SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE Marsis DB Manager Marsis Scheduler SDI OUT Marsis Connector Marsis Gateway Server IP OUT Marsis Database Windows Client Web Client Marsis DB Manager : The service that manage DB processes. Marsis Connector : The service that manage background operations. (Directory,File Checking etc.) Marsis Database : System database.(mysql) Marsis Gateway : The gateway service between all Marsis applications. Server: Multi-Channel, multi-format playout server. Supports SDI / IP Output and Inputs Marsis Windows Client : Desktop interface to control Servers. Marsis Web Client : Web interface to control Servers. Marsis Scheduler : The application to create playlist for playout servers. 3

MARSIS MANAGEMENT TOOL Marsis Management tool for checking Service and Application Servers status on the server. You can also Start/Stop Services and Application Servers on the system. Marsis Control Management 1- Please double click on the Marsis Control Management Tool icon on your desktop to run it. 2- You can Start/Stop Marsis Gateway, DB Manager, Connector services in the General tab. Once service starts service name becomes green. 4

MARSIS MANAGEMENT TOOL 3- You can Start/Stop Servers in the Playout Server tab. Once Playout Server starts, service name becomes green. 5

DESKTOP CLIENT Client 1- Please double click on the Client icon on your desktop to run it. 2- Please enter your username and password then hit enter or click Login button. 3- Once you logged in to the system you will see the available playout servers that assigned on your user. 4- Double click on the server that you want to connect or select server then click Connect 6

MENU FILE New Playlist: Closes a current playlist and open a new one. Load Playlist: Opens a saved playlist. Save Playlist: Save current playlist. If your playlist is already saved, last changes will be over written on your current playlist. Save Playlist As: Save current playlist with a different name. Exit: Closes the application. EDIT Cut: Cuts the selected item in the playlist. Copy: Copy the selected item the playlist. Paste: Paste the cut or copied item in the playlist. Add: Add an item that you select in the list to end of the playlist. Insert: Insert an item that you select in the list to above of selected item in the playlist. Delete: Delete selected item in the playlist Select All: Select all items in the playlist. Deselect: Make unselected all items which are already selected. Invert Selection: Invert selected items with the un selected ones. Check: Refresh Media directories and 8

MENU SETTINGS OUTPUT SETTINGS Device: You can select your output card. Line: Sets output line of selected card. (SDI,Component,Composit etc.) Background: Default output background. Resolution: Output resolution. Audio: Audio output channels. Audio Channels: Enable or disable selected audio channels. Keep Aspect Ratio: Enable or disable original aspect ratio. 10

MENU SETTINGS INPUT SETTINGS Adding Preset 1- Click Add button. 2- Enter Preset Name 3- Select Source Type Video Source: 1- Select Video Source from Source Type 2- Select Input device from Video Device 3- Select Line 4- Select incoming video source from Resolution 5- Select Audio Device from Audio Device (If you use SDI please select From Video ) 6- Select Audio Line from Audio Line 7- Select Audio Format from Audio Format 8- Click save button to save your preset 9- Test your preset by clicking Preview button at the right side. 10- You can change audio level and set as your input level. IP Source: 1- Select IP source from Source Type 2- Type your source IP into IP section. 3- Test your preset by clicking Preview button at the right side. 11

MENU SETTINGS INPUT SETTINGS Editing Preset 1- Select the preset that you want to edit. 2- Click Edit button to enable changes. 3- Make changes. 4- Click Save to apply the changes. If you want to cancel changes click Cancel button. 5- Test your preset by clicking Preview button at the right side. Note: Once you create your presets. You will be able to add your Live source as a playlist item in your playlist. 12

MENU DIRECTORIES Setting Directory: 1- Click Browse button. 2- Select your video directory then click Select (You can select multiple folder) 3- Click Apply to set media directories. 4- You can add or delete multiple directories by clicking + or - buttons next to Browse button. 13

MENU PLAYLIST 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1- Keeps current playing media in the playlist always highlighted. 2- Load last playing playlist when playout starts. 3- Save playlist changes every minute. 4- Default playlist directory which will be shown in the Media explorer when playout starts. 5- Enable /Disable daily playlist mode. If you enable daily playlist mode, playout server will automatically load and play next available daily playlists one by one by their start dates. 6- Daily playlist loading modes. Run immediately: Loads and play first item of daily playlist immediately. Wait until last media end: Load daily playlist and wait for the last playing item of previous playlist. Once it s done system automatically switch to first item of just loaded daily playlist. 7- You can manage your playlist categories here. Once you create a category here, you can use that category for any of your playlist item. 14

MENU CG You can trigger your CG server by enabling CG Automation. First you need to assign a CG server for your playout. 1- Go to Utility interface and login with your admin user. 2- Goto Servers Tab and select your playout that you want to assign CG server in the list. 3- Go to Backup & Triggering Tab at the right side. 4- Select the CG Server that you want to trigger in the CG Server list. 5- Click Apply 6- Once you add CG server, you will be able to see the CG projects in the CG Automation page. 15

