LESSON PLAN FOR INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) PRATOMSUKSA 2 CHAPTER SUBCHAPTER WEEK LEARNING OBJECTIVES POSSIBLE TEACHING ACTIVITIES POSSIBLE LEARNER ACTIVITIES LEARNING OUTCOMES KEY VOCABULARY 1 Data and Information Importance of Data and Information 1, 2, 3 To know that data and information are two important things needed to solve problems and make decisions Give examples of daily activities such as carrying an umbrella after listening to the weather forecast. Brief learners on which is the data and which is the information in the said situation. Guide them to conclude the data and information required to solve the problem encountered. Learners can form groups and role-play situations that show importance of data and information to solve the problem encountered. Eg, when a schoolgirl misses her school bus, what will she do next? What kind of information does she need, and how a particular information can be helpful to solve her problem at that time? understand that data and information are needed to solve problems and make decisions. - Data - Information - Problem-solving Learners may say out which are the data obtained, and the information needed to solve the above problem effectively. Learners can talk about which data helped them to make decisions. 1 Lesson Plan for ICT Pratomsuksa 2

Collecting Data and Information 4, 5, 6 To know how to collect valid data and information To verify the data and information received Introduce some of the methods that can be used to collect data and information, eg. conducting surveys and interviews, and browsing the Internet Prepare a simple questionnaire (survey forms) on a chosen topic and guide learners how to use it. Guide learners on how to verify the data and information received by cross-checking. E.g. give a piece of false information such as spiders are insects. Then guide learners to verify that information by looking up in different encyclopedias. Learners can try giving out questionnaires prepared by their teacher to the class. They can then sort out the data obtained into tables, and try to get some information which they can use to make decisions or conclusions. Learners can try to verify information received by reading up more materials from the library. understand a few common methods that can be used to collect data and information. - Learner should able to verify data or information received by crosschecking. - Data - Information - Collecting - Methods - Decision - Conclusion - Cross-check 2 Parts of a Computer Input Devices 7, 8 To recognize the main input devices of a computer the keyboard and mouse To know some examples of other input devices such Show the main parts of a computer to the class (system unit, monitor, keyboard and mouse).
