Registration Instructions: NY State of Health Assistor Online Certification Training A S t ep - by- S tep User G u ide Welcome to Cicatelli Associates (CAI) s online registration system for the NY State of Health Assistor Certification Training. We look forward to your participation in this program. These trainings are for individuals who are already employed by established NY State of Health Assistor agencies or agencies who are looking to become established Assistor agencies. This training is not for brokers or individuals seeking credentials or skills to help them find employment. There are two NY State of Health Assistor Certification training options available: 1) Complete the Online Assistor Certification training, or 2) Attend a three (3) day in-person session Below you will find instructions on how to register and access the NY State of Health Online Assistor Certification training.

Registering for the Online Course Step 1: Accessing the Online Learning Website Follow this registration link. o If the above link does not work, copy and paste the following into your browser: http://lms.caiglobal.org When the site loads, on the right of the screen, click the yellow Create new account button under the heading New User? Register Here. If you see the following screen, click Allow. If you do not see this screen, continue to Step 2. Note: Google Chrome is the preferred browser for viewing this course. Additionally, it is optimal to view this course on a desktop or a laptop computer.

Step 2: Choosing a Username and Password Note: Required fields are designated by an asterisk (*). You will not be able to complete the user registration process without entering information in these fields. All other fields are optional. Username*: o Under the Choose your username and password section, choose a username and enter it in the Username field. Enter a username that is easy to remember. o You must use lowercase letters. Password*: o Enter your desired password into the Password field. o The password must have at least 8 characters, consisting of at least 1 digit(s), at least 1 lower case letter(s), at least 1 upper case letter(s), at least 1 non-alphanumeric character(s). o Click on unmask circle if you would like to see letters being typed. Please be sure that you can remember or access this username and password for future use. The course contains approximately 15 hours of learning, and you will need to log in using this username and password each time you return to the certification course. Step 3: Entering Professional Information Fill out the registration form with the appropriate information. Please note that the asterisk (*) indicates that the field is required: Professional Information o Email Address* Be sure to use your work email address and not your personal email o Confirm Email* o First Name*

If you choose to fill this out, it is used only for demographic purposes. o Organization Name* o Organization Type* o If Not Listed, Specify Organization Type: o Work Address* o Work Phone* o City* o State* o Zip Code* o Site Name If you do not know what to enter, please leave this blank or enter N/A o Department/Division* If you do not have a Department or Division, or do not know what to enter, please enter N/A o Current Title* o Supervisor s Name* o Supervisor s Email* o Position Type* Demographics

Note: These fields are not required. If you choose to fill these out, click on the Demographics title to reveal the fields under demographics section. o o o o o o Highest Degree Gender Identity If Not Listed, Specify Gender Identity: Are you of Hispanic, Latino or Spanish origin? Race If Not Listed, Specify Race: Step 4: Choosing Your Program Under Choose Your Program, select Assistor Certification/NY State of Health from the dropdown. Click on the Create my new account button at the bottom of the page Step 5: Confirming Your Account Confirmation Page: Once you have clicked the button to create your new account, you will be brought to a confirmation page indicating that an automated email will be sent to your inbox. o This email may take up to 5 minutes to appear. If the email has not appeared in your inbox, check your spam or junk mail folder. o **IF THE EMAIL HAS GONE TO YOUR SPAM OR JUNK MAIL FOLDER, DRAG THE EMAIL INTO YOUR INBOX BEFORE CLICKING ON THE LINK. If you do not receive an email within 5 minutes of registering, contact lms_support@caiglobal.org for further support. If possible, contact your IT team and have them whitelist the following domains in their firewall: caiglobal.org, lms.caiglobal.org and lmsserver.caiglobal.org

Confirmation Email: Your email will come from LMS Support lms_support@caiglobal.org, and the subject heading will read CAI E-Learning Platform: account confirmation. Click on or enter the link that is listed in the email and you ll be brought back to the login page.

Step 6: Logging In Once you have clicked on the link to confirm your account, enter the Username and Password you selected in Step 2. Note: Please only click the link one time, and wait for the page to load. Clicking the link more than once could lead you to an error screen (see below). Troubleshooting: o If you see the screen below after you click to confirm your account, this is an error. Log out of the site, and log back in to proceed to the next step.

