PRINTING creating print jobs ISD 13 COLUMBIA HEIGHTS Schools From your desktop, select to print your document to the uniflow print queue. Indiana-Follow-Me-Printer will be the queue name for Canon printing. This print queue has Black & White, duplex (2-sided) printing as the default. You can change options in the print driver or at the printer. Note that you cannot change to color at the printer; you must select color before printing. In the driver, select Preferences to get options to change Page Setup (copies, multi-up), Finishing (staple, hole punch), or Paper Source. Select OK to send your job to the uniflow Secure Print queue. Page 1
LOGGING IN HID badge and Pin Code ISD 13 COLUMBIA HEIGHTS Schools To release print jobs or to scan to your choice of location, you will log in with your PIN Code and password or by swiping your employee badge. Using your badge, to begin, scan your badge on the reader at any MFD printer. Using your badge: The first time you scan your Card, you will be asked to enter your network username{ first seven letters of last name and first initial of first name} and password. Tap the top white space and use the popup keypad to enter your username. Press ENTER. Then tap the second white space to enter your password. Press ENTER. Press LOGIN. *You will do this once. Next time you will be able to simply swipe your badge to log in. To use a Pin Code login: Tap the PIN CODE button. Enter your employee ID as pin code and select ENTER/LOGIN. Page 2
LOGGING IN ISD 13 COLUMBIA HEIGHTS Schools If you have multiple Cost Centers, you may be asked to select the Cost Center to bill print/copy to most users will not see this screen At any Canon device, you will see an initial screen such as you see below. To Copy simply select the COPY icon. To scan a job, select the SCAN or SCAN AND SEND (fax enable models) button. To release your print jobs or to use a uniflow scan workflow, select the Secure Print icon. Note that additional quick touch buttons are on this screen along the left edge. Buttons such as COPY, SCAN and SECURE PRINT provide quick accessibility to often used functions. The device will automatically log out after one minute of inactivity. Page 3
ISD 13 COLUMBIA HEIGHTS Schools COPYING For copying, choose desired copy features. Select FINISHING for Staple/collate/group. Select 2-SIDED to do 1 side to 2 sides OR 2 sides to 2 sides. SELECT COLOR to choose from B & W to Auto Color Select. Select OPTIONS to go to the Advanced Features for making booklets/adding covers/frame erase/page numbering/job build etc. Use FAVORITE SETTINGS to register commonly used copy features for future ease of use. FAX ISD 13 COLUMBIA HEIGHTS Schools To fax, select the FAX icon. Note that not all machines have fax; if you do not see the fax icon, the device does not have fax capability. Place your documents in the scanner and program your fax number and details to send. Please take care not to dial 9 1 1. Enter destination using the number keys OR Select Address book and choose registered fax numbers Select OPTIONS to find additional fax settings such as Job Build, Book mode and Different Size Originals. Select to start scanning. Page 5
ISD 13 COLUMBIA HEIGHTS Schools SCANNING Select the SCAN (or SCAN AND SEND) button from the Main Screen. Place your pages in the ADF or feeder, and select Scan to Myself. Select to start copying.. Page 6
SECURE PRINT QUEUE ISD 13 COLUMBIA HEIGHTS Schools After selecting the Secure Print Scan button, you will see the secure print queue and options to select jobs to print or delete. Change media options or tray calls at the device (Paper Catalog). Use Select All and Print+Delete to select all your print jobs, print them and delete them. Jobs will remain in your print queue for 72 hours and will then be automatically deleted. The Print+Keep option will put your jobs into the Printed Jobs holding queue for 10 hours. In the Secure Print Queue, select job and select the OPTIONS button to change job properties SET OPTIONS to leave this screen or simply choose to PRINT + DELETE or to PRINT + KEEP. Color must be selected from the print driver properties. All finish options appear at the client in printer properties but not all devices have the same finishing options (example shown below) (yellow warning for finish and color options not available) Page 7

The machine wants paper (Load Paper) but it is FULL If the machine asks for paper but the drawers are all full, Select the STATUS MONITOR and wait 5 seconds to find out the issue Some PDFs may not sense the paper size required so you just need to say OK to select the standard letter tray or desired tray. USE SPECIAL PAPER: I need to print labels or special stock... o When your job requires special paper, you will want to feed it into the manual bypass tray on the right of the printer. In the Printer, before sending the jobs, select PREFERENCES and go to the Paper Source tab In the Paper Source section, select the Multipurpose Tray Finish sending the job o At the printer Place your special stock face down in the bypass tray Follow the instructions on the panel to select the size (Letter) Select NEXT and indicate the paper TYPE (label, heavy stock) Select OK Page 10
