Prerequisites This section provides prerequisites before proceeding with ASPEN engineering application installation. Both.NET Framework 3.5 and 4.6.2 are required. Installation of Microsoft SQL Server Express is optional, but it will be installed during Aspen installation if no SQL server detected. CHBE VPN is required when install or run Aspen program..net Framework 4.6.2 Installation: 1. Double click folder aspenone_v10 2. Double click folder aspenone_v10_eng 3. Double click folder 3 rd Party Redistributables 4. Double click on folder Microsoft.NET Framework 4.6.2 5. Double click the file NDP462- KB3151800-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe to start installation 6. If it prompts Do you want to allow the following program as indicated below, click Yes and proceed with the installation 7. It will prompt Please accept the license terms to continue, Check I have read and accept the license terms. and click Install 8. Upon completion, click Finish and reboot. Page 3
Installing AnyConnect 3.1 for Connecting to CHBE myvpn Microsoft Windows 7 / 8/10 To install the AnyConnect on Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7/8, please follow the instructions below: 1. Download and run the Windows installer file: https://it.ubc.ca/sites/it.ubc.ca/files/anyconnect-win-3.1.02026-pre-deploy-k9.msi 2. Click Next > 3. Accept the license agreement and click Next > Page 4
4. Click Install 5. You may be asked "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" If so, click Yes 6. Click Finish Page 5

Connecting to CHBE myvpn in Microsoft Windows 1. If you are using Microsoft Windows 7: Open the Start Menu, click on All Programs Select Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Page 7
2. If you are using Microsoft Windows 8/10: Open your Start screen, right click anywhere on the screen that is not an icon/app, and select All Apps Select Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Page 8
3. In the box that appears at the bottom right corner of your screen, enter "myvpn.ubc.ca" in the text field and then click Connect 4. Log in with your CWL credentials (the one being used to register courses), adding.chbe suffix after your CWL as username, i.e. yourcwl.chbe Page 9
5. The Cisco AnyConnect VPN client has successfully connected when you see the popup message on your Desktop. You are now connected over VPN and can start working over the network as you normally would. If you are not able to connect CHBE myvpn with yourcwl.chbe username, please submit a ticket requesting permission from the link below: http://web.it.ubc.ca/forms/apsc/ Page 10
ASPEN Installation This section provides the ASPEN engineering application installation 1. Connect to CHBE myvpn if it is not done 2. Copy all files to your desktop from the USB drive. For those who downloaded installation files, skip this step. 3. Install 7-Zip application by double clicking 7z1604-x64.exe file and complete the installation process 4. Extract ASPEN installation file by right clicking aspenone_v10.7z, then click 7-Zip, then Extract to aspenone_v10_eng-nov2017\ 5. Double click SETUP.exe application under aspenone_v10_eng-nov2017 folder 6. A message will prompt Do you want to allow., Click Yes 7. Welcome to aspenone V10 installer screen will appear 8. Click on aspenone Engineering, then click Begin Install Page 11
9. In aspenone Installer window, click Install aspenone products 10. Read the aspenone Software License Terms will appear 11. Check I accept the terms of this agreement and click Next 12. Choose the aspenone products you want to install will appear, accept the default selection and click Next Page 12
13. Prerequisite Validation screen will appear, click Next 14. Specify licensing & security screen will appear. 15. Enter aspen.license.chbe.ubc.ca in Licenser Server box, click Add Server and click Next. Note:Once you click on Add Server, the URL will change to license3.chbe.ubc.ca 16. aspenone Drive Configuration screen will appear Page 13
17. Leave as-is and Click Next 18. Click Install Now 19. aspenone installation progress screen will appear Page 14
20. Once Installation is finish aspenone installation complete screen will appear 21. Click Reboot Now ASPEN Upgrade: Follow these steps if you are upgrading your Aspen V10 1. Connect to CHBE myvpn if it is not done 2. Copy all files to your desktop from the USB drive. For those who downloaded installation files, skip this step. 3. Verify that you still have 7zip installed on your computer 4. Right click on the aspenone_v10_eng-nov2017.7z file, then click 7-Zip, then Extract to aspenone_v10_eng-nov2017\ 5. Double click SETUP.exe application under aspenone_v10_eng-nov2017 folder 6. Click on the Upgrade or repair existing products button. Page 15
7. Accept the License Terms 8. Accept all default settings and install the upgrade. 9. Once upgrade is finished, restart the computer. Page 16
