INTRODUCTION What is Vivvo? Vivvo CMS is a news, article and media publishing software that enables you to create a full website easily without any knowledge or experience with HTML, Web site design or management. It gives you the power to create different layouts and different styles for each section of the site, different user groups to help you manage your content with a built-in privilege system, and above all, the ultimate Search Engine ranking capability. About this document This document is targeted at business owners and marketers who have implemented Vivvo CMS as a solution to their website maintenance needs. This manual will take you through the process of adding and managing content for your Website Please note most of the screen shots and instructions here are based on Vivvo version 3.5. Plugin: Contact form builder plug-in Description: Vivvo Contact form builder plug-in is used to easily create contact form on your website which serves you to receive message from your site visitors to your email address. Plug-in will check if all the required fields are filled properly, and check their validity How to install? To install Contact form builder plug-in you need to unpack contact.zip and put files (via FTP) into plugins/contact folder on your web server. After files are uploaded, you have to allow write permission (chmod 666) to file plugins/contact/form_shema.php. Most common FTP clients have option to do this. Activation: To activate this plug-in, you have to define how form looks and then to put link anywhere on the site. Go to Control Panel> Templates> Edit templates From the drop down menu select template where you want your contact Us link to appear. Usually in header.tpl Click Open template. Add tag: {PWP_CONTACT_LINK} - (suggest before 'Set as homepage' or after Site Map ) When finished click save template and your form has been activated. Access: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Contact form builder User Level: Admin www.vivvo.net 5

Actions: Create contact form To create your contact form login to your Control Panel and from the main navigation menu select -> Plug-in Modules -> Contact form builder. Contact form builder containing two tabs will load. Fill each one of them. On the first tab (Form details): Contact form caption Gives your form a name. This name will appear as a title of your contact page Mail form data to Defaults to your site admin email address. You can enter any email address you wish to be the recipient of contact emails your web site. Mail subject - Subject field in mail you will receive. Thank you note - Message that appear after contact form is submitted. Warning message - This is a message which will appear when some of the form fields are filled incorrectly. The fields are highlighted when they are not properly filled. www.vivvo.net 6

Second tab - Form content: You may choose one of the field types: Text (standard text), Label (only shows text on your form) Email (verify if email address is enter on the form) Popup field (drop down, enter each lot separated with comma) Check box (standard check box - if required usable for TOS agreement or similar) Radio button Radio buttons are similar to checkbox groups except that they only allow users to select one item from a group of items. Text area field (usefully for longer message) - Text entered into text area cannot be formatted. If the number of text lines exceeds the control s display range, a scroll bar is enabled to allow users to scroll through the item s text. www.vivvo.net 7

Form creation steps: Input type - Choose the appropriate form element - edit box, check box, etc. "Label" input type lets you write any desired plain text on the form page. Label - The text next to a form element describing it. I.e. next to a "email field" you will probably write "Your email address". values list (optional) - Predefined values for a form element. This field is optional. Required - This checkbox should be ticked in case you want the form element to be mandatory. You can input as many fields as you need. Input one field and press for second field. Use link on right side if you have to delete something. After form is submitted, Click on 'send' to confirm it. preview will be show. www.vivvo.net 8

Plugin: Newsletter Description: A newsletter is a periodic publication containing news and announcements on a subject, sent by e-mail only to people who have subscribed to it. Vivvo CMS uses double opt-in standard to minimize spam and mis-ussage, hence make sure that anyone who signs up for a mailing list really wants to be on it. How to install? Newsfeed Importer plug-in is standard part of Vivvo CMS, no installation is needed. Activation: To enable your Newsletter module go to your Vivvo CMS Control Panel. From the left hand navigation menu, Select Preferences-> Home page Preferences In the modules (Boxes) section Find Show Newsletter form option and select If you select "No" your visitors can't see the module. Click, and your newsletter plug in will be available. Access: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Newsletter User Level: Admin www.vivvo.net 9

