2 1 Simcast Teleprompter Software Thank your for your purchase of Simcast Teleprompter software. As you will discover Simcast Teleprompter is Simple to use but powerful. 1.1 Getting Started Getting started with Simcast Teleprompter is easy as it will load some scrolling text on first opening. How it works? You can add your own previous created documents saved in Rich Text format.rtf Rich text documents can be created in Microsoft Word or in word pad. When saving your documents with the text to scroll make sure you save as.rtf format. More about this later in editing text to scroll. 1.2 Scroll/Pause To start scrolling text you can simply click the Play/Pause button, if playing (scrolling) it will pause, if paused it will start scrolling. Also the Space bar key on you keyboard has the same effect. By default there will be some text. To open a specific document with the text to scroll click the Load Document button. After the Document has loaded just click play or hit the space bar key. 1.3 Black/White Most Text on teleprompter's is White text on a black background. You can change this to Black Text on a White Background or alternate back to White on Black.
3 Which ever is checked will be the finial visual as shown below. 1.4 Adjustments There are adjustments that can be made in the teleprompter such as font size, speed to scroll, margins, flip display etc. Font Size Adjusting the font size can be done with the slider bar sliding left and right or when the slider bar is focused you can use the left right arrow keys on the keyboard. The same is true for Scroll speed to adjust the speed using the Speed slider bar.
4 Simcast Teleprompter Software Outer Margin The outer margin can be adjusted using the outer margin slider bar this will move the margin including moving the eye line. The Text Margin is similar but will only move the text. The Eye line can have it's width and height resized for preference by using the eye line slider bars.
1.5 5 Display remaining As the Teleprompter is started it displays the reaming percent of text to be scrolled and the time left to scroll all the remaining text. As shown below percentage and time left. 1.6 Eye Line The Eye Line can be adjusted up and down by clicking on the yellow triangle either side, click hold mouse button down move drag up down to adjust. 1.7 Talent Window The Talent Window can be used when a 2nd monitor is connected to the computer or a video distribution unit. This will display the scrolling text in full to the reader without showing the control panel and settings. Is it possible the have it on many monitors as well as the 2nd monitor? yes of course, your technician can set this up for you using a video distribution unit.
6 Simcast Teleprompter Software A video distribution unit will always have one video input and several video outputs they come in various output sizes like 4 way 6 way 12 way and so on. You simply connected the monitor output cable from the computer (VGA / HDMI etc) to the input of the Video distribution unit. When all connected which ever method you use clicking the show talent window button will toggle on/ off the talent window as the external display / display's. 1.8 Flip Display You can flip the display for both Main and Talent Window simply check the box you wish to make changes to. For example to flip the display vertically on the talent window check that box to undo uncheck. 1.9 Edit Text You can edit text on a loaded document via the teleprompter software or by just opening the document
7 via an editor like Microsoft Word. If editing via teleprompter software check the edit inline box now the text on the display screen becomes writeable make your changes and click Save Text then uncheck the Edit Inline box. If you want the changes to be saved as a new document click Save Text As button instead. You can also click the Edit Via word pad button and make changes there. 1.10 Commands Shortcuts There are a number of shortcuts keys to control the teleprompter software and also some via a remote control as a separate control or built in on a keyboard buttons like play pause stop rewind forward + -.
