History of the Examination First exams held Nov. 17, 1969: 2 Categories 42,022 took the exams Current exams (original estimate = 5,000) 570,000/Year apply for the examination. The total number of applicants have exceeded 16.9 million, and around2.1 million have been certified till spring 2012.
