Why use Ethernet over Coax with WiFi? 2017, TRIAX A/S 3
WiFi coverage Creating good enough WiFi coverage is one of the largest issues facing hospitality business Customers demand not just ok WiFi, but great WiFi. *Source: Zyxel Hospitality report march 2016 2017, TRIAX A/S 4
Reuse existing infrastructure The existing infrastructure normally has no ethernet cables or fibre to where the WiFi is needed ~ In the room Standard Access Point, on Cat5 installation 2017, TRIAX A/S 5

What is Ethernet over Coax with WiFi? 2017, TRIAX A/S 7
Ethernet over Coax with WiFi = WiFi coverage by re-using existing coaxial installation endpoint Controller Return path filter

Controller installation The local network expert can set up all software in the controller. Both before the controller is mounted or after via Cloud. Configuration groups can be set to allow the configuration of endpoints with identical configuration. This allows for faster endpoint configuration later on. Controller can be mounted: On table Rack-mount (brackets included) Wall-mount (brackets included) 2017, TRIAX A/S 10
Easy endpoint installation 1. Easy to mount backplate. 2. Separate inner box for easy installation of cables. 3. QR code for adding the endpoint to the system. 4. Neutral front plate to hide away LEDs and cabling, to avoid annoying the hotel guest.
The technology behind TRIAX EoC is based on G.hn wave 2 technology No bottlenecks in your network -> High bandwidth 1,600 mbps per coax cable. Bandwidth: Max upload: 1,000 mbps Max download: 1,000 mbps Max shared: 1,600 mbps 16 endpoints per output on the controller (2 can be joined for 32 endpoints) Can be used for video conferencing or gaming -> Low latency ~ 1ms Avoid conflicts with normal TV frequencies: frequency range 2-200 MHz: 8 MHz MUX 302+ DVB-T: 470+ Std. LNB: 950-2,150 Full band LNB: 300-2,350 Layer 2 error correction + Layer 2 isolation : very stable and very secure
Professional WiFi Newest standard WiFi (802.11 AC wave 2) Dual radio 2.4 / 5.0 GHz (more non-overlapping channels on 5.0 GHz) Separate your network (VLAN tagging same infrastructure different networks) Router Band steering? 5.0 GHz Green= Private VLAN Red = Public VLAN 2.4 GHz
Unique selling points 2017, TRIAX A/S 14
Why should a hotel choose WiFi through Ethernet over Coax? Increased sales & happy guests Good WiFi coverage means happy guests who give good reviews so that more guests come and old ones return. The hotel can choose to upsell premium WiFi with the TRIAX In Touch Internet Management module Save costs Reuse coax cables and save money on installation costs ~ estimated saving up to 30% compared to new ethernet cabling No license fees on hardware Makes the network ready for IPTV Both WLAN and LAN available in the room (usable with Smart TV) Save time Easy installation of hardware, therefore no need for downtime in the hotel rooms (15 minutes to install end-point) The hotel needs only one installer to service and maintain both coax and WiFi network 2017, TRIAX A/S 15
Why should an installer or an integrator recommend WiFi through Ethernet over Coax? Increased sales & happy hotels Install WiFi using existing knowledge from coax networks Create service agreements with the hotel Differentiate through a full solution Flexible and reliable network Co-existence of TV and Internet signal Built-in layer 2 error correction Low latency Everything tested, supported under same warranty Save time Easy installation of hardware Easy configuration of software Increase number of installations per day One stop shopping for all your TV and Internet infrastructure needs 2017, TRIAX A/S 16
Ethernet over Coax with WiFi a part of a bigger picture 2017, TRIAX A/S 17
TRIAX delivers a complete solution With EoC with WiFi TRIAX is delivering the infrastructure to bring WiFi to the guests. In Touch can be used for controlling which guests logs on the WiFi. In Touch is also the solution to show any message to the hotel guest on any touchpoint. This can be combined with TRIAX headends for TV signal processing. 2017, TRIAX A/S 18
Conclusion: Why EoC? For the installer Use existing coax knowledge to enter new business areas A step towards becoming a solution provider Ensure your own business proactively with service contracts For the hotel Live up to guest expectations and offer professional WiFi Avoid installation of new cabling and downtime of rooms No need to alter channel positions (TV & WiFi co-exist) For the hotel manager Easy installation of hardware Easy configuration of software Only one installer needed to administer and service both coax and WiFi infrastructure 2017, TRIAX A/S

The hotel installation with TDX, In Touch and EoC TDX TDX provides TV signal processing. Amplifier In Touch provides login for users. TV signal EoC provides the infrastructure for WiFi ISP modem Cloud core router for In Touch Customer login through TRIAX In Touch Local Access 2017, TRIAX A/S 23
The hotel installation will look like this with EoC only The solution provides: WiFi infrastructure with a simple or no login (same login method and password for all users) Amplifier TV signal TV signal 2017, TRIAX A/S 24
The housing association installation could look like this NB! Only a passive multiswitch can be used for this setup. Controller is placed before multiswitch and the EoC out (combined terrestrial TV signal and internet) is inserted into the terrestrial input on the multiswitch. Apartment SAT out with 950-2,250 MHz HDMI Each endpoint should be set up individual to provide individual WiFi in each apartment. TV out with 300-862 MHz Note that the Internet connection is shared by all apartments. Note that the frequencies depend on both the multiswitch and the outlets. TMS 908 SE P-EU Frequency range SAT 950-2,400 MHz Frequency range TER 5-862 MHz Tou-01s R/TV/SAT TV out with 5-74 + 120-862 MHz 2017, TRIAX A/S 25
EoC used for IP TV cameras (and WiFi) The solution provides: Ethernet towards IP cameras based on the coax cables. Note that this specific example uses a coax cable on the first stretch and then ethernet towards several cameras through a PoE switch. Another solution could be to have one camera on each endpoint. This depends on infrastructure. NVR - 16 Channel IP digital recorder The IP TV feeds is terminated in a network video recorder. If WiFi is used, the logon will be a simple or no login (same login method and password for all users) 24 port PoE edgeswitch TDV 4IP 4MP IPCam3.3-10.5VFPoE 2017, TRIAX A/S 26
