Front End Management 1. To add a document to your website, go to http://www.missouri-accountants.com/ and log in with the username and the password you specified during the installation. Quick Start Guide 14 2. To get to the User Menu for front end editing go to http://www.missouri-accountants.com/msa-front-endediting. 3. A group of all the articles can be found by navigating to the appropriate Section through the User Menu. The User Menu shows up on the home page after logging in the bottom left corner. Page 2 of 25
a. Your Details allows the user to edit their information. b. MSA Articles are all the articles in the MSA Section. Clicking on this will allow the user to edit Articles in the MSA section. (This step can be repeated for Leadership Articles, Members Only Articles, Membership Articles, Newsflash Articles and Seminar Articles ) Page 3 of 25
4. After clicking on the appropriate section (ex. MSA Articles ), a list of categories will be displayed. (ex. Static Content ) 5. If adding a new article, then click on the New link. If editing an article, skip to step 7. Page 4 of 25
6. Next follow the steps for the back end management to create the new article starting with step 4. 7. After clicking on the appropriate category (ex. Static Content ), a list of all the articles in the section and category are displayed. 8. In order to edit an article click on the pencil and paper icon next to the article. (ex. About MSA ) Page 5 of 25
9. This is the article screen. There are several different things that can be done here: Page 6 of 25
a. The large box is where the article s content should be added. There are several additional things that can be used to enhance the article s content. i. The Page Break button can be used to divide the article into several pages. ii. The Read More button is used to divide the article into two sections. First is the summary view. Second is the full view. (Incarnate-Word uses this functionality for the Ministry Q&A Read More.) Typically the full view includes the content from the summary view along with additional information. iii. Images can be added to articles using the Image button. The images can either be uploaded to Joomla s Media Manager from this prompt or through the Media Manager. 1. Uploading Images a. Upload Images to Media Manager if images aren t already stored there. i. Click on the Browse Files button to find the file name of the image you would like. Page 7 of 25
ii. The below popup box should appear so you can find the image you would like. Click once on the file name and then click Open. iii. Click on the Start Upload button. Page 8 of 25
iv. After the image has been uploaded successfully, Uploading Completed should be displayed. v. The image should then be displayed with the other images and can be clicked on to allow it to be added to the article. Image URL displays the actual Joomla location of a particular image. Page 9 of 25
b. Insert Images into Article i. Click on the image desired to be added to the article. Image URL displays the actual Joomla location of a particular image. ii. Click on the Insert button. iii. An image inserted into an article will appear like the example below. If the image is not displayed centered, then click on the image and then click on the center icon. Page 10 of 25
iv. Links to PDF s can be added to articles content using the Doclink button 1. Click on the Category that the document is located in. 2. Find the file name of the document you want to insert. (ex: Your Contact Us Document) Page 11 of 25
3. The Caption field is the text that will be displayed on the website as the link to the document. 4. Click on OK when the appropriate document has been selected and the Caption has been added. Page 12 of 25
5. After a Doclink document link has been inserted into an article, it will appear like the example below. 10. When the content of the article is complete, click Save. 11. Back End Management There are three Back End User Groups available a Manager, Administrator and Super Administrator. As administration User Groups they have the access permission to log in to the web site as well as to the Administrator Back End - via a separate log in process. They can view all Content that is Classified as Registered Access, Public Access, as well as Special Access. 1. To add an article to your website, go to www.missouri-accountants.com/administrator and log in with the username and the password you specified during the installation. 2. After the websites Sections and Categories are created you are ready to begin managing Articles. Click on Article Manager. There are two possible ways to get to the Article Manager. Page 15 of 25
3. Article Creation / Modification a. If you would like to create a new article, then click on New b. To Modify an existing article: i. Click on the articles title. ii. Click on the Checkbox for that article and click on Edit. Page 16 of 25
4. This is the article screen. There are several different things that can be done here: a. Add a title for the article (ex. Contact Us). b. Click on the Section and Category for the article (ex. Website Pages & Static). c. Publish or Not Publish your article. In order for the article to show up on the website, it must be published. d. Whether or not to display the article as part of the front page. e. The large box is where the article s content should be added.
