Safety Instructions For your protection, please read these safety instructions and the manual completely before operating the machine and keep this manual for future reference close to the machine. Carefully observe all warnings, precautions and instructions on the machine or the ones described in the operating instructions. In order to guarantee hazard-free operations it is strongly recommended that any maintenance or repair work is only carried out by trained personnel. - Symbolss - WARNING: Ignoring this warning could cause serious injury or even death. CAUTION: Ignoring this warning could cause injury or damage to property. NOTE: Indicates additional important information. - General - WARNING: Stop using the machine if a cover was damaged or the machine was dropped. Immediately turn off the power switch and disconnect the supply line. Then call an authorized service partner. CAUTION: Switch the machine off before opening any cover. Alwayss use materials recommendedd for the respective machine. Materials not approved can cause faults in your machine. Do not use the machine when it is emitting unusual sounds. Immediately turn off the power switch and disconnect the supply line. Then call a authorized service partner. - Moving the machine - WARNING: Move the machine carefully and slowly using two persons. Make sure that you disconnected the power cord and other cables before you move the machine. NOTE: Check the documentation for the space requirements before you move the machine. WARNING: - Installation - Make sure that the machine is placed on a level, horizontal surface of sufficient strength. Do not place this machine on an unstable or tilted bench. Set the adjustable feet on the ground when the machine is in the desired position.
NOTE: Do not place this machine in a location that is subject to vibrations and shocks. - Maintenance and modifications - WARNING: Do not remove covers or panels which aree fixed to the machine. The machine contains moving part which could cause serious injury. Do not modify the machine, because this could cause electrical shock or fire. To avoid any risk, only properly qualified and trained servicee technicians are allowed to modify the machine. CAUTION: Do not carry out maintenancee activities for other machine components or with other materials than mentioned in the user manual. Use maintenance materials for their intended purpose only. Do not place liquids on the machine. - Power supply - WARNING: This machine is not designed for connection to an IT power supply system. An IT power system is a voltage network in which the neutral wire is not connected to ground. Only connect the power cord to a wall sockett that is equipped with a grounding terminal. Only use the mains connector cable that was supplied with the machine. Do not use a damaged power cord (e.g. exposed core wire, broken wire), this could lead into a fire. Do not use an extension lead to connect the machine. CAUTION: Do not connect the machine to a mains voltage that differs from the value stated on the power marking label. NOTE: If connection to a different mains voltage is required, contact your authorized service partner. - Electricals - WARNING: Do not break any mechanical security interlock switch.
Set Up Installation The folder should be set up by an engineer, who has been trained. Environment The room in which the folder is to be placed should be dry and dust free. Humidity should be about 20-80% with room temperature of 15 C to 35 C (59-95 F). The folder must stand horizontally aligned and very stable without shaking. Make sure that the folder to place the folder in a way that does not block exits and allows an ergonomic workflow.
Power & Switch On Please use only the connecting cable delivered with the folder. Make sure that the mains supply voltage is identical with your supply. Do not use multi plug extension cords! These cords will not stand thee power consumption of a printer and the folder. The power supply connection is at the right bottom side of the folder. The main switch is at the folder s front side. The display shows a short message as indicated. The Firmware versions are briefly shown in the display. When the folderr has completely started a double beep signal will sound. At the same instance, you will notice the green LED on top of the display illuminate. You will see the folding program last used displayed. In case an errorr is detected during the self test phase, a message will be shown in the display. The message contains error and localization code. Furthermore, a red LED on top of the display will be blinking. Refer to the. After clearing the jam press button in order to restart the folder. There are three LEDs on top of the folder's display: The green LED indicates the folder being ready for safe and normal operation. The red LED is blinking in case of any error. The yellow LED indicates that the folder is busy folding.

Media & Formats Fan Folder All documents with length from 420 mmm up to 28 folds (20# / 80 gr. Paper) and width up to max. 930 mm. Longer copies will be folded in segments of 28 folds, to be finished manually. Cross Fold All fan-folded sheets until a length of 1200mm can be folded as cross fold. Recommendedd media Best performance with 20# or 75-90 gr/m² NOTE: Films, plastics or materials with glossy / shiny surfaces are not suitable.
Programs There are 8 folding programs available. Through the keys and you select the desired folding program. The selected program number will appear on the left hand side of thee display. The center of the display shows an image of the selected fold style. In Order to change the status of the cross folder or the rotation unit press the cursor will start to blink. Buttons and move the cursor from icon to icon. Selected icons blink frequently. Pressing buttons and edit the blinking setting. Press again within three seconds to save the changes All folding programs can be edited in increments of 1mm within the following range: binding margin: 0-50 mm panel width: 160-210 mmm Press the cursor will start to blink. Example: Program 1 should process packages 185 mm wide withh a filing margin of 25 mm. With buttons change the value to 25 mm Press button within three seconds in order to store the new values Please notice that the adjustable width of the package must be at least 160 mm up to a maximumm of 230 mm. The range of adjustment of the margin is 0-50 mm. Therefore a packagee of 155/65 is not adjustable. Change the crosss fold length from 200mm to 420mm. Press or to change the value Press

Free Style Programs A, B, C & D This new innovation i opens the potential of the folder to nearly all possible folding styles, since you can define every layer completely free. This program will not calculate the folding, thatt means: you define a program for a given paper size, so this program will not work for another format. Explanation of signs and numbers in the display: "100 to 420" means: two full panel of the indicated size are folded. "-" means: the folding ends here the last page is to the right upper r exit "<" means: one more fold the last page is to the left lower exit In Order to change values press - the cursor will start to blink. Pressing buttons the blinking settings. and edit Example Program A should process packages of 135 mm and 180mm wide the rest of paper will determine a filing margin of 30 mm (for A1 sized paper). Select folding program A with button or Press button Press button until the first number beside the fold package icon blinks. Press buttons or in order to set the package width to 135 mm. Feeding Prints Thee recommended position is right from the table, feeding the prints with the left hand. Place the left hand near to the rail guide and feed the print into the folder, force it also slightly to the rail guide. Long, small prints need to be guidedd up to the trailing edge. In any case the title block (legend) has to be on the leading edge of the document entering the folder (on the right hand side of the leading edge). Thee fan folded copy must be turned by 90 and thenn fed into the folder again. Thee folder will automatically switch to cross fold. It improves the folding quality if the copy is flattened by hand before the cross fold. Folded copies willl be laid out in the basket.
