WHAT S NEW IN ORACLE USER PRODUCTIVITY KIT PROFESSIONAL Release 11.1, ESP1

Overview Oracle User Productivity Kit v11.1 improves existing functionality and provides powerful new features that further the value and benefits that UPK brings to the enterprise application implementation lifecycle. UPK 11.1 includes new and improved features for recording, testing, collaboration and communication, as well as Player support for Apple ipad and support for tracking usage of third party content in Knowledge Center. Release 11.1 The following features are included in release 11.1. Recording Oracle User Productivity Kit v11.1 provides new feature enhancements focused on enabling virtually anyone in the enterprise to participate in the UPK content development lifecycle. Whether capturing institutional knowledge, documenting the current state or capturing the steps to recreate an issue in an enterprise system, Record It! and the streamlined topic editor simplifies content creation and enables any user to quickly create and edit content in minutes without having to learn UPK. Subject matter experts, testers and business process owners can review topics, add author notes, and assign content for review making content contribution and knowledge sharing more efficient across the enterprise.. 2

Testing Ease the burden of user acceptance testing by using UPK to create and deploy test plans and in-application tester support. With the addition of the new Comments Pane in the Topic editor, Authors can now add expected results to populate Test Case, Test Document and Test It! outputs with the expected behavior for each step of the test plan. To assist in the execution of UAT, UPK 11.1 introduces real time performance support specifically designed for testing. Test It! simulations guide the tester through a test plan and streamline the capturing and compiling of test step results and tester comments. When issues are discovered, they are easily documented through a Test Step Notes editor which is linked to each test step. The process of logging defect reports is simplified with the ability to automatically generate the text of the steps necessary to recreate the problem. TEST IT! TEST STEP NOTES TEST IT! STEPS TO RECREATE ISSUE 3

Available as a publishing option for the UPK Player, Test It! can be published in any existing combination of Player modes enabling the tester to review test procedures in a simulated environment prior to running the actual tests. UPK content review can be accelerated using Test It! as a content review tool. Content reviewers can review topics in the Test It! player assigning pass / fail to each topic frame and provide feedback using the Test Step Notes to direct UPK authors to the issue or needed correction. At the completion of each Test It! topic, UPK generates a test summary and detailed report which can be used to correct the issues. Test It! Detailed Report 4

Topic Frame Commenting A new control pane, Frame Comments, has been added in the Topic Editor to better facilitate content development. Expected Results enables authors to enter the expected results used to evaluate the success or failure of a test step directly in the UPK development environment simplifying test script creation and maintenance. Expected Results are available in the test case, and test document outputs as well as the new Test It! mode. Author Notes enable authors to store internal notes at a topic frame level and can be added during recording and content editing to enhance their content creation and knowledge transfer efforts. Similar to Topic level Instructor Notes, Frame level Instructor Notes provide a method to communicate content guidance in curriculum development projects where content will be handed off for delivery. Instructor notes can be added to the Instructor Manual or other document outputs via a new document publishing style bookmark. Knowledge Center 5

UPK Knowledge Center introduces a streamlined user interface and the addition of a new channel of communication for users to provide feedback on specific content areas with authors. This direct channel of communication, in context with course content, provides a critical link between authors / training managers and audience and can assist with identifying gaps in content coverage or issues that slip by content quality checks. Feedback Monitors can be designated on the Title Properties screen for each title and can view and reply to Feedback comments for the entire title. The Knowledge Center s Expert Advice feature has been enhanced to streamline the assignment of Experts to titles and removes the exclusive assignments of experts to a specific question enabling the entire expert community to respond to any question at any. 6

Knowledge Center Professional Ask Expert / Answer Question Release 11.1, ESP1 The following features are included in release 11.1, ESP 1 (version 11.1.0.1). Import Third Party SCORM Content UPK Knowledge Center 11.1.0.1 introduces support for importing content created in other content development tools. Using the industry standard SCORM 2004 specifications, Knowledge Center enables organizations to leverage content created outside of UPK Developer and as well as Knowledge Center s ability to track and report on the usage of that content. UPK Player on ipad In support of the ever increasingly mobile workforce, UPK 11.1.0.1 extends UPK Player support to the Apple ipad. Optimized to support ios interactions, users can access content on the go in See It!, Try It! and Print outputs options. This first phase support for mobile technologies leverages UPK s existing Player architecture to support the growing audience of mobile device users in today s enterprise. 7
