Requirements Files IMMDongleGenerator.exe (the core software) HClassAboutBox.dll v1.00.00.00 or greater IPAddressControlLib.dll v1.00.00.00 or greater System Microsoft Windows 2000/XP or greater Microsoft.Net Framework 2.0 Installation Verify the system requirements Copy all the required files in a dedicated directory ( C:\Program Files\Harris\DongleGenerator\ for instance) Memo Application overview The IMMDongleGeneratorLight can be used by Harris support service during setup period or by pre-sales for demo. It creates IMM dongles valid for a maximum of 3 months. After this delay, the target application won t start. When the setup has been tested and validated, this temporary dongle must be sent to the IMM team to remove the 3 months limit with the IMMDongleGenerator. This is for security reasons. The tool used to make the definitive dongles must not be used outside Harris office. Tutorial The goal of this tutorial is to help you to quickly create your first IMM dongle. Our sample is an IMM Dongle for ContentHandler limited to one IP Address, running only one instance of the Profile plug-in. First time update The first time you use IMMDongleGeneratorLight, you must run an Update to download the current list of applications and components. Page 2
Click the Update button. Note that you must be connected to the Internet to be able to run an update. Page 3
Start Page (Wizard) If the update is successful, rest of the start page is enabled. Select the Create a new dongle radio button, Then choose ContentHandler from the target application combo box. Click the Start button to start editing your new dongle. Page 4
Dongle editor 1. Fill the about string to describe your dongle. 2. Select an expiration date (maximum 3 month from now) 3. Check the Limit to specified IP addresses item Page 5
4. Type an IP address in the bottom-right text box, and click Add to add it to the list. 5. Check the Define limit per component item 6. Select any library in the Products or Customs lists. a. You can read its release note: click the Release Note button to download and open the release note of the selected library. b. You can download the library package: click the Download file button. c. You have a quick view of the components present inside the library. Page 6
7. Check the hasplugingwgvgprofile02.dll library 8. Then check the Instance count check box Page 7
Note that some libraries may be already checked. These are free libraries that are needed most of the time. You can uncheck them if you don t use them. 9. Save your dongle: Menu File Save or File Save As Page 8
Optional: Download all packages associated with the dongle In the menu Download Download Manager you can download any package related to the target application. Page 9
To download packages related to the dongle you previously created, follow these simple steps: 1. Click Auto select from Dongle. Related packages are checked automatically. 2. Click Download, and then choose a destination directory for downloaded packages. By default it s your dongle directory. Page 10
