Data Manager for Databases > Reporting > Asset > System-wide > All DBMSs > Users > Users Data Manager for Databases > Reporting > Asset > System-wide > All DBMSs > Users > By Discoered Time Columns missing in table of report columns (49010) This omission occurs in the window for Data Manager for Databases > Reporting > Asset > By Storage Subsystem > SVC xxx > Virtual Disks > Vdisk xxx (where SVC xxx equals the name of a specific SAN Volume Controller deice and Vdisk xxx equals the name of a specific Vdisk). When you press F1 for help, columns are missing from the table of report columns. In the next release of Tioli Storage Productiity Center, the columns will be added. Information missing from help about Host Paths (50021) This omission occurs in the window for Disk Manager > Reporting > Storage Subsystem > Volume to HBA Assignment > By Volume Space. After you generate the report, click a olume that is assigned to the Storage Resource agent. Click Host Paths and press F1. Information about Controller, Instance, Bus Number, Target Identifier, and Logical Unit number is missing. In the next release of Tioli Storage Productiity Center, the information will be added. Descriptions of items in Report Filter Specifications pane missing (51728) When you access the window for Fabric Manager > Reporting > Switch Performance > By Switch and press F1 for help, descriptions of items in the Report Filter Specifications pane (radio buttons and list box) are missing: Display latest performance data Display historic performance data using absolute time Display historic performance data using relatie time Summation Leel In the next release of Tioli Storage Productiity Center, the information will be added. Input fields for secondary and tertiary storage resource group are disabled on Replication Planning page in the SAN Planner wizard (51970) When you do not specify a storage resource group (SRG) in the input fields for source olumes, the secondary and tertiary SRG input fields are disabled in the pages for replication planning. Also, the SRGs that are displayed in the list are not part of existing replication sessions. If all of your SRGs are part of replication sessions, the input fields will be disabled. Incorrect headings in report columns (52004) When you access the window for Disk Manager > Reporting > Storage Subsystems > Storage Subsystem Views > By Volume and press F1 for help, the headings in the table of report columns are incorrect. In the next release of Tioli Storage Productiity Center, the table will be updated with the correct headings. Corrections to help windows for SAN Planner "SAN Planner Wizard: Specify Secondary Location" (52037) The following are corrections to help text for the SAN Planner: Documentation corrections for IBM Tioli Storage Productiity Center V4.2 3

Help window "SAN Planner Wizard: Specify Secondary Location" In the input field "Use existing storage resource group," change "Click and enter the select the storage resource group in the Storage resource group name field" to "Click and enter the name for the storage resource group in the Storage resource group name field." Help window "SAN Planner Wizard: Specify Adanced Capacity Plan" In the "Show Recommended Pools" option, change " Click to show the recommended pools to be used in proisioning in the "The following resources are selected for planning" box" to "Click to show the recommended pools to be used for proisioning. The recommended pools are displayed under the corresponding storage systems in the The following resources are selected for planning box." Help window "SAN Planner Wizard: Specify Path Plan" In the option "Effectie Proisioning Profile," change "Displays None if there are is no proisioning profile" to "Displays None if there is no proisioning profile." Aailable File System Space column description is incomplete for Asset by Computer reports (47491) When you press F1 for help for an Asset By Computer report, the description for the Aailable File System Space column or field should state that the alue in the column or field does not include temporary file system space. For reports that are under Data Manager > TPC-wide Storage Space, the Aailable File System Space column and other columns that hae File System in the column name include temporary file system space. IBM Tioli Storage Productiity Center and IBM Tioli Storage Productiity Center for Replication Installation and Configuration Guide page 35 and Information Center, topic "Planning for user IDs and user rights" The third paragraph states: The user ID can be for a local account or domain account. This statement should read as follows: The user ID must be for a local account. page 316 and Information Center, topic "Starting the Tioli Storage Productiity Center GUI using a web browser" The following information under the title "Oeriew" is incorrect: The remote system must hae IBM Jaa Runtime Enironment (JRE) 6 installed. If you do not hae an earlier ersion of the JRE installed, you can download the JRE from IBM deeloperworks (http://www.ibm.com/ deeloperworks/jaa/jdk/). Download the 32-bit ersion of the JRE regardless of whether you hae a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system to ensure compatibility with Tioli Storage Productiity Center. The 32-bit ersion of the JRE can be run on 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems. You must hae an IBM user ID to download the JRE. If you do hae the JRE installed, but the JRE is not the correct ersion, a message is displayed when you attempt to start Jaa Web Start. The Jaa Web Start browser page proides links to the 32-bit IBM JRE 6 download file by operating system. 4 Documentation corrections for IBM Tioli Storage Productiity Center V4.2

