(double-click the BIOS.exe and copy files to a bootable diskette from desktop if the bios a: command fails) Boot the system to DOS mode. (If booting to Resource CD, press F5 when starting ROM-DOS to bypass loading CONFIG.SYS) Run A:> 1.bat When BIOS flash is over it will show message and beep, then reboot. Note: The boot to DOS must be non-himem management environment. Known Issues/Workarounds Microsoft NT* 4.0 can be installed successfully. But there exists some issue that sometimes system will hang at reboot point during installation. If system hangs at reboot point, user can continue to install it by restarting system. {SE7500CW2} 2
Issues fixed since last release. Intel Server Board SE7500CW2 This BIOS release 1.27 is based on 1.25. Defect# 50338 The screen is black when disabled floppy disk controller in BIOS Setup. Upgrade the micro code for B0 stepping of CPU (CPUID=F24) and C1 stepping of CPU (CPUID=F27). 1. For B0 stepping of CPU: Patch ID=10h Patch ID=1dh Date: 07/19/2002 Date: 01/16/2003 2. For C1 stepping of CPU: Patch ID=28h Patch ID=34h Date: 07/22/2002 Date: 11/06/2002 Adjust the based value of ambiance temperature from zero to -8 degrees Celcius. BIOS Recovery Instructions The crisdisk.exe content: CRISDISK.BAT - Executable file for creating the crisis recovery diskette. PHLASH.EXE - Programs the flash ROM. BIOS.ROM - Actual BIOS image to be programmed into flash ROM. MINIDOS.SYS - Allows the system to boot in crisis recovery mode. MAKEBOOT.EXE - Creates the custom boot sector on the crisis recovery diskette. WINCRIS.EXE - Creates the crisis recovery disk under Windows NT/2000/95/98. WINCRIS.HLP - Help file for WINCRIS.EXE Under DOS environment: o Boot the system to pure DOS mode. o Insert a clean diskette into drive A: o From the local directory, enter the following: C:\PHLASH> CRISDISK.BAT o The CRISDISK.BAT formats the diskette, then copies MINIDOS.SYS, PHLASH.EXE, PLATFORM.BIN and BIOS.ROM to the diskette, and creates the required custom boot sector. Set diskette as "Write protect" and label it as "the Crisis Recovery Diskette". Under Windows NT*, Windows* 2000, 95, and 98 environment: o Boot to Windows. o Execute C:\PHLASH>WINCRIS.EXE Note: 98. This will not build a recovery diskette by running CRISDISK.bat from the DOS prompt under Windows NT*, Windows* 2000, 95, and It will result in failure recovery diskette. Please follow the steps to force to execute BIOS recovery. Auto recovery: o If ROM checksum is error during POST, do BIOS recovery. User Recovery: o Power off system. o Plug jumper to motherboard J106 pin 3-4. o Insert recovery diskette to floppy o Power on system. o System will beep during recovery. o After no beep, the recovery is OK. o Power off system o Remove jumper from motherboard J106 pin 3-4. {SE7500CW2} 4