Actions: User subscription When your visitors decide to subscribe to newsletter list they should enter their email address in Newsletter module on your website, after which they will be sent an e-mail message asking to confirm their intentions. This is called a double opt-in mailing list and will make sure you won t be sending any spam (unsolicited e-mail). Managing subscribers: Log in to your Control panel. Select Plug-in Modules -> Newsletter New page containing summary of all users (confirmed and unconfirmed) will be listed as shown below. Confirmed users: have pass the e-mail confirmation process. Unconfirmed users: have not confirmed that they have requested to be added on your newsletter list. From here, you will be able to see detailed info about your users including Delete option for every respective user. You can filter your users to confirmed subscribers or unconfirmed requests by selecting appropriate button above this list. You can add your users manually by selecting Import from CSV option. Select and new page containing Input csv options will load.. www.vivvo.net 10

To locate your CSV file containing users email addresses select browse button. Use File Upload dialog box to upload your database file and then select Open. In the preview line text box, enter the number of rows you wish to preview before confirming your file upload to be sure that you have selected the desired file. Delimiter field is filed with comma as a default value. Change it only if you are sure that your file contains other symbol. When finished with settings, select detailed settings page will load. button and confirmation message along with Below your CSV file preview section you will be offered to select column from your file containing an e-mail addresses. Mark Import first line of csv file if it contain data (it is usually used for column description) Select Adding only new users Unique addresses if you want to update your users list. Select delete all existing first if you want to overwrite existing users in your users list. Mark Delete file after import if you don t want to keep your file on server Click button and you are done! Confirmation screen will appear and your users will be added into confirmed users list. www.vivvo.net 11

Creating and sending newsletter To Send your newsletter to your subscribers Go to Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Newsletter From the newsletter options select. You are now in the Newsletter Manager. You will be offered to choose if you want to send your newsletter to your subscribers, authors or both. Mark the appropriate field and then type in the Subject (Title) of your newsletter. Enter the content of your newsletter In the text editor (You may find Text Editor detailed info in Vivvo user manual page. 27) In the Unsubscribe text field enter some info for your users. For example, reason for sending newsletter, for example (You have registered to www.myvivvosite.com and requested access to our newsletter) How to unsubscribe info etc.. When you are done creating your content select button. www.vivvo.net 12

Plugin: vbulletin Login Description: VB Login plug-in will let your users have single login for your vbulletin and Vivvo CMS system. With this plug-in, vbulletin registration page for new members will be default, and Vivvo CMS will not use its registration page for new users. How to install? vbulletin Login plug-in is standard part of Vivvo CMS, no installation is needed. Activation: To activate your VB Login module go to your Vivvo CMS Control Panel. From the left hand navigation menu, Select Plugin Modules-> VB Login vbulletin management page will load. Fill in the boxes with the URL and local path where you have installed vbulletin on your server, and choose default level of access that vbulletin users will have on the system guests or regular members. When finished click Submit vbulletin Login button. Access: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> VB Login User Level: Admin Note: In addition, you can display the latest posts from the forum throughout your website by placing {VB_FORUM_BOX} tag in template files. www.vivvo.net 13

Plugin: Sitemap Description: A sitemap is a page that lists links to all the different pages in a website. Vivvo Sitemap will generate page that contain list of all your categories and articles in them. Of course, there are only titles and links for each category / articles. Another option supported by Vivvo CMS is Google sitemap, a xml schema of your site containing categories, articles, and authors. Dynamically generated, XML sitemap helps Google to re-index your site on the fly, keeping your site data fresh and your pages listed at the top of results. How to install? Vivvo sitemap plug-in is standard part of Vivvo CMS, no installation is needed. To activate Google sitemaps go to Google Sitemaps and use your Google Account or create a new one to sign in. Note* If you use Gmail, Google Groups, Alerts, Orkut or Froogle Shopping List, you already have a Google Account. 1. On the Dashboard, type the site URL in the "Add site" field. Make sure you type the entire URL, including http:// prefix. Click "OK." Your site will be listed in the site overview table and beside the site URL you may find Verify link. 2. Verify your site ownership by choosing verification method you prefer. You may choose between adding dinamically generated META tag to your Header template or uploading HTML file to root folder of your website. 3. Add the Site map to your Google Sitemaps account. Default URL to your sitemap file is http://www.myvivvosite.com/sitemap.xml Click Add Web Sitemap button and you are done! Activation Vivvo sitemap By default you have to do nothing. With default templates you got with Vivvo you can found header.tpl. In that template look for tag: {SITEMAP_LINK}. You can move link anywhere on visible area (under <body> tag) or move it to index.tpl (if you want to show them only on main page). www.vivvo.net 14

