Part II General Requirements (3) (fill in your objective, high level purchase requirement and implementation plan) The School will renovate the Multipurpose Room (2/F) and the Staff room (3/F) in December 2014 and July 2015 respectively. Learning activities and school functions will be conducted in the Multipurpose Room. For the new Staff Room, all the teaching staff will BYOD. Meanwhile, public computers will still be provided for public use. Network devices such as network printers, network copiers and TV box will be connected to the School network. Individual wired internet node/port should be provided so as to support BYOD and enhance working efficiency and effectiveness. In addition, the new network devices (switches) and cables should be able to sustain the technical / technological advancement into next 6 to 7 years. The School will replace the existing hardware according to its schedule. The Contractor should assist the School to re-install the existing APs in the Multipurpose Room and Staff Room and conduct function test to test and report the functionality. Successful Contractor will be requested and arranged to have discussion about the network trunking arrangement which are provided by the Government with all parties shortly after confirmation. Therefore 1. We invite contractors to submit proposals for purchase of switch and cabling service in our School. 2. All the requirements stated in Part III and Part IV of this document. 3. The proposed solution is required to operate 7x24 round the clock. 4. Details should be spelt out under hardware and software specifications in Part III Equipment Requirements below where appropriate. Part III - Equipment Requirements A. Add-on Hardware The Contractor should note that the Unit Net Purchase Price of each proposed hardware equipment includes delivery and basic installation. Should additional services including those specified in this Requirement Specifications be required, please itemise the costs. 1. Switch 1.1 Physical requirements Shall have at least 24/48 FastEthernet ports and 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports Shall be mountable on a standard EIA 19 rack and come with appropriate mounting kit Shall provide at least 15 ports (Multipurpose Room) Shall be modular and allow incremental expansion to up to at least 80 ports (Staff Room) Shall support hot-swapping of a module without affecting the operation of other modules 1.2 Management requirements Shall have both command line and Web-interfaces for configuration Shall allow remote management via SSH and HTTPS Shall support SNMP-based network management Shall support system software upgrade by uploading new version of software to the LAN switch over network 1.3 Security requirement Shall support multiple levels of user access control Password shall be stored in encrypted format and cannot be displayed as plain-text Shall support automatic time-out of the console or Telnet session or HTTPS after a period of inactivity Shall be able to provide port mirroring for traffic analysis 1.4 Protocol requirement Shall support at least 1000 VLANs Shall allow VLAN assignment based on switch port number Shall allow VLAN(s) spanning across multiple LAN switches with IEEE 802.1Q trunking Shall be able to select specific network traffic and prioritize it according to its relative importance Shall support IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation Shall support Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) / Rapid STP (IEEE 802.1d) Shall support IP Multicast and IGMP for IP multicast traffic Acquisition Procedures For Network Products, Server Systems & Page 3 of 6

Add-on Software The Contractor should note that the Unit Net Licence Fee of each proposed software items includes delivery and installation. Should additional services including those specified in this Requirement Specifications be required, please itemise the costs. Other Requirements (4) (fill in the requirements other than the product specifications) Technical Specification The contractor should include technical specifications for all proposed products in the acquisition proposal. Installation Test The contractor shall provide details of the installation tests to ensure that all the hardware and software items are correctly installed. Cabling Work The LAN cables should be of CAT6 standard. The Contractor should submit product information including technical and descriptive literature and catalogues. Information provided by the manufacturer shall be able to substantiate that the products offered meet the mandatory Technical Specification. (4) Note : Other requirements such as quality, site preparation, delivery/installation (e.g. "cable labeling", "provision of LAN cables", "cable management"), acceptance, maintenance, upgrade, performance criteria, reliability specifications, documentation, etc. should be included, where appropriate, to formulate the entire purchase requirement. D. Maintenance Requirement (fill in the maintenance requirements, such as M1, M2, or M3 scheme for hardware and L0, L1, L2 or L3 scheme for software.. Part IV - Service Requirements Support Service (fill in the requirements for the required support service) 1. Part VI Price Validity Please confirm that the offered prices will remain valid for a period of 90 days from the quotation closing day. Part VII Basis of Acceptance Offer will be considered on an *overall / group / itemised basis. (In the case where the offer is considered on an overall basis, partial/incomplete offer will be rejected. In the case where the offer is considered on a group basis, partial/incomplete offer in a particular group will be rejected.) The price evaluation will be based on the *one-off cost / total 5-year cost (i.e. the one-off cost plus any subsequent recurrent charges (i.e. maintenance charges / periodic licence fee) over the specified period). The lowest bid offer that fully meets all the requirements as specified in this Requirement Specifications document will be accepted. Part X Payment The School will settle the payment in accordance with the following schedule.
