Conclusions The prevalence of silicosis among Medicare beneficiaries from 1999 2014 was 1 per 5,000 States with the highest prevalence of Medicare beneficiaries with silicosis were WV, NM, VT and UT The number of prevalent silicosis cases has remained relatively steady since 2007 Roughly 5,400 cases per year