Step 7: Entering the Online Course After you log in for the first time with your username and password, click on the dark blue link stating NY State of Health Assistor. Next, click on the blue button stating Click here to begin the Assistor Training.

Step 8: Entering the Course Password After you click the link the site will ask you for the course password under Self enrollment (Student). This is different than your login password. This password is provided by your supervisor and is case-sensitive. Click the button stating Enroll me. You will now be brought to the main course page.

Step 9: Filling Out the Pre-Course Questionnaire You must take a Pre-Course Questionnaire before starting your online modules. Click the image Click here to take the Pre-Course Questionnaire Fill out the information in the pre-course questionnaire. All of this information is required to continue with the course. Questionnaire: 1. What is your agency (Dropdown)?* Please take the time to search for your agency in the dropdown options listed here. You can enter the first two letters of your agency name in the data field and you will be brought to that section of the list without having to scroll. If you are a subcontractor of a Navigator agency, you may need to check and select the lead agency name. Additionally, if your agency has more than one word in its title you may want to search the agency dropdown using the first letter of each word. For example, if you work for The Floating Hospital, check under

T for the The Floating Hospital or under F for Floating Hospital. If you work for The Salvation Army, check under T for The Salvation Army and under S for Salvation Army. Please thoroughly search for your agency by name. If you do not see your agency listed, you must contact Assistor.Admin@health.ny.gov to request permission to continue with this certification course. 2. What is your supervisor s phone number?* 3. What is your Assistor type (Dropdown)?* Navigators: Assistors Grant funded by the Department of Health Marketplace Facilitated Enroller (MFE): Assistors who work specifically for Health Plans Certified Application Counselor (CAC): All other application Assistors working in Community Based Organizations, Hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers, Providers, Healthcare Billing Agencies, Clinics, etc. 4. Agency Type (Dropdown)* 5. Is this your first time attending training?* Select No if you have previously been certified through the 3- day in-person training, or if you have been certified through this online course. If this is not your first time taking the Assistor Certification training, please enter your Assistor Certification Number. You can find this under Account Holder Info in your NY State of Health Account. It is the same as your identification number and is a nine (9) digit number that appears on your dashboard (xxxxxxxxx). Please be sure to enter your nine (9) digit Assistor Certification number, without the dash. For example, if your number is 123-456789, enter 123456789. 6. Are you eligible to provide enrollment services to deaf and hearing impaired consumers? * Click Submit Questionnaire. You may now begin the course. For instructions on accessing the course in the future, see the section on Logging in as an Existing User.

Beginning the Course The course is divided into 6 sections, each containing 1 to 6 modules. To access the first module, click on the first section, Introduction to the ACA & Your Role, which holds Modules 1, 2 and 3. Click on the icon to be brought to the landing page for Module 1. On this landing page, click the link to launch the module.

Once you complete the module, close out of that window and click the link for the next module.

Logging in as an Existing User Follow this registration link. o If the above link does not work, copy and paste the following into your browser: http://lms.caiglobal.org When the site loads, on the left of the screen, enter the Username and Password you selected in Step 2. o You can click Remember username if you plan to log in on the same computer, so that you do not have to enter your username each time you come to the website. You will be brought to the course page. Click on the top-most link to return to your course.

Once the screen loads, scroll down and click on the section containing your next module. o Completed sets of modules will appear with a check mark and the label Completed Modules. o The section you are currently in will have the standard section label:

o Once you click on the section, the module you are on will appear. You can also check your progress with the progress bar on the left of the screen: o Completed modules are indicated by check marks. o You can hover your mouse over the blocks to show the module numbers.

Accessing Frequently Asked Questions and Updates To access the pages on course-related Frequently Asked Questions, and any Newsflash policy update, you can click on the links on the left-hand side of the course page: Forgot Username or Password? Follow this registration link. o If the above link does not work, copy and paste the following into your browser: http://lms.caiglobal.org When the site loads, on the left of the screen, click on Forgot your username or password?
