1 PAPERSAVE HARDWARE & SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS This section outlines the Minimum Hardware and Software requirements for the installation of the PaperSave Application assuming the constant operations typically performed by 40 concurrent users. 1.1 MINIMUM HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS 1.1.1 SERVER HARDWARE PaperSave Data Access Web Service Processor Dual Core CPU with 2.5 GHz Processing Speed or higher RAM 1 GB Other Requirements.Net Framework 3.5 SP1.Net Framework 4.5 10/100 Mbit or higher Graphics Card Super VGA PaperSave Data Access Web Service Deployment Recommendations PaperSave Data Access Web Service should be installed on a separate site under IIS. The site should be secured with a SSL Certificate and protected through a corporate Firewall so that the only IP that can access it is the IP of your PaperSaveCloud server. This is provided to you by your project team. The site should be bind with an IP address. There should be a dedicated domain user, which runs the PaperSave Data Access Service. The same user should have data_reader rights over the Host Application s Company database(s). There should be another and only domain user, which has browsing rights for PaperSave Data Access Web Service. Page 1

1.1.3 SCANNER REQUIREMENTS PaperSave supports the use of local (USB) and networked scanners & copiers. All scanners must have the ability to scan files using the following output settings. Multi-Page TIFF file type FTP site or Network Shared Folder 300dpi resolution Black & White (monochrome/1-bit) color setting ScanNow and PaperSave Scan (Capture) requires the use of Twain Drivers so networked scanners will not work for those features. Also scanning through PaperSave using ScanNow or PaperSave Scan (Capture) can only be done within machines that run a Windows Operating System with.net 3.5 installed on it. Scanning within PaperSave Web Client User Interfaces is only supported when the Web Client is being used within Internet Explorer 10+ on a Windows machine with.net 3.5 installed on it. Please download and use the barcode test utility, to test the fitness and ability of any scanner that will be used to drive batches of scans that will be separated using a barcode separation mechanism (ScanFirst into Workflow, or ScanLater ) to the PaperSave Drop Point Processing (Batch Scanning) Service or PaperSave Scan (Capture) Local (USB) Scanners. Below you will find a list of recommended local (USB) scanners, and their requirements. Recommended USB (local) Scanners Fujitsu fi-6 series TWAIN-Compliant USB Scanner Fujitsu fi-7 series TWAIN-Compliant USB Scanner If the scanner chosen is not from our recommended list of UBS scanners, then the scanner must be TWAIN-Compliant in order to be used within for ScanNow or PaperSave Scan (Capture) feature(s). 1.1.4 OTHER PERIPHERALS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS Validated (compliant with technical settings requirements) centralized multi-function equipment with scanning functions and capability to define Pre-set Functions Buttons for Drop point processing (Batch scanning) purposes. PaperSave recommends dual monitors (or large screen monitor) on workstation(s) utilizing PaperSave Workflows, Workflow Entry Viewer to perform data entry into Host Application windows from an item in a PaperSave Workflow or Workflow queue. Windows Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) requires the use of a TWAIN redirection add-on in order to support the use of ScanNow and or PaperSave Scan. PaperSave has worked with add-ons such as Remote Scan (www.remote-scan.com) and TS Scan (www.tssscan.com) in the past, but does not endorse or support those tools. Page 3
1.2 MINIMUM SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS 1.2.1 CLIENT SOFTWARE Operating System Note: Windows XP is NOT supported. Client on Windows Terminal Server or Citrix Windows Server 2008 or higher Citrix Presentation Server 4.x or higher (if applicable) (These versions of Citrix support TWAIN Redirection which allows for the use of ScanNow and or PaperSave Scan (Capture) without the need for a third party TWAIN redirection add-on) Windows Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) requires the use of a TWAIN redirection add-on in order to support the use of ScanNow and or PaperSave Scan (Capture). Browser to Support PaperSave Web Client User Interfaces IE 10 and Above, Mozilla Firefox*, Safari, Google Chrome* (all latest versions) Note: Scanning with PaperSave Web Client User Interfaces is only supported when the Web Client is being used within Internet Explorer 10+ on a Windows Machine with.net 3.5 installed on it. Editing annotations within the Web Client is only supported for PDFs; and requires Silverlight 4.0 that is supported on all the above-mentioned browsers. Apple Safari is only supported for Mac. *Print, Email and Scan functionality within PaperSave s web client requires installing small utility applications that are delivered over Microsoft s ClickOnce deployment technology. ClickOnce Page 4
applications can be deployed by a user simply by clicking on a link and following accepting simple terms. ClickOnce applications also update automatically when the PaperSave s server systems are updated. ClickOnce applications are only supported on Windows Operating systems (not on Macs). To ensure maximum compatibly with minimum effort we recommend using Internet Explorer as your default browser for the PaperSave Web Client. Internet Explorer supports ClickOnce URLs out of the box. Other browsers are also able to support ClickOnce URLs but they require the use of third party plugins in order to do so. These plugins are freely available on the plugins store of all the major non-microsoft browsers at the time that this document was produced. 2 IT PRE-REQUISITES FOR PAPERSAVE 2.1 PAPERSAVE OCR (OPTIONAL) PaperSave 6.0 Service Pack 2 introduces new PaperSave embedded OCR Module with out of the box Accounts Payable Invoice Templates and built in operator learning features. PaperSaveCloud TM Customers do not need specific additional hardware or software requirements to use the PaperSave OCR module. The PaperSave OCR module will be securely communicating with our OCR service in PaperSave s Cloud to securely execute the extraction of your data from your images. 2.2 SCANNER SETUP & CONFIGURATION Desktop & Network Scanners If you are using a desktop scanner, make sure the device is TWAIN compliant and that its drivers are installed on the user s workstation. If a user will be scanning to Workflow Queues/drop points using that scanner, make sure that an application that will allow us to scan to a mapped network drive, such as Scan All Pro or Microsoft Office Document Scanning is installed. If you are using a multi-function device such as a network copier, make sure that the device has access to the location where the Workflow Queue/Drop point Watch Folders will be shared from, and that the device can output scanned documents in the following format: 300dpi, black & white (monochrome), Multi-Page TIFF file format. Use the PaperSave Barcode Test Utility to test your scanner. Load the utility and generate a barcode. Save the barcode, print, then scan it using the desired scanner and save the file. Browse to that file and run the utility. You will get a result letting you know whether the barcode was detected. If you experience issues with this, contact PaperSave Support. PaperStream IP Software PaperStream IP is a software with high quality image processing and user-friendly intuitive operability scanner. The software easily and automatically converts any documents into exceptionally clear image data, which boosts work efficiency and productivity. This software is provided with Fujitsu scanners and is available for the Fujitsu fi-6 series and fi-7 series scanner.
