Page 3 of 25 Introduction Start Pixie. You will see a blank page. You can use activities in Pixie to start your projects. Click the Project button on the toolbar.

Page 4 of 25 You will see the Project menu. Move over the New option in the list on the left. You will see the Activities folders at the bottom of the window. Click the All About Me folder.

Page 5 of 25 Click the My Family activity. The activity will open in Pixie. Use the Shape Tool You can use the Shape tool to paint a circle. This is a great way to start painting faces. Click the Paint button on the toolbar. Click the Shape tool on the tool palette.

Page 6 of 25 You will see shapes in the Tool Options area. Click the circle. Click the solid square button below the shapes to draw a solid circle. Click the brown, or tan, color on the color palette. Click and drag the slider to find a brown that matches your skin.

Page 7 of 25 Move over the picture. The pointer will change to a crosshair. Move to the place you want to begin painting. Click and hold down as you drag across the page. You will see a circle.

Page 8 of 25 Use the Undo Button You can undo your work if you want to try again. Click the Undo button the toolbar. The last thing you painted will undo. Use the Paint Brush Tool You can use the Paintbrush tool to paint on a page. Click the Paintbrush tool on the tool palette.

Page 9 of 25 You will see the brush options. Click and drag the Size slider to change the size of the brush. Click the color on the color palette that most closely matches your hair color. Click and drag the slider to adjust the shade of that color.

Page 10 of 25 Move over the picture. The pointer will change to a paintbrush. Move to the place you want to start painting your hair. Click and drag the pointer to paint with the Paintbrush tool. Paint a Face Use the Paintbrush tool to add more hair if you need to.

Page 11 of 25 Click the Undo button on the toolbar to try again. Move over the picture where you want to paint one of your eyes. Click and drag to paint. Move the pointer where you want to paint your other eye. Click and drag to paint an eye.

Page 12 of 25 Click the Undo button on the toolbar if you want to try again. Click a red color on the color palette for your mouth. Move over the picture where you want to paint your mouth. Click and drag to paint your mouth. Click the Undo button on the toolbar to try again.

Page 13 of 25 Repeat these steps to paint pictures of the rest of your family. Add Your Name to the Page Click the Options button on the toolbar. You will see the empty Name field. Click in the field. Type your name. Your name will show in the upper right corner of the page. Move Between Pages Click the green arrow at the bottom of the screen. You will see the Things I Do At Home page.

Page 14 of 25 Add a Sticker You can add clip art to your picture from the Clip Art Library. Click the Library button on the toolbar. You will see the folders in the Library.

Page 15 of 25 Click the Stickers folder to open it. You will see the folders in the library. The Stickers panel has a scrollbar on the right. Use the scrollbar to see the Food folder.

Page 16 of 25 Click the Food folder to open it. You will see more food folders.

Page 17 of 25 Click and drag the scrollbar to see the Snacks folder. Click the Snacks folder to open it. You will see the stickers in the Snacks folder.

Page 18 of 25 Click your favorite kind of snack food. The images will be added to the page. Add More Stickers Click the Home or Back button at the top of the Stickers panel.

Page 19 of 25 Explore the folders to find another sticker you want to add. You can also search for images in the library. Click the Search field at the bottom of the Stickers panel. Type a word to describe an image you want to add. Click the magnifying glass on the right side of the field. You will see images that match this search. Click an image you want to use. Click and drag it onto the page.

Page 20 of 25 Move a Sticker You can move a sticker to a new place on the page. Click the sticker of your favorite snack. The pointer will change to four arrows.

Page 21 of 25 Click and drag the sticker to a new place on the page. The sticker will stay in this new place on the page. Click and drag to move the other sticker. Resize a Sticker You can resize a sticker. Click the sticker to select it. Move over one of the handles on the corner of the sticker. The pointer will change to two arrows.

Page 22 of 25 Click and drag to resize the sticker. Drag away from the middle of the sticker to make it larger. Drag toward the middle of the sticker to make it smaller. The sticker will stay at this new size. Resize other stickers you want to change. Practice with Stickers Practice adding more stickers. Click the Home button on the Stickers panel to browse folders. Click the Search field and type in a keyword. Save You can save this Pixie file.

Page 23 of 25 Click the Save button on the toolbar. You will see the save dialog. You will see My Family as the name for the file. Click the Save button. Print as Table Tent You can print the pages as a table tent. This will print one piece of paper with both of your pictures. You can then fold it and stand it on a table. Click the Project button on the toolbar. You will see the Project menu. Click the Print option in the list on the left. Click the Layouts pull-down menu and choose Table Tent.

Page 24 of 25 Click the Print button. The pictures will print. Fold the paper in half and put it on your desk as a table tent. Conclusion Close Pixie.
