset cable there is a small notch in the interior ring that surrounds the metal connector pins. This notch aligns with a small metal pin on the inside of the metal ring of the connector that is permanently installed in the body pack. Once these points have been aligned, push the connector into place, then TWIST THE LOCKING RING to the right until a click is heard. The unit is now waterproof. At all times, when in the pool the connectors should be in place, water can get into the transmitter if the headset cable is not connected. We recommend that all connectors receive a daub (small amount) of our protective silicone gel at-least once a week. This prevents corrosion and will increase the life of both the body pack transmitter and the cable. **Please note: To align frequency, please return to factory or refer to qualified service personnel. AQUA 808 Charger Connection Included with the AQUA 20/20 unit is the battery charger (TPF 002). This battery charging unit is provided with a metal connector identical to the connector on the detachable headset cable. This connector is joined in the same manner as described above. It is important that the connector on the body pack transmitter is dry before charging. It is important to use our protective silicon gel on both connectors. This prevents corrosion and will significantly increase the life of both the charger and the body pack transmitter.

AQUA 808 Battery Charging Prior to the initial use of the AQUA 808, the batteries should be charged for 12 hours. The AQUA 808 contains a protective circuit to prevent overcharging. The transmitter should be turned off during charging. AQUA 808 Connection Microphone In order for the AQUA 808 to be waterproof, the headset cable must be present and connected. The connection for the cable to the transmitter is described above. For the plastic connectors that connect the cable to the headset, align the white arrows on the connectors and push together. AQUA 250 VHF Wireless Receiver AQUA 250 Receiver Installation For best results, the AQUA 250 receiver should be placed at least 3 feet above the ground and at least 3 feet away from walls or metal surfaces. This will improve reception by minimizing RF reflections. It is important to keep antennas away from noise sources, I.E. electronic motors, neon or fluorescent lights, as well as large metal objects. It is also recommended that the transmitter be at least 3 feet away during operations. The Channel Selector is factory pre-set to Channel 1. This channel should not be changed unless sent to the factory for modification. AQUA 250 Antenna Connection Attach the antenna(s) to each of the antenna input jacks located on the back of the receiver. Once both antennas are secured and fully extended, position one antenna at a 45 degree angle from the other. If the antenna is difficult to move, loosen the connector, reposition, and then retighten the connector to secure the antennas position AQUA 250 Audio Output Connectors There are two audio outputs on the back of the receiver, a balanced microphone level and an unbalanced line level. Connect one end of a microphone cable to the balanced XLR output of the receiver, and connect to the other to a microphone input on your mixer. AQUA 250 Power Supply Connection The AQUA 250 VHF Receiver is designed to accept DC input voltage between 12-15 volts, and a current rating of 800mA. Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC IN input receptacle on the back of the receiver. Then plug the AC adapter into a standard 120v 60Hz AC outlet. AQUA 250 Gain and Volume Control Adjust the VOLUME control until the output level is appropriate in respect to the mixer/amplifier input. Turning the VOLUME control clockwise increases the audio output. Turning the VOLUME control counter clockwise decreases the audio output. The SQ Control is used to adjust the squelch. As the squelch is factory preset for optimum performance, no further adjustment is required. If adjustments are necessary, rotate the AQ control clockwise until the illumination of the RF Signal Level and the diversity indicator are not longer lit. The transmitter must be off in order to correctly perform this adjustment. The audio input level of the transmitter is preset by Special Projects to a position that is typical for most use. If you wish to increase or decrease the sensitivity of the microphone input, please contact Special Projects.

Power Switch RF Signal Indicator Tuner Indicator AF Signal Level Channel Indicator Volume Control AQUA 20/20 General Operations: Turn on the receiver by pressing the POWER button Turn on the transmitter by holding down the ON/OFF button for 1 second. Attach the cable to the Headworn microphone. Then attach the microphone to the transmitter body pack. The metal connector of the cable MUST be connected and the locking metal ring twisted into place in order for the unit to be waterproof. DO NOT submerge body pack without the cable in place!! Check to see the receiver is obtaining RF signal, as is indicated by the RF SIGNAL LEVEL and that one of the DIVERSITY indicators are illuminated. Once the microphone is attached to the transmitter body pack, speak into the microphone at a normal level, verifying that the AF SIGNAL LEVEL indicator occasionally illuminated while you are speaking. Using the receiver VOLUME control, increase or decrease the volume until a proper level is obtained at the mixer or amplifier input AQUA 20/20 Recommendations The audio cable for the AQUA 808 transmitter also serves as an antenna. The length of cable is cut according to the specific frequency range. Do not alter the physical length or coil the cable in use. Doing so will affect the antenna efficiency of the transmitter, and reduces operating range. AQUA 20/20 General Remarks A word about the term waterproof.. The AQUA 808 transmitter carries and IP67 rating when mated to an approved connector. The EIC 529 outline an international classification system for sealing effectiveness of enclosures of electrical equipment against the intrusion of foreign bodies into the equipment. This classification system utilizes the letters IP followed by two digits. The first digit of the IP code indicates the degree the equipment if protected against solid foreign bodies. The 6 indicates that it is dust-tight. The second digit indicated the degree of protection from moisture. The 7 indicates that it is protected against temporary immersion. More specifically, it is protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m in depth for a period of 30 minutes.

WARRRANTY COVERAGE Your microphone system has been manufactured with the latest in technology for aquatic purposes. Your waterproof microphone system has been assembled and tested by a Special Projects technician to ensure factory specifications for in water use. Your Waterproof Wireless Microphone System is protected under a 1 year limited warranty. All connectors carry a 90 day limited warranty. Before using your Waterproof Microphone System for the first time, connect the charger to the body pack and charge the battery for 12 full hours. To ensure the durability of your Waterproof Microphone System, Special Projects offers the following suggestions: Make sure that all components and connectors are completely dry before charging. Failure to do so can result in connector corrosion. Connector corrosion is not covered under warranty. Suggest use of our protective silicone gel will help prolong the life of the connectors on both the Headworn microphone and the microphone cable. The waterproof transmitter battery is a lithium-ion battery which does not develop memory. The battery also has a protective charging circuit to prevent over-charging. To save battery life, please ensure that you have turned your transmitter off when not in use. Do not hold the transmitter by the headset wire. The weight of the transmitter can damage the internal wires at the connector. Do not wrap the headset wire around the frame of the headset; this allows the headset wire to kink and become brittle inside the wire jacket. Headset wire abuse is not covered under warranty. Do not open the waterproof transmitter. Doing so will void the warranty. All service work must be performed at Special Projects. All service and service inquires must be directed to Special Projects. Please call, fax, or e-mail to obtain a return authorization number. Proof of Purchase will need to be submitted with service and warranty items. All products received without proper documentation could result in a delay in service and possible return to customer C.O.D.
