Select a suitable location for the camera and ensure that the area is free from all cables, fuel & oil. Whenever possible, avoid locations that are subject to road dirt & water spray. 2. Using the supplied mounting bracket, mount the camera in the required position and connect the camera to the camera connection cable. 3. Connect the Red auto switching reverse image input wire to the reversing light circuit or an interface which provides a reverse signal. 4. Attach the mirror to the existing mirror with the supplied rubber straps. 5. Connect the 2.5mm plug on the camera connection cable into the Female 2.5mm socket on the mirror 6. Insert a suitable SD card into the mirror, connect the mini USB connector into the mirror and connect the cigarette lighter adapter to the vehicle. 7. Check for normal operation and that the reverse camera image and guidelines are displayed when reverse gear is engaged. 8. Adjustment of the camera may be required to ensure that the correct angle of the image is achieved. 2 www.connects2.com
FUNCTIONS: Power-on Recording: Recording will automatically start when power is connected. When power is disconnected, the current file is saved and the mirror switches off. Note, recording time can be set in the Video Clip Time option in the menu. Once the SD card is full, previous power-on recordings will be deleted by the latest recording. Videos from the front and rear camera are stored separately in folders marked F (front) and R (rear) Manual Recording: A short press of the OK button starts the Manual Recording function. A short press of the OK button stops the recording and the file is saved. Photo Mode: A short press of the Mode button will switch the mirror to Photo mode. The icon in the top left corner of the screen will display a camera icon instead of a motion picture camera icon. A short press of OK button will take a photo. Use the up/down arrows to zoom in or out. Press Mode button 3 times to return to recording mode. Motion Detection Recording: Press the Menu button twice to enter settings menu. Using the up or down arrows, highlight Motion Detection option and press the OK button. Using the up and down arrows, select the desired option and press the OK button to save option. An icon will appear on the screen to indicate that the feature has been enabled. Note, the setting is disabled when the camera is switched off. Lane Departure Warning: Press the Menu button once to enter the settings menu. Using the up or down arrows, highlight LDWS option and press the OK button. Using the up or down arrows, select the desired option and press the OK button to save option. Press the Menu button once and select LDWS calibration using the up/down and OK buttons. Calibrate the LDWS to suit and exit. The screen will now display lane guidelines and beeps when the car departs the lane. Forward Collision Warning: Press the Menu button once to enter the settings menu. Using the up of down arrows, highlight FCWS option and press the OK button. Using the up or down arrows, select the desired option and press the OK button to save option. The camera will monitor the situation within 50 meters in front of the vehicle and beeps when an object is too close. G Sensor Recording: Press the Menu button twice to enter settings menu. Using the up or down arrows, highlight G Sensor Recording option and press the OK button. Using the up and down arrows, select the desired option and press the OK button to save option. When G Sensor Recording is enabled, a small icon will appear in the display. If the vehicle is involved in a crash, the camera will automatically start to record and will continue up to 10 seconds after the event. The recorded file is locked, stored as a special file and won t be deleted by power-on recordings. Locked files will begin with Event and normal files begin with Normal www.connects2.com 3
FUNCTIONS: Park Monitor Recording: Press the Menu button twice to enter settings menu. Using the up or down arrows, Parking Monitoring option and press the OK button. Using the up and down arrows, select the desired option and press the OK button to save option. When Park Monitor Recording is enabled, a small icon will appear in the display. The camera can sense movement via the G sensor in stand-by mode and will record up to 3 minutes when triggered. Audio Recording: When in recording mode, press the up arrow button for more than one second to switch on/off audio recording mode. Viewing Mode Adjustment: A short press of the up arrow button will change the viewing mode from Front, Rear and Picture in picture modes. BUTTON FUNCTIONS: Power Button Short press switches on system and also toggles between normal and screen saver mode Long press saves current video then switches off Menu Button Enters menu structures & general settings Mode Button Switches between recording mode, photo mode & playback mode Note, press the Menu button to enter into the function settings of each mode Activates emergency lock function In recording mode, if the vehicle is involved in an accident, a short press of Mode button will lock any videos taken 5 seconds before and up to 10 seconds afterwards. The locked files will be stored in a special folder and will not be deleted when the SD card is full.
