You will be directed to the CP Portal homepage Your network drives will appear at the left of your screen Click on the drive name to view all of your files and folders in the middle screen section By using the icons on the following toolbars you can perform basic file operations: create, copy, edit, cut, delete, rename, preview, zip, and unzip. The Main Toolbar Click the Folders button to hide or display the folder tree in the left pane. Click the drop down arrow to to choose Thumbnail View or Detailed View. Favorites will add the drive to Favorites within the software. Hover over Favorites to see the pinned drives. Click to access a search window that allows you to search for specific files or content within files. Click on File to view, edit and set sharing rights on files and folders. You can select New to create a new document. Click on the Upload button to access uploading for mulitple file types. Depending on the application, you may use several ways of file uploading: Browser upload (classic), Flash, Silverlight, Java, Google Docs, or upload from a URL (dropbox, Picasa, Flicr, PhotoBucket, Facebook).
The Secondary Toolbar Click on a file or folder to create shares i.e provide access to your folder/file for your own visitors. Select needed folder/file and click from context menu "Create public link". This feature provides anonymous access to the folder/file. Any user, even that has no account at web file manager, may download or upload files via public link. Click on the Generate button and a URL will be provided that you can share with your students. Click on a file and select the View, edit and sharing button to edit the file or download it to GoogleDocs or Dropbox. Select Edit in MS Office to open the document and make changes. This saves you time from downloading the file, making changes locally on the computer, and then uploading the changes. If a file is shared between multiple users, MS Office will lock the file and allow read only rights after the first person accesses the file. Highlight a file or folder and click on the Download button. In Windows 7 you will be prompted to Open or Save the file. Click on the New button to create a new file or folder. Click on a file or folder and then on the Rename button. A cursor will appear in the title allowing you to rename the item. You can change the name of the file but not the file extension. Click on the file or folder and then on the Delete button. You will receive a popup window to confirm the deletion. Click on a file or folder and then on the Details button. A window will open to display dates, times, file sizes, and file type. Click on the Add button in the Details window to specify comments, descriptions or other metadata for files and folders. The details will be saved if files are copied, moved or renamed. Double-left click on a file or folder and a popup window will appear with the above icons for quick access. The Account Toolbar Allows you to change the language type used within the CP Portal and access the Mobile interface for Smartphones. Help will access a User Help portal. This information can also be accessed by clicking on the User Manual link located under the Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation Remote File Portal header at the top of the screen. How to create a File from the CP Portal Hover over File and then New Left click the program of your choice Key in the name of the document Click on the OK button The File will appear in the middle section
How to edit a File from the CP Portal Double left click on the file Hover your mouse over View, edit and sharing Left click on the Edit in MS Office option Click on OK
Left click on Yes Sign in using your network login information Click on OK Word will open Create the document and click on the Save button The document will automatically be saved for you in the CP Portal Click the refresh button in the CP Portal to view the updated date and time stamp of the document.
How to upload a document Click on the Upload button Select a tab to indicate the type of file to upload Simple is best for normal documents Click on Browse Navigate to the location of where the file is saved on your computer or network drive. Select the file to upload Click on the Open button The file information will appear in the display box Click on the Upload button The file will display in the middle section of the CP Portal screen