Plugin: Newsfeed Importer Description: Newsfeeds/RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication"- the way of content exchange between sites. It is highly efficient solution for populating news sites with content, and it has been developed specifically for busy webmasters who are managing numerous websites in need of frequent updates. Newsfeed Importer allows you to pull XML/RSS feeds into your website. You just have to pick the newsfeeds that you want to receive from another (third party) websites. Place them into your Categories, and change the linking information required to receive the Newsfeeds from the different providers. When the content on the source site is updated, it will be also automatically updated on your website Adding a newsfeed to your own website is a very efficient and easy way of providing your users with fresh content all the time (24/7/365). How to install? Newsfeed Importer plug-in is standard part of Vivvo CMS, no installation is needed. You just have to change permissions to following files: plugins/import_feed/import_feed_conf.php - chmod 666 plugins/import_feed/cron_last_work.php - chmod 666 Activation: The feeds are automatically posted to main website area as articles. In order to have this plug-in work automatically, your host (web server) needs to support Remote URL Opening, and crontab. If this, by any chance is not the case, you will be prompted with the appropriate message. In that case, you need to contact your server administrator. To enable automatic news fetching, you need to activate Cron Job that will fetch the news automatically in time interval that you specify within Administration. You can add the cron job on your Web Server in several different ways, but the easiest one is via cpanel -> Cron Jobs. You need to know the path to PHP executable on your server and full path to the cron script. Path to PHP executable is usually /usr/bin/php, as we used in our example, but if this is not the case on your server, you need to contact your Administrator to obtain the correct path. The full path to Vivvo cron script is actually the path you can find in /include/conf.php, so just copy it and append /plugins/import_feed/cron_jobs.php to it. Access: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Newsfeed importer User Level: Admin www.vivvo.net 16

Actions: Import News Feeds Before the beginning you should find your source news site For example: http://news.google.com/ or http://news.yahoo.com/ Note: Websites providing feeds, usually mark their feeds with a bright orange XML/RSS button, ( or or ) so they can be recognized easily. Find desired news category and click RSS button New page will load in your browser. From the address bar Copy entire URL. (CRTL+C) or right mouse click on the address bar and then select Copy. Log in to your Control panel and from the main menu select Plug-in Modules -> Newsfeed importer New page containing your existing categories and subcategories will load. Choose the category where you want this news feeds to appear (or create new category as described in Vivvo User manual page. 9) In the text boxes on the right hand side of your categories paste the RSS link. In the Update interval field, insert time interval (in hours) for fetching news from the source websites. Click Save preferences button and then click Fetch News Now to take on the latest news from the selected resources. Popup page will appear to confirm that your articles has been fetched. www.vivvo.net 17

Note: The content which appears on your site is usually a list of articles. Each article contains a title, summary, and a link to a original web page. The appearance of the newsfeed is adapted to the design of your own website. www.vivvo.net 18

Plugin: Streaming media Description: Streaming Media plug-in allows you to stream audio/video files within your articles. The media files are stored inside local asset manager. Allowed extensions for upload are.wmv,.mov and.swf. How to install? To install streaming media plug-in you need to unpack streaming_media.zip archive and upload files (via FTP) into plugins/streaming_media folder on your web server. After the files are uploaded, run installer. (http://www.your-site.com/plugins/streaming_media/installer.php) Replace www.your-site.com with your actual site URL, and if you installed Vivvo in subfolder make sure to include subfolder name in path). In Vivvo Plugin Installation Streaming Media first step is settings for your streaming media. Click install button to begin installation process. In second step you need to save configuration. Click on finish button and after that, you can log-on automatically on Streaming Media plug-in if you logged in admin control panel before. If you are not logged on system you will be redirected to Admin login page. www.vivvo.net 19

