Each member is to provide his own cables. Berytech is also providing UPS, power, earth, AC split, and glass window cover. The location will be ready Friday 30 November. The traffic will start flowing through the IXP on 5 December. All meetings to be held at Berytech Cisco will provide 2 substitute switches and 2 366X routers. One for the IXP and one for Sodetel who has ordered but not yet received its router. Date: 11 October 2007

Cisco will be donating the IXP equipment to PCA who will put it to the benefit of the Beirut IX exchange. Every member chooses the most cost effective mean to reach the location in order to keep a viable business model, given SMTP1 or above capacities are used. - Governance: PCA will play the role of neutral arbitrator. Adopt the light model advocated by Bill Woodcock and to draft a governance document not longer that one page. - Site: Opt (unanimously) for Berytech I (Mar Roukoz) as the location for the Beirut IXP. Negotiations with Maroun Chammas will start immediately. - Cost: Every IXP member shall incur the following costs: data transmission, rent, and equipment (router). The governance model advocates no common costs between members. Cost transmission at 150MBPS and 300MBPS. The members settled for the 3560E switch.

- Equipment Donation: Gaby Deek will consider accepting the donation given that a clear MOU is signed with Cisco detailing each party s role and responsibilities. Approach PCA to accept the equipment donated by Cisco. Hadi to finalize the itemized equipment list for processing by Cisco. - Rental agreement: Approach the landlord as a group, however, each ISP will sign its own contract. Require landlord to provide around 50 square meters of clean, powered, and air conditioned common area in addition to access to the roof. All IXP members to rent around 3 square meters each in that common area. - Site: delegation headed by Daniel will perform site visits Monday 2 July at 9am on five potential locations: Bourj Karam, Gefinor, Solidere, Diyar Building (Karakon Druz), and Murex Building (Mina el Hosn). - Membership: To request a technical person to represent MOSCANET/PESCO as part of the IXP members Attendees opted for the 3560E-48TD-S switch. Cisco to donate 2 switches, 2 RPS, and 2 UPS. - Connectivity: Decision to settle for a 2 hop location. Tilal Achrafieh and Bourj El Barajneh tower both unfit to be IX locations because they are luxurious residential buildings. - Agreement with landlord: Points prepared by Bill will be translated by the legal entity of GDS, and used to interview potential landlords interested in hosting the IXP.