MENU CG Page1 Music Logo Music Logo Test1 00:00:03 (Show) -00:00:20 (Hide) 1-Enable CG Automation for triggering your CG items automatically by the preset you create here. Adding Preset: Example: For example, you want to play your Music Logo object in your Test1 CG project for any item in your playlist with the category music. In this scenario, your playout automation will be checking each item s category and will be triggering your Music Logo object from your CG server automatically. If the category is not music. Playout automation is not going to play CG object. 1- Click Add button to create new rule. 2- Type a Preset name into Preset Name 3- IF Category 4- Contains or equals to: 5- Value = music 6- Select your project in the PROJECT Section 7- Type: Load (This will close current open project in CG server and load your project) 8- Select the page where your Music Logo object located in your CG project from the PAGES section 9- Select Music Logo object in your ITEM section and click Add 10- Your Music Logo object will be added into the SELECTED list. 11- Select your Music Logo object in the SELECTED list and set a start timecode. 12- To setting a start time; Select Show in the POSITIONS section, enter start timecode and click + button. You will see the start timecode in the POSITIONS list. 13- If you want to hide your Music Logo at a desired timecode, just and one more timecode by selecting Hide radio button and add time code with + button. You can add multiple timecode. 14- Once you Save your preset, the playout will be playing your Music Logo by the conditions that you created. 16

Export Report: 1- Select the headers that you want to see in your report. 2- Enter report start date and time 3- Enter report end date and time 4- Select your delimeter 5- Click export and save your report on to your computer. 17

INTERFACE MEDIA EXPLORER 1 2 7 3 4 You can simply view all media directories in Media explorer and add them into the playlist by drag and drop easily. 1- Directory list (You can manage your directories in the settings menu) 2- Shows all media files in the selected directory. 3- Insertion Mode: Add: Adds selected item(s) end of the playlist Insert: Insert selected item(s) in between the items where you drop. 4- View Mode: You can change view of media list. (List,Tile,Small Icon) 22

INTERFACE PLAYLIST SETTINGS Daily Playlist 1 2 3 4 has built-in automation. If you enable daily playlist mode in the settings and save your playlist as a daily. System load and play your daily playlist at their start time automatically. 1-Daily playlists will be shown in the list by their auto start date/time. It will be shown in green. 14- Next playlist items. 15- Total Playlist duration. 16- Total playlist item s count. 17- Missing Item(s): Shows missing item(s) count in the playlist if there is. 18- Selected duration: You can see selected item(s) total duration here. 26

Log in to system Client 1- Please double click on the Client icon on your desktop to run it. 2- Please enter your username and password then hit enter or click Login button. 3- Once you logged in to the system you will see the available playout servers that assigned on your user. 4- Double click on the server that you want to connect or select server then click Connect 27

Set Media Directory 1- Goto Settings in the menu. 3- Goto Directories tab 4- Click browse button 4- Select your video directory then click Select (You can select multiple folder) 5- Click Apply to set media directories. 6- You can add or delete multiple directories by clicking + or - buttons next to Browse button. 28

Adding Media File Into The Playlist You can add or insert media files into your playlist in different ways. Adding From Media Explorer: 1- Select the media files that you want to add into you playlist in the Media Explorer tab and drag and drop into the playlist. Note: You can select multiple files by holding CTRL or SHIFT button on your keyboard. You can change insertion mode by selecting Add or Insert. If you select Add; the media files that you drop into the playlist will be added at the end of the list If you select Insert; the media files that you drop into the playlist will be inserted above to the highlighted one. 30

Adding File by Add or Insert Buttons You can add or insert media files into your playlist by clicking Add or Insert buttons at the top of your playlist 1- Click Add or Insert button. 2- Select the media files you want to add or insert and click select. 3- The media files will be added into the playlist. 31

Trimming Media File Set IN and OUT Points 1- Select the media file you want to trim in your playlist 2- The selected file will be ready to trim in the trimmer. 3- Change IN and OUT points of your media by dragging IN and OUT points or set IN and OUT points by timecode and click Set In and Set Out buttons. 4- Click Apply button. 5- Goto your playlist and check IN and OUT points. 33

If you want to create new directory please click Create Folder button. 3- Type Playlist name and click Save 4- You can Load your playlist when you want to play them again. Add Empty Asset Use Empty Assets to schedule your playlist even you haven t got all your playlist item ready yet. You can create an emtpy assets in your playlist. Define them a name and duration and when you put the asset into your media directory, system automatically switch your media file with Empty Asset and make it ready for playback. 1- Right click on your playlist and add or insert an Empty Asset. 2- Select the media file location that you are going to copy your media file. 3- Type a name. (You must type the exactly same name with your original file otherwise system can not find your file when you copy it. 4- Type extension(if you have multiple file with same name with different extensions, you should type extension here. If not just keep it unchecked.) 5- Set In and Out settings to schedule your playlist. If you keep it 00:00:00:00, 00:00:00:00 Empty Asset s duration will be shown as 00:00:00:00. 6- Click OK to add your Emtpy Asset. 7- You can edit your Empty Asset settings by right click on them and click PROPERTIES. Add Note You can use note events as a reminder in the playlist. 40 1- Right Click on your playlist and add or insert note. 2- Type your note into the input box. 3- Click OK to add your note into the playlist 4- You can edit your Note settings by right click on them and click PROPERTIES.

EVENTS You can use secondary events to control your playback by events. Wait Event 1- Right click on the playlist where you want to add or insert wait event and select Wait event in the EVENTS 2- Set duration and click save to add event. 3- You can edit your Wait Event settings by right click on them and click PROPERTIES. Stop Event 1- Right click on the playlist where you want to add or insert STOP event and select STOP event in the EVENTS 41
