CREATING AN ALL Hyperstudio is an easy to use but powerful multimedia authoring tool that lets you and your students create a series of linked cards, called a stack. Each card can contain text, graphics, video, and audio to present your content. Together the stack of HyperStudio cards can help you teach and help your students to learn. This Skills Builder will help you to explore HyperStudio s features while creating a stack that introduces you or your students. HyperStudio creates a stack of cards to communicate content. Each card can contain a number of multimedia objects including sound, video, and animation. You can direct the way in which the card or stack plays the media you have selected by identifying the desired action. All these components can be achieved with the click of the mouse. Creating complex multimedia software with HyperStudio is limited only by your imagination. You can use this Skills Builder even if you have not purchased the HyperStudio program. This Skills Builder was created to use with the Preview version of HyperStudio which is available for download from www.hyperstudio.com. This version allows you to preview and use all features with the limitation of being able to create a maximum of four cards. If you do not have HyperStudio installed on your computer, go to their website and download and install the preview before beginning this Skills Builder. As in all Skills Builders, look for this computer icon next to each step. Whenever you see it, you should complete that step on your computer. The right side of the page will show you what you should see on your screen as you complete each step. Allyn and Bacon, 2005 page 1
