Fluidity Trader Historical Data for Ensign Software Playback This support document will walk you through the steps of obtaining historical data for esignal into your Ensign Software program so that you can run Playback simulations for Jan Dec of 2012. Step 1: Go To Fluidity Trader Mentor Folder. On Ensign Main Toolbar click on Setup Then click on PACKAGE button Then on the Server Tab Then click the dropdown and Select Mentor Folders Then click the 2 nd dropdown and Select Fluidity Trader You will use <fluiditye> as the download password all lower case, do not type the <> symbols. **When you download files here make sure the and Extract button is checked!
Step 2: Download each of the Fluidity Trader 2012 Data.Package files. There are 12 of them. Download them 1 at a time. Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sept Oct Nov Dec Step 3: Check your file directory to see if the files were successfully saved into your Database. Go To Windows Explorer (your file directory, not the browser) Select Local Disk (C:) in left column. Then double click on Ensign 10 folder on right side.
Then double click on Feeds folder on right side. Then double click on EN folder on right side. Then double click on Ticks folder on right side. Then double click on ES # F folder on right side.
Once inside the C:\Ensign10\Feeds\EN\Ticks\ES #F folder you should see individual.tick files for each day from Jan 03, 2012 to Dec 31, 2012 after you have downloaded all 12 data.package files. Step 4: Copying these files and putting a duplicate copy in another file folder. Left click on the 120103.tick file Use the scroll bar on the right side of your explorer window to scroll to the bottom. HOLD the SHIFT KEY DOWN Left click on the 121231.tick file With all files selected RIGHT CLICK and choose COPY Then hit the BACK button at the top left corner of the Windows Explorer window and back up to the FEEDS folder.
Then Double Click Feeds folder again. This time double click ES folder. Then double click Ticks folder. Then double click ES # F folder. RIGHT CLICK on the white space INSIDE the ES # F folder Hit PASTE. Be Patient and Wait! You will be copying 265 + files into this folder. When it is done you are ready to start opening and running Playback files. Step 5: Close Windows Explorer Step 6: Open a Playback file (please review the video here on the Support page). On Ensign Main Toolbar go to Setup Then click on PLAYBACK SETUP button Select a Date to Playback from the dropdown. Select a Speed to Playback (recommend no more than 6x to start, possibly slower) Then check the CONNECT box. When the first question comes up: ES #F exists in Ensign Internet. The file contains x number of ticks. Would you like to use it? You will answer YES! (This is the file you just built for yourself by doing the copy/paste).
When the second question comes up: Would you like to open charts now? You will answer NO!
Next you will immediately hit the Playback PAUSE button. Then you will go on the Ensign Main Toolbar to Main Tab. Click the Layout Button Select the Playback Layout you have. Hit OPEN. After the charts are open and fully loaded. Go back to the Ensign Main Toolbar and go back to Setup Tab Then click PLAYBACK RESUME (this will start your Playback session) you can pause and resume any time you need to.
Step 7: Trouble Shooting Question 1: I cannot see my candles or price bars, where are they? Answer 1: Make sure that price is not significantly above or below where your charts open, make the bars shorter using the Chart Controls or scroll up and down to find where current price is. Question 2: I cannot see historical data my charts load without indicators at the bottom and the indicators do not start to show up until half way through the day on the Playback. Answer 2: Your Playback is not set to load enough historical data. Hit Playback Pause. Then on one of the TICK charts within your Playback Layout Click the Chart Properties Button. Then click on the Data Tab. Then change the Bars in file numbers you see below in the white boxes to BOTH read 60000. Then you will need to go to Ensign Main Toolbar, go to Window Tab, and select CLOSE button. When asked if you want to save your Playback Layout say YES! This will save the change to your Layout. Then start over loading a new playback file to practice and you should have more historical data load.
