Hardware Installation 1. Turn off the printer s power. 2. Connect the print server to your printer. 3. Plug the AC power adapter into the power connector on the backside of the wireless print server. Note: When the print server is powered on, the status indicator should flash 5 times. If not, please contact your dealer for a repair or replacement. 4. Turn the printer s power on. 5. Done. Software Installation If you have an Access Point or Access Point Router in your network, you should use Normal mode. Please refer to the following steps, If you do not an Access Point or Access Point Router in your network, or the print server cannot be found in Normal Mode, please refer to page 13. 1. Make sure the DIP switch is in normal mode. 2. Check TCP/IP protocol is installed on your computer and you have assigned an IP address to your wireless adapter. For example: 192.168.1.100. 3. Insert the driver CD into your CD-ROM. 4. The autorun program starts and the following message appears. 3
5. Choose Setup Wizard, the program will auto install the Network Print Monitor, PSAdmin and Setup Wizard into your computer. 6. After installation completes, the Setup Wizard message appears. 4
7. Click Wireless Setup Wizard and the following message appears. 8. Click NEXT, the wizard will automatically discover the wireless print server. If it cannot be found, try to rescan. If it still can t be found, please use the DIAG mode and refer to page 13. 5
9. Select the print server, which you want to configure and press NEXT. 10. Select YES if you want to change the configuration and press NEXT then the picture appears. Communication Type: please choose Infrastructure, Ad-hoc or 802.11b Ad-hoc that meet your network environment. Note: Ad-hoc mode is only for Intersil Prism 2.0 Adapters. 6
Most adapters are compatible with 802.11b Ad-hoc mode. SSID:Input the proper SSID of your wireless network. The default value is <any> and it will connect with the AP which has the best signal in your wireless network. Channel: optional. Data Transmit Rates: Auto or 1,2Mbps, 5.5Mbps or 11Mbps. Click NEXT. 11. Choose Enable the WEP Encryption as you need, and click NEXT. The default value is Disable. 12. Specify a fixed IP address or use dynamic IP address, then click NEXT. 7
Note: The IP address of wireless print server must be in the same subnet with your wireless adapter and an fixed IP address is highly recommend. 13. In this page, you can confirm your setting value again. Click NEXT. 14. Done. 8
Printer Installation 1. click the Network Print Server Setup Wizard and the following picture appears. 2. Click Next and the program will discover your wireless print server. 9
3. Select the print server which you want to configure and press NEXT. 4. Click Next and choose the printer you want to install. You can also add a new printer in this step. 10
5. Click Next and setup program will display the summary of your printer s configuration. 11
6. Click Finish. 7. Congratulations! Now you can print with your wireless print server. 12
If you don t have an Access Point in your network or the print server cannot be discovered in Infrastructure Mode, please refer to the following steps, 1. Switch the DIP switch to DIAG mode. 2. Check TCP/IP protocol is installed on your computer and you have assigned an IP address to your wireless adapter. For example: 192.168.1.100. 3. Run the utility of your wireless adapter and change it to Ad-hoc or PEER-TO-PEER mode. 4. Set the SSID to WLAN-PS and channel to 6., WEP is disable. 5. After the wireless connection established, insert the CD into your CD-ROM. 6. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard and refer to the software installation step2 to 14 to configure your wireless printer to meet your wireless network environment. 7. Switch the DIP back to NOR mode and adjust your wireless adapter configuration. 8. Run Network Print Server Wizard and refer to the printer installation step 1 to 7. 9. Done. 13