Activation: Your server usually allows upload up to 2 Megabytes, due to the restriction in PHP engine. If you want to upload larger files, use your FTP account, or if the server administrator allows try using php.ini or.htaccess to increase the limit with MAX_UPLOAD_SIZE command. Media files must be uploaded to 'files' directory in order to be crawled and accessible from drop-down menu list. To display media files on your page use {MEDIA_SOURCE} tag in Article_Full.tpl template where you want the media file to appear. For example, if you want your media file to appear below your article body text insert <div id="media_file"> {MEDIA_SOURCE} </div> Below <div id="article_body"> {ARTICLE_BODY} </div> Access: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Streaming media User Level: Admin www.vivvo.net 20

Actions: Upload media file Log in to your Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Streaming media StreamingMedia Article Management page containing two Tabs (Articles and File upload) will load. Click on a "File Upload" tab to enter Asset manager for media files. Use the Browse button to locate the media file on your local computer that you wish to upload. Remember: Allowed extensions for upload are.wmv,.mov and.swf.. Now click Open button. The path name to the selected media file is displayed in the File Upload box. Click on the Upload file button. Confirmation message will appear at the top of the page after your file is uploaded. www.vivvo.net 21

Attach media file to article. When you upload media files, you can attach them to the articles using drop-down menu in the articles list. www.vivvo.net 22

Plugin: Banner management Description: The Banner Manager plug-in is ad tracking and banner management rotation system for serving banners online on your site, by dividing them into different Zones for easier placement in different areas of your website. It also provides basic statistics on impressions, clicks and CTR (click-trrough rate). Allowed file types for banners are.jpg,.gif,.png and.swf (Flash). How to install? To install banner management plug-in you need to unpack vbm.zip archive and upload files (via FTP) into plugins/vbm folder on your web server. After the files are uploaded, run installer (http://www.your-site.com/plugins/vbm/installer.php) Replace www.your-site.com with your actual site URL, and if you installed Vivvo in subfolder make sure to include subfolder name in path). In Vivvo Plugin Installation - Banner Manager first step is settings for your banner manager. You will need to chose folder for your banners and click install. We recommend banners folder. In second step you need to save configuration. www.vivvo.net 23

Click on finish button and after that, you can log-on automatically on Banner Management plug-in page if you were logged in admin control panel before. If you are not logged on system you will be redirected to Admin login page. Activation: After you create Zone and Banners in this Zone you need to generate code of Zone and paste this code in template files. You can paste code in (commonly used templates): - index.tpl - to display on home page. - category_main.tpl - to display on category page. - article_full.tpl - to display in full article view page. You banners in Zone will be in rotating system. Access: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Banner Management User Level: Admin www.vivvo.net 24

Actions: Create new zone: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Banner Management -> Zones: Add new zone. You can create name of new zone. Preview all zones: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Banner Management -> Zones: Preview. You can see banners in zone respectively. Generate code from zone: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Banner Management -> Zones: Generate code. You need to generate code of zone and paste this code in template files. Example: <script language="javascript" src="http://www.mysite.com/plugins/vbm/admin/show.php?show_zone=1"> </script> Delete zone: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Banner Management -> Zones: Generate code. You can delete current zone and all banners in this zone will be deleted. If you want to save any banner you need to remove same banner from zone first, and after that you can delete zone. www.vivvo.net 25

Create new banner: Control Panel -> Plug-in Modules -> Banner Management -> Banners: Add new banner - Select zone: Select the zone where this banner will be. You can change zone later on, or remove banner from the zone. - Banner name: This is the name given to the Banner when it was created. - Show in: Chose new or same window when you click on banner. You banner is displaying in new or same window. - Start date / End date: Chose start and end date of showing you banner. If you checked `Unlimited validity period` you banner will be ignore start and end date. - Status: Active / Pending. Your banner will be displaying in zone if you select active. - Link: Add link for your banner. When click on banner script is automatically, send on click.php script who will be registered clicks and impressions. - Upload file: Select the banner image (.jpg,.jpeg,.gif or.png) or Flash banner (.swf) for upload. To upload a file from a local computer click the Browse button. www.vivvo.net 26

This will open the File Upload dialogue window. Navigate to the location of the desired file on the local hard drive. Select the file and click the Open button. The dialogue window will disappear and the path to, and name of, the file will appear in the Upload file field.
