GENERAL Exercise extreme care when handling any electronics equipment as it contains precision parts that can be damaged by improper handling. Avoid touching connector pin surfaces. Foreign matter deposited on contact surfaces can cause corrosion, and eventually lead to degradation of performance. In addition, do not use abrasives to clean contact/pin surfaces. ESD CONSIDERATION Each module contains semiconductor devices that can be damaged by electrostatic discharges. It is advisable to take anti-static precautions when handling electronic boards or static sensitive components. Use an approved anti-static bracelet in accordance with company practice. WATER AND MOISTURE Do not place containers with liquids such as coffee, water, sodas, etc. on the unit. Do not operate this equipment in a wet environment. HEATING Do not install this product near heat sources such as radiators, air ducts, areas subject to direct, intense sunlight, or other products that produce heat. VENTILATION To protect the unit from overheating, when integrating this unit in a rack cabinet, at least 1 RU (4.3 cm) of clearance above and below the unit is necessary to assure sufficient cooling. GROUNDING EARTH CONNECTION IS ESSENTIAL BEFORE CONNECTING TO THE SUPPLY. Ensure that all devices connected to the unit are connected to its protective (earth) ground. Any interruption of the protective grounding or disconnecting the protective earth terminal is likely to make the equipment dangerous. Intentional interruption is prohibited. POWER Make sure the power sources are compatible with the power inputs of the equipment. Verify that the correct fuses are installed. The equipment's protective earth terminals must be connected to the protective conductor of the station earth. The mains AC plug shall only be inserted in a socket outlet provided with a protective earth contact. The protective action must not be negated by the use of an extension cord (power cable) without a protective conductor (grounding). POWER CORD PROTECTION The supplied power cables connected to the unit should be routed or installed in such a manner to protect it from being walked on or pinched. The unit should be powered down completely before connecting or disconnecting the power cable. The power cord should be removed before moving the unit. The power cord must be placed near an easily accessible unobstructed socket outlet. AceCom Networks Pte Ltd. 3

CLEANING Connected and running equipment can only be dusted using a soft dry cloth. ONLY WITH, AUTHORIZED PERMISSION, OUT OF SERVICE & UNPLUGGED equipment can be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Section 1: System Description and Installation Product Overview VCL-GPS-2145, Primary Reference Clock and IEEE-1588 Grandmaster with NTP Server is a high precision, multiservice, cost efficient time and frequency synchronization solution which can be used to provide ITU-T, G.811 reference frequencies which are referenced to a GPS source, as well as to synchronize the time-of-day and frequency across multiple nodes of the network. The VCL-GPS Receiver has an integrated, high bandwidth NTP Server engine that is capable of handling up to 5500 NTP requests per second. Multiple IRIG-B Outputs are also provided to synchronize local clock (time-of-day) display units as well as RTUs to a central timing source with nanosecond accuracy. The VCL-GPS-2145, Primary Reference (PRC) Clock is specifically designed for the synchronization of 2G, 3G, HetNet and LTE mobile telecommunications networks as well as backhaul wire-line SDH / SONET and Synchronous Ethernet networks. It may be also used by Railways, Airports (including air-traffic control), Power generation and distribution companies and other Utility companies who not only require a highly precise time-of-day and G.811 frequency synchronization locked to a GPS Reference but who also need to distribute highly precise time-of-day and frequency synchronization across all nodes of their networks. The VCL-GPS-2145 is always locked to a GPS reference to provide multiple G.811 / Stratum 1 quality frequency and time-of-day (IRIG-B and NTP) outputs. The VCL-GPS-2145 is also equipped highly accurate, low-noise OCXO / Rubidium oscillator which provides a high stability holdover clock that is typical of a Network SSU in the event of the GPS signal or its antenna failure. Section 8: CLI Command Functionality How CLI commands work 1. To configure or show any configuration in system type the relevant CLI command followed by a space, followed by option. Each option is separated by a space key. Example: Command FORMAT: setlocaltimecorrection <SIGN> <HH> <MM> <CLI prompt>setlocaltimecorrection + 02 30{Enter Key} or <CLI prompt>setlocaltimecorrection - 03 15{Enter Key} 2. Intuitive commands Intuitive / predictive command-set help users in typing commands quickly and correctly. To get help from intuitive command-set, type a few letters of the command followed by the Tab key. Example: <CLI prompt>showd{tab Key}{Tab Key} showdate showdisplayformat showdstdates showdst Example: <CLI prompt> showdi{tab Key} <CLI prompt> showdisplayformat 3. Command History Previously used command may be accessed by using UP and DOWN arrow keys. 4. Executing any CLI command shall return the execution status of or FAIL. In case of failed attempt the system shall return the possible failure cause. i.e. 'SYNTAX ERROR' or possible failure cause along with FAIL message. Example: <CLI prompt> setsysmask 23.2.3.4 SYNTAX ERROR <CLI prompt> sethightempthreshold -20 High Threshold value cannot be lower than Low Threshold value FAIL 5. No commands are Case Sensitive though they may be shown in upper and lower case in the user manual for better presentation purpose. Both lower and upper case commands are accepted. 6. Command list may be shown by typing? or help followed by an enter key. 7. To get help for a particular command type? followed by the CLI command text and then followed by the Enter key. <CLI prompt>? help AceCom Networks Pte Ltd. 52