Replace this text with the following information: The remote system must hae IBM Jaa Runtime Enironment (JRE) 6 installed. From the remote system, open a web browser window and enter the web address of the target serer. The URL is in the format http://deice_serer_location:deice_serer_port/itsrm/app/ welcome.html. Note: The default Deice serer port is 9550; howeer, this number might hae been changed during installation. Check with your system administrator to see if this port has changed. Information Center topic "Using a master image to set up Common agent machines" (IC74688) This topic should be deleted because it does not apply to Storage Resource agents. Information Center topic "Troubleshooting" This information should be added to the "Troubleshooting" topic for "General troubleshooting." You receie error message GEN0324E when using the SUN JRE or IBM JRE5 to start the Tioli Storage Productiity Center GUI. The remote system must hae IBM Jaa Runtime Enironment (JRE) 6 installed. The correct location is as follows: For Windows, go to the following directory and run these commands: 1. cd TPC_installation_directory\ca\subagents\TPC\Fabric\bin\w32-ix86 seten srmcp -u user_id -p password ConfigSerice setauthenticationpw new_host_password 2. For UNIX or Linux, go to the following directory and run these commands: cd TPC_installation_directory/ca/subagents/TPC/Fabric/bin/ aix_or_linux_or_solaris2../seten.sh (note there is a space between the two dots)./srmcp.sh -u user_id -p password ConfigSerice setauthenticationpw new_host_password Page 368 and Information Center, topic "Upgrading the remote database" (IC75066) The topic should be updated to include this information: "You must upgrade the remote database before you upgrade the Tioli Storage Productiity Center serer." page 485 and Information Center, topic "Error message: SRV0044E" (IC73310) Step 3 of this topic has been updated to include additional instructions: Documentation corrections for IBM Tioli Storage Productiity Center V4.2 5

3. Make sure the Deice serer is running. Run the following commands for the Deice serer: cd <TPC_install_dir>\deice\bin\<platform> seten srmcp -u <user_id> -p <password> ConfigSerice setpw <new_password> Where <new_password> is the new password. This sets the DB2 user ID password (not the DB2 administrator password). page 542 and Information Center, topic "Valid characters for user IDs and passwords" (IC72387) This information has been added to this topic. Tioli Storage Productiity Center does not check the minimum and maximum length for the user ID and password to install Tioli Storage Productiity Center. The user ID and password must also conform to the following items: DB2 naming rules. For information about DB2 naming rules, see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/9r7/index.jsp. Search for General naming rules. WebSphere naming rules. For information about WebSphere naming rules, see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/6r1/ index.jsp. Search for WebSphere MQ naming restrictions. Operating system. Password tool (53519) The password tool information has been added to this release. The tool makes modifications to the DB2, Tioli Storage Productiity Center for Replication, and WebSphere applications so that they can authenticate properly to the operating system wheneer you change the administrator password. Follow these steps to change the DB2 user ID, DB2 serices, and Tioli Storage Productiity Center for Replication password. Important: Use this procedure only if the administrator ID matches the DB2 user ID, DB2 serices, and Tioli Storage Productiity Center for Replication password. 1. Log on to Tioli Storage Productiity Center for using the administrator user ID. 2. Change the password on the system. For Windows Follow these steps: a. From the desktop, click Start > Control Panel. b. On the Control Panel window, double-click User Accounts. c. Click Change your password. d. In the Set Password window, enter the new password twice. Click Change password to change the password. The User Accounts window is displayed again. Close the window. 6 Documentation corrections for IBM Tioli Storage Productiity Center V4.2

