Technical update 2 Initial commissioning Section 7.2 Initial commissioning When starting up your CPU 1515SP PC for the first time, basic settings, user name, administrator password and IP address are queried. Following this, the operating system that is preinstalled on the CFast card is set up automatically on your device. User name, computer name, password If you enter a "user name", the "computer name" is supplemented with "-PC". The computer name can consist of maximum 15 characters. Note The user has administrator rights! For security reasons, enter a password for this user. IP address The IP address (192.168.1.1) and the subnet mask (255.255.255.0) are preset. Use the buttons to apply your changes or retain the presettings. User "Operator" There is already a user "Operator" on the Windows system with standard user privileges. The user is in the user group "SIEMENS TIA Engineer". With this, the user has the rights to use the installed SIMATIC software products. So that the user can operate the CPU 1515SP PC directly, the Windows function "Autologon" is activated for "Operator". No password is preset. The following language packages are on the Restore DVD under \Packages\x64\LanguagePack: Chinese German English French Italian Russian Spanish Installing languages Use the Windows function "Start > Control Panel > Region and Language" to install a language package. Technical update Using the keyboard and mouse during device startup Section 3.5 Operator controls and display elements Section 7.5 Switching on/off the CPU 1515SP PC Section 8.3.5 BIOS update Section 9.5 Updating software NOTICE Software controller malfunctions resulting from critical actions If the software controller CPU 1505S is started and the mode selector is held in the MRES setting at startup, malfunctions of the software controller might result, e.g. communication terminations and failures. Start the software controller CPU 1505S only if the mode selector is in RUN/STOP. When the mode selector is in the MRES position, the mouse and keyboard are active during startup. In this case, start the CPU 1515SP PC only in Windows mode. You need the keyboard and mouse at startup to: Open the BIOS setup menu with <F2>. Start the boot manager with <F12> in order to restore the original software (Restore). Start the CPU 1515SP PC in Windows mode. Operate the SIMATIC IPC software. Example: Starting the boot manager 1. Hold the mode selector pressed in the MRES position. 2. Switch on the power supply of the CPU. The PWR LED lights up yellow. 3. Press the <F12> key multiple times in short intervals. Technical update Example: Starting the CPU 1515SP PC in Windows mode 1. Hold the mode selector pressed in the MRES position. 2. Switch on the power supply of the CPU. The PWR LED lights up yellow. 3. Release the mode selector as soon as the PWR-LED turns green. The mode selector is in STOP mode. The boot manager GRUB4DOS starts. 4. Use the cursor key [ ] to select "Windows" within 5 seconds. The operating system starts without the software controller. When you turn on the CPU 1515SP PC again, it restarts with the software controller (default setting). It is possible to set the operation of keyboard and mouse in Windows independently of the mode selector position. X2 PN/IE (LAN) interface Section 5.4 Connecting devices to networks Only ASCII characters are permitted in the name of the interface X2 PN/IE (LAN) in the TIA Portal, e.g. PROFINET_2.
