Qualifications for Corporate Solutions Non-credit instructors Several factors will be considered when matching instructors with training opportunities identified by Corporate Solutions. They are: Certifications Where required by government regulations or client requests, instructors must hold current certifications related to governmental, professional associations, industry associations, or private credentialing organizations. Background and Experience The following are considerations in examining a potential instructor s match for a particular client or workshop. 1. Educational background in the area 2. Documented ability to identify learning outcomes and competencies needed for a particular workforce skill 3. Documented ability to develop learning outcomes, adult learner instructional strategies, instructional aides, and student materials appropriate to the outcomes and competencies required. These items may be drawn from academic teaching experience. 4. Ability to evaluate adult learner progress and adjust delivery, if necessary, to achieve student outcomes. 5. Documentation may include: student evaluations from previous workshops, client references, participant materials, instructional aides, and group or individual exercises for participants. 6. Experience with specific audience characteristics such as industry, age group, management level, or socio-economic characteristics. 7. Where appropriate, documented experience in assisting at least 70% of students attain a passing score on certification examinations. Documented ability to adhere to College or other administrative requirements such as attendance reporting, timely submission of required paperwork, and timely submission of materials needed to conduct the training. The following are additional considerations in selecting faculty for workforce development non-credit activities: Responsiveness - timeline for response: Often clients require a response (name and background of consultative trainer) same day or within 24 hours. Our experience to date is that such a response time window is problematic for our faculty. Experience with corporate audience: Most employers want evidence of prior established track record of corporate training - consultative training experience with adults in a workplace training environment. Expertise in content area: Clients ask for evidence of content experience in specific industry sector, services delivered and/or product line. Clients also expect trainers to be current in area under consideration - example - technology specific area cannot be generalized in certain cases and trainer needs to show evidence of current body of knowledge and applications. Availability for meetings: In the CS corporate contract training business the client often expects the proposed consultative trainer to be available without charge for advance meetings to discuss needs (needs assessment), possible solutions and program delivery options. Further, these meetings often need to take place within days of an initial call. Customer focus: Our clients are focused on CCP-CS's ability to provide training, education and services that meet their articulated needs - on their terms, at their site of choice and on their calendar e.g., it may not be based on established Colleges semesters, calendars or faculty availability. Corporate Culture Protocols: Clients have an expectation that individuals providing consultative training and related services have an appreciation for their environment and dress, communicate and interface with their employees in a manner consistent with their "organization culture."