For AIX or Linux Run the passwd command logged in with the DB2 user ID. To change other user credentials, run the passwd username command. 3. Open a command prompt window and change the directory to the following default directory: C:\Program Files\IBM\TPC\data\serer\tools (for Windows) /opt/ibm/tpc/data/serer/tools (for Linux or UNIX) Run the following program to start the password tool. changepasswords.bat (for Windows) changepasswords.sh (for Linux or AIX) 4. The Choose the password to change window is displayed. Select the Change DB2 user password for Deice and Data Serer option is selected. Click OK. 5. The Change DB2 user password for Deice and Data Serer window is displayed. 6. Perform the following steps: a. Type the password for the DB2 user ID in both the Enter password and Confirm password fields. b. The Restart the Data and Deice Serer option is selected. Leae it as is and click OK. c. When you see the following message, click Yes. Are you sure you want to change the password? d. The Changing DB2 password for user Administrator window is displayed and shows the progress messages while the password is changed. The process takes approximately 5 minutes. Note: The user "Administrator window" can be "db2admin window" or "db2inst1 window." e. When the message Complete is displayed, click Back to Main. f. The Choose the password to change window is displayed again. Note: For UNIX, the password tool will not check if the WebSphere administratie user ID is the same as the DB2 user ID. The tool will not change the password. In a typical installation, the WebSphere administratie user ID and the DB2 user ID are the same and the WebSphere administratie password must be changed before running the password tool. If this step is not done, the password tool will display an error message when restarting the Deice serer. If this action occurs, update the WebSphere administratie password and start the Deice serer again. 7. For Windows only: Select Change password for the DB2 serices and click OK. 8. For Windows only: The Changing DB2 Serices password window is displayed. Follow these steps: a. Type the user name of the DB2 Serices in the DB2 Serices Username field. b. Type the password that is the same as the password for the user of the DB2 Serice in both the Enter password and Confirm password fields. Click OK. c. Are you sure you want to change the password? d. The Changing DB2 Serices password window is displayed and shows the progress messages while the password is changed. e. When the message Complete is displayed, click Back to Main. 9. The Choose the password to change window is displayed again. Select Change TPC-R password to change the password for Tioli Storage Productiity Center for Replication and click OK. 10. The Change TPC-R password window is displayed. Follow these steps: a. Type the password that is the same as the DB2 user ID password in both the Enter password and Confirm password fields. Click OK. b. When you see the following message, click Yes: Are you sure you want to change the password? c. The Changing TPC-R password window is displayed and shows the progress messages while the password is changed. d. When you see the message Complete, click Back to Main: e. The Choose the password to change window is displayed again. Note: To erify the password changes has completed successfully, check the log located in TPC_install_directory\Data\log\PWTool.log. 11. Click Exit program to exit the password tool. 12. Press any key to continue, and close the command prompt window. This completes the password change. Note: On Windows, if the WebSphere administratie user ID for the Deice serer is the same as the DB2 user ID, the password tool also changes the WebSphere administratie password. (IC75363) The location of reports that are listed in this topic hae been updated. The correct locations of reports are shown below. Use the following table to iew a list of reports that can be generated to answer key questions about storage resources that are monitored by Tioli Storage Productiity Center. What do you want to know? What hardware is currently being used within the enterprise? How much storage space is being used? Of the space that is being used, how much is wasted space? (orphaned, obsolete, or duplicate files) Which report answers this question? What do you want to know? How much unused or unallocated storage space is aailable? Is there enough space to do a backup of our data? (incremental or full) Which files in the enironment are at risk if a disaster hits? What "forbidden files" are taking up storage space on the network? Which user or group of users is consuming space on computers that they should not? How fast are storage resources being consumed? Which user or business unit is consuming the most storage resources? Where is disk space reaching a critical shortage? Which deices hae been experiencing the most use/traffic? Which deices hae been experiencing the least use/traffic? Based on historical consumption, how much storage space should be added and when should it be added? What files hae not been used within a certain time period? What are the largest files or directories within the enironment? What are the most modified files within the enironment? Which computers are up or down within the enironment? What hardware is most prone to error? (for example, disk defects) Which file owners no longer exist in the enironment? Which report answers this question?
